  1. No. Yes. In Mass Effect 2 if you removed all the RPG dialogue and turned it into a Gears of War cover shooter, it would still be a decent experience. Remove the dialogue and RPG elements of DA 2 and turn it into a God of War action game, which seems to be the route they were taking, and you have gaming hell.
  2. True. I loathed the combat as the game went on. Even taking combat out of the equation, the game's scope and reuse of assets was horrible. I don't mind the idea of a more personal story, but it really would have improved if the family moved from city to city, or if the city's size had been doubled. I realized at some point in chapter two that I had seen everything there was to see as far as environments went in the fist chapter. It really disgusts me that Alpha Protocol was so lambasted by critics, while DA 2, a rushed game with more dire flaws, IMHO, was given ratings in the 8 range.
  3. I read this in one of the forums underneath the news story and it gave me a chuckle: "It is amazing what Americans can accomplish when the PSN is down."
  4. Well, ME 2 wasn't so much dumbed down as had a shift in gameplay style to something that is still very fun. At least if you enjoy cover shooting mechanics, which I luckily do. DA 2 on the other hand keeps the core gameplay of the original and simply dumbs it down to a button masher.
  5. Are you slow in the head or do you honestly not see the difference? The retardation in this thread is unbelievable. Then again, maybe that saying about liberalism being a mental disorder is true as it seems that the more liberal forumites are the ones condemning others for being happy a leader of murdering terrorists is dead. If you could care less A: Screw you and I hope your country never needs the U.S.' aid like many countries have in the past. B: There are plenty of other threads about things you might actually care about. I try not to make a habit of being a douche and trash talking people for caring about things I don't care about.
  6. Is this some lame way of attempting to shame people for being happy Bin Laden is dead or did you forget to take your pills today?
  7. I was just at the store and if I had known I would have bought a ton of booze. This makes my day. Hell it makes my week.
  8. I loved the Marathon Trilogy in the mid 90s when I had a Macintosh. Halo is essentially a reboot with an extremely similar story and elements. If you can stand old Doom style graphics I'd highly recommend it as it had a great story, though confined to computer terminals. The third in the series, Marathon Infinity, made the story feel like Planescape in space as people still debate the twists and meanings to this day.
  9. For me it has unfortunately been the norm to have coop buddies shoot off and do their own thing. I did finally play with someone who actually slowed down to explore with me and the game was much more fun. Every map has a 30 minute time limit. It is irritating at first as the levels usually require figuring out which lever to pull where which opens this gate that leads to the boss etc. The game is similar to Resident Evil 5 & Left 4 Dead in that it can be played in single player, but it is far, far more entertaining to play in coop mode (assuming you get helpful buddies and not super companions who rush off and do everything themselves). Part of this is because many sections of levels can only be explored with a coop buddy, there is no story (no cutscenes, nothing. Story summed up in an options menu about a Grimoire of Castlevania's past being relived) and when played in single player the time limit does not pause (the whole game doesn't pause once started) even if you go into a menu screen. The leveling system is quite different from other recent Castlevania games, like Symphony of the Night. Instead of getting XP for killing enemies you only improve your character by finding better equipment or using your characters special until it powers up.
  10. Watched the whole thing and I feel I understand the game much better and why the specific coop system was chosen. While I love playing Resident Evil 5 coop mode or Castlevania HD coop mode, one problem with these games is that you can have a coop partner join you who has beaten the game 5,000 times, has every gun/ability unlocked and who just leaves you behind and it just isn't fun. First time I fired up Castlevania HD coop, my partner shot off the moment the match started and literally, I went a few rooms in while he had rushed off to defeat the boss. I think I opened one or two chests in the time he single handedly did the whole level himself.
  11. I loved it too. I'd always play on the normal difficulty. If you are on 360 you can get a version on XBLA for $5 bucks. Worth it IMHO, as you can play over XBLA with a coop buddy. Don't know if it is on the PSN or not.
  12. My intro to console systems was the 16-bit Sega Genesis (missed the 8-bit era). I've only owned 3 consoles in my life; Sega Genesis, Xbox 360 & then an older original Xbox (to play some classic Xbox games that didn't emulate well on 360). My favorite sonic was Sonic 3 + Sonic & Knuckles cartridge attachment. One of, if not the first 'expansion pack' for a cartridge console system. Sonic 3 was already awesome, but plugging in Knuckles turned the game into an epic game. Some random Sega games I enjoyed: Earthworm Jim 1 & 2, Streets of Rage trilogy, Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master, Vectorman 1 & 2, Flashback, Comix Zone (sucked into a comic jump from panel to panel), Road Rash trilogy, Skitchen (Road Rash with skates instead of motorcycles) & Ranger X to name a few. Batman & Robin had to be one of my favorite Sega games. The graphics were amazing for a Sega game, even superior to most SNES games and the music was great too (Jespyr Kid of the Hitman games).
  13. I pity you o' masochistic one.
  14. That Victoria Stilwell show right? I saw that one. The couple had a kid the dog was terrorizing as well if I remember right. I found it amusing too that they would turn to her for help. I guess chaos was too much even for them!
  15. I'd be quite impressed with Bioware if they released extra interiors to replace some of the stock ones in either patch or dlc form. I do agree with Nepenthe that it wont happen, but it sure would be cool if it did.
  16. Speaking of pathetic, your trolling. Do you do it just because you have nothing to add?
  17. No, because it doesn't work and only gives us a weak image. Just look how Russian topic starter obyknven views Obama as weak and pathetic when one of the countries Obama has been courting has been Russia. He snubbed Georgia in favor of our good buddy Russia.
  18. Israel, Britain & France to name a few. This is nothing new... why are people acting surprised.
  19. Apparently no one is as he has also bowed to China & Suadia Arabia. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he bowed to Chavez. Apparently you haven't been paying attention to his behavior as he has been snubbing allies since he has taken office while throwing parties for China etc. Hurlshot is right, this is hardly a major issue but it is a symptom of the problem we have in office right now and where his loyalties lie.
  20. Bad examples. Notice that his back is still straight and he is 'bowing' to respected ALLIES.
  21. While I've been a bit jealous of the exclusives the PS3 has been getting lately I have to say I've never been more pleased that I got a 360 instead of a PS3.
  22. If you thought the zombie mode in Black Ops was ridiculous with Nixon, JFK, Macnamera & Castro, the upcoming Black Ops Map Pack Zombie Map has Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Geller, Robert Englund & Michael Rooker as playable characters and George Romero as the master zombie.
  23. Can't really answer any of your questions but I did want to comment and say I wish you started out using one SMG at a time and gained the ability to use two SMGs as you leveled up the skill.
