  1. Who is speaking about outright attacks? So, Obama's inaction is your "own" worst enemy? Iran is rattling it's sabres because the population is getting restless - a booming population of young unemployed men, women getting educated and an inflexible economic system paired with a totalitarian regime is probably the worst ****tail imaginable for a ruling elite. Luckily for Ahmadinejad, America can always be used as the grand 'scapegoat of evil - and the reason why America (and Denmark etc) is so easy to use isn't because of guys like Obama. We've been there too - and that wasn't because we appeared weak.. quite the contrary. Why are you bringing up Iran. Are you responding to me or somebody else? Because that has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Are you somehow arguing the situation in Iran is better because of Obama? If so...
  2. Who is speaking about outright attacks?
  3. All he has managed to do is make us look weaker and embolden our enemies.
  4. Brother, McCain did more to lose the election than Sarah Palin. Every Republican I know, and I know quite a few, had to hold their nose last election voting for McCain. 'Why not vote for Obama. We're getting a democrat either way'. This was of course before they knew just how flaming left he was.
  5. I'm so glad I didn't cave in for this game, because I was at one point very excited to play it. About the only thing I disagree with in that review was the offensiveness of the alien rape scene. I didn't find it funny, but I wasn't disgusted by it. Not in the way that reviewer was anyway. For a game that prides itself on being a big, dumb shooter, you'll be surprised to note that the game features comparatively little shooting. A huge portion of the game is given over to awkward, badly designed first-person platforming and physics puzzles ripped straight out of Half-Life 2, with not even a fraction of the ingenuity found in Valve's games. After the rehash of the Duke Nukem 3D boss fight at the start of the game, it'll take thirty minutes before you're even given a gun. This is exactly what I noticed in the youtube vids. Short dull fights punctuated by some room puzzle. I hated that in Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 did a much better job of it.
  6. Hitman without Jesper Kyd is Hitman in name only.
  7. I'd like to believe this is a case of the reviewers getting it wrong, but watching large chunks of it online and reading about it give every impression that it is mediocre. I'm not going to risk it myself until the price drops way down. I did enjoy the recent Alien vs. Predator game & Alpha Protocol despite both games being trashed by reviewers. A difference I see though is there was a fanbase that 'got' these games, while fans of Duke 3D are as disappointed as the reviewers.
  8. I wonder if its small but even if it were small, it would get bigger when piled up with numbers...but its your choice after all. Well, here are a number of reasons I got a 360: -DRM, like Greylord. Atari holding back of Mysteries of Westgate after it was finished for a year so they could test DRM on it was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. -My PC was getting old. Upgrading a PC is expensive. I had spent a long time and a lot of money building a KILLER PC. It was becoming outdated quickly and it made me depressed that my once killer gaming rig was obsolete. -Almost all of the PC games I was playing were console ports. Often bad ones. Almost all of the PC only releases were in genres I wasn't as interested in, like RTS. -There are some genuinely amazing games that just don't make it to PC. Indeed part of the reason may be to try and get people to buy a console, but other factors like developer fear of piracy can lead them to keeping a game on console. As for the argument against getting a console because it 'supports developers keeping certain games on consoles', you can avoid this issue by picking up a console on eBay and then purchasing a used copy of a game at GameStop or also on eBay. My 360 is going to get a bit less attention lately because I just upgraded my PC (er more like completely built a new one. Only thing remaining of the old build is the case) into a killer modern machine. I plan on getting Dungeon Siege 3 on my 360. I tried the demo on both 360 & PC and the controls are just awkward on the PC but it feels natural on 360. I did however change my Rage preorder from 360 to PC. Some games are better on console and some are better on PC.
  9. I was considering preordering it and decided not to. There are a ton of games coming out and I just wasn't sure. It turns out it was a good idea. Final IGN Review is in and it is a 5.5. Average Press score review is a 6.2 and average reader review a 6.5. Sounds like this game is essentially Half-Life 2 with less interesting combat and even more annoying physics puzzles where you have to stop every level or so to figure some sequence out.
  10. Only one small reason why consoles have become dominant lately.
  11. I'm sure they used that as justification too while they raped eight year old girls. "The Russian soldiers were raping every German female from eight to eighty," she recounted later. "It was an army of rapists." The capacity of Soviet officers to convince themselves that most of the victims were either happy with their fate, or at least accepted that it was their turn to suffer after what the Wehrmacht had done in Russia, is striking. "Our fellows were so sex-starved," a Soviet major told a British journalist at the time, "that they often raped old women of sixty, seventy or even eighty - much to these grandmothers' surprise, if not downright delight."
  12. Same day Red Dead comes out on PC. Actually unlike RDR the game was already rated for PC by ESRB. Since that is exactly how news of gta4 and bully ports leaked the chances are somewhat better. Good to know. I'd prefer a port of Red Dead myself.
  13. The Russians were pigs during WWII. Even when stationed in Allied countries.
  14. What I want to know is how it took 14 years to squeeze it out. It should have one of the longest and most impressive campaigns of all time.
  15. Same day Red Dead comes out on PC. If PC only crowd can, I'd recommend getting a deal on a console. Its worth it for games like Red Dead & L.A. Noire which never come to the PC. Red Dead in particular is one of the top 10 games I've ever played.
  16. I must have missed out on some drama.
  17. If I had a PS3 I know I would have got the PS3 version over the 360 version. The game is long so it isn't too bad to switch discs if you are playing from the start but just randomly trying to replay cases is a pain.
  18. IGN early impressions think DNF is crap. From what I've seen of youtube & gametrailer vids they may be right. If the game had come out in , or 2004 to compete with Half-Life 2 & Doom 3 it might have been fantastic. Speaking of Half-Life 2, the graphics look about on par with that game, if not worse.
  19. No PS3 for me so I hope that is true. I've been loving their recent games.
  20. This actually gives me hope that they've focused on more important gameplay features.
  21. Its pretty much the very start of the game before the actual island exploration starts, so I'm not ready to write it off just yet.
  22. Sure looks like an exciting game... driving around a desert... looking at dirt.
  23. The 'Authority' have some super armor apparently. I've been more impressed with the mutant fights, the way they leap around and dodge while the Authority look more like classic FPS enemies.
  24. yep. GTTV hosted a demo showcase, 20 or so minutes of gameplay Dammit, I missed it. I hope it pops up on gametrailers. edit:
