Cinema Paradise - the Movie Thread Transformed
LadyCrimson replied to Amentep's topic in Way Off-Topic
Watched "Annihilation." Its slow, trippy (and sort of depressing) pace keeps you watching because "wtf is happening." For a little while, it turns into a horror movie. Then near the ending it goes back to sci-fi and "wtf is happening." One of those ambiguous leaves you wondering endings. I can't say it's a good movie, exactly, but it is one of those movies that has you thinking about it for a while afterwards. -
Now trying to make myself run through all the post-game Menace dungeons just to get the one-off items they contain. There are only 3 that I liked originally but at this point if I never do any of them again I won't mind. They are all so monotonous after more than 2-3 times. Especially the one with 100 rooms/levels. >.> ...then I have to do the entire thing over in NG+ so I can have 2 each of those one-offs and a "completionist" file on PC like I have on console already. After THAT, I can go back to just replaying the first half of the game now and then and ignoring the rest, or just goof off with mods etc. ...2 days for the reskin mod tool. I'm looking forward to that more than trying to go through these Menace dungeons. Why can't I be less of a compulsive "completionist" type.

I think I've changed more than the internet.

Hm. Well it depends a bit on what you define as an RPG. Maybe: Fallout:NV, KOTOR2, with Might and Magic 7 and Baldurs Gate 1 vying for 3rd spot. I'm not sure. I think BG1 is more of a RPG but M&M7 for me has a slight edge in terms of being more fun gameplay. (I tend to focus more on gameplay, then if it's the type, memorable characters over anything else) ...and of course (to those that know of me) I obviously love Final Fantasy XV as much as any of the three above, but I don't really see it as an RPG per se because there's such a lack of choice/control outside of combat. FFXV is more a party-based action/adventure. I also wouldn't count Diablo/like fare, even tho a few of such were some of my most-hours played. That said I think overall the number of RPG's I've actually played (let alone completed) is fairly small vs. many on these forums.

The only BG1 forum I remember was the oldstyle one with no avatars and that threaded BB like format. I think I recall when they shut that one down but I never went to the new ones, or didn't stay for long, or something. Ah, the early days of game forum-ing. I used to spend a lot of time at a Ceasar3 forum and a DK1 forum and ... 'net seemed a lot calmer and more rational back then overall. Probably wasn't tho and it's just my nostalgia.

oby's no longer around? I didn't even notice. Shows how much I pay attention these days. I think it's been something like 12 years off and on for me. I can't believe that much time has gone by. Well, I can (looks in the mirror) but you know what I mean. I do remember the old old boards which I was a part of for a while as well, but the memory is so faded and I don't recall anyone I met there being here. Mostly because I don't recall names probably. I don't even remember what handle/name I used on those old places.

LOL ... Levi's pretty...when you can actually get a whole shot of her. It's pretty difficult. And she doesn't show up as a Summon very often. -

Seeing the above thumbnail reminded me that if I'm using my own server vs. Imgur that I can make thumbnails be links and not feel so bad about larger MB images (some people may be looking on their phones these days?). So click for bigger. The Master's are even more adorable. Look at those cute white bootie-shoes. I want one. -
We usually get 2-4 weeks worth of days like that per summer. Most of the time it's upper 70's or mid-80's tho. Just 30-40 minutes further South where we used to be live, it's warmer more often. Or at least used to be. I feel like the whole area has changed pattern a tad.

Supposedly Andrew Lincoln (Rick on Walking Dead) will be leaving and will only be in half the episodes next season. I wonder if the show will survive that. Not that I care, I finally stopped watching that yo-yo ride of a show not long after Neegan showed up. The actress playing Maggie could leave as well, she won't be in all episodes either (contract disputes maybe). So Norman Reedus could end up the front-runner. I'm not sure that would work. He's a good side chr. but leading man material he's not. Time to cancel that show? I hear Fear the Walking Dead improved over time....has it really? Maybe I should take a peek at it again one day. Same but it may take a while before I stop referring to him as Castle He's still Mal to me.

90F would be where every time I leave my A/C room, by comparison the rest of the house feels like I opened an oven door. ...but I suppose in some parts of Texas and Arizona and other such places, it would be a cool day. I remember driving through one of the actual deserts down south (nothing but sand dunes/scrub for miles). Something like 110F. We wore out the car A/C that trip.

Almost cuddly. It's the hair, again. And the expression. Fist bump, bro! Prompto, thinking he has a chance. -
Unmotivated to actually quest or anything but occasionally fire up XV, take random pictures of Ignis the boy band and giggle at Cheat Engine shenanigans. Lvl 100 sabertusks, haha. Umbra is still the best Guest npc! Waiting for reskin/model swap editor, which is now announced for June 7th. Sounds like it may still be limited at first but still, should be better than nothing. As long as I can do more than make everyone a giant walking cactuar. >.>

Every time it's gets over 78F here, I turn the A/C in this room on and stay in this room until late-night. I do like temp/weather variety tho. Just in a very limited range. Say, 60F-74F with several weeks of stormy weather per year. The world smells much better when it's raining, too. Well, at least where I live.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - VISUAL NOVELS ALLOWED
LadyCrimson replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
In 10 years (or less) Bethesda will likely have joined the ranks of other giant game corps designated as "evil." If I was into programming/had the brains and talent for such, I would definitely be trying to make my own games at this point. Not to sell. Just...for me. -
MMO fad may have passed (they learned subscription-commitment isn't what people want), but games-as-service hasn't. Companies are going to continue to try to find ways to make a game monthly/annually profitable for longer (vs. just the initial game sales). So basically appeal to people who have a lot of disposable income and don't mind buying all those pixel-thingies/bonuses/services which end up costing far more than a monthly subscription would. New mounts, new clothes, new weapons, storage space, new areas to conquer, new ships, whatever. Look how much money Star Citizen made and they haven't even come close to releasing it yet. Those people, that's what companies would love to have. I'd actually be one of those people (to a point...) if I liked a game enough (I spent a fair amount on that NWN online f2p (haha) thing) but they always focus on online games so....no.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - VISUAL NOVELS ALLOWED
LadyCrimson replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
This is why the gaming industry has largely stopped appealing to me. I know they still make good games (especially in the indie area) but mostly they've turned into the same mass-market, generic, trend-following, over-spending, rebooting culture as the (US) movie industry. Predictable trajectory of all big business, mind, but always annoying nonetheless. And even most indie games aren't developing projects that interest me on a personal level. (edit - eg the "trends" aren't my thing, is all) I'm just happy when I find a game that appeals to me on a visceral level now. But an online shooter type of game wouldn't even do that. Bethesda was never a fave company for me tho. I liked Morrowind and Obsidian's NV and that was about it. But it's not surprising they want to continue to try to capitalize on the online-gaming trend/frenzies. Edit: will this have games-as-service model as well? -
The rumor now appears to be a FO3 remaster. https://imgur.com/xcVWo7r

Part of one of the new themes from the Royal Edition of FFXV (full version is around 7-8 minutes long I think). This part of it is played during a last phase of a boss fight. I utterly love it. I am so going to buy the "Verse 2" of the XV soundtrack (already bought the original first one), which will include the music from the dlc's and such.

Watched the first episode of a S. Korea drama (it's on Netflix) called Live (at least that's what Netflix calls it). For much of the time there's no background music at all, giving it a different/rougher feel. Focuses on a few characters who can't find/make FT employment who end up joining the police force. I liked it a fair bit, seems like a series that may start off a bit slow/deliberately paced but by the end you'd be all "fantastic show!" ... promising start anyway.

My knees had a falling out with me over the weekend. Guess I've been sitting at the desk too much the past couple months, hah. Two skinny heating pads wrapped around ... ahhh, that's better. I need that hottub we always keep talking about maybe sticking on the patio. Tell my hubby to get on that for me, will ya?

For good reason. I hear If you post too much in multiple forums they make you a mod... Hahaha! I registered here during Kotor2. I post mostly here or in C&C these days. This is mostly an occasional social board for me now, not a place for talking shop of a specific game. I don't play many games these days and haven't played an Obsidian game since the first PoE kickstarter/release etc. Also....dang, imagine one little mis-timing.
-
why would that annoy anyone? It's a shallow game, Diablo with guns or whatnot. But I found it that type of genre fun. It was also great to play with my husband. That's it. ... in terms of E3, what about Bethesda? They put a pic on their twitter that seem to imply ... something. Not that I care much about them these days. What projects to they have in the works?
-
Ditto. But I also think even if there is one, it won't be the same at all. Then I'll cry for what could have been.
