  1. Raven Squad. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusiv...ven-squad/53540 All I have to say is, Game of the Year.
  2. I hated Gearbox's Brothers in Arms, and I don't really know what to think about this.
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disorderly_conduct See specifically "(2) makes unreasonable noise and continues to do so after being asked to stop." About the arresting officer: "Sgt. James Crowley's history has been noted for his having been chosen by a black police commissioner to serve as an instructor for a Lowell Police Academy course entitled "Racial Profiling," which Crowley has taught since 2004. He tried to resuscitate Reggie Lewis while working as a campus police officer at Brandeis University in 1993. Crowley has received public support from many police officers, including African Americans, who have spoken on his behalf and who have portrayed him as a good and fair officer. Sgt. Leon Lashley, a black officer who was present at Gates's arrest, said he supported Sgt. Crowley's actions "100 percent", while another officer in the department was quoted as saying "racism is not part of it, and that is what is frustrating." Is it possible this arrest was racially motivated? Yeah. Likely cause? I doubt it.
  4. Racism confirmed. You say I ignore facts, yet you completely ignored my previous post. I already pointed out he showed the ID. In fact I corrected you that one of the first things he did was show his ID. I also pointed out that after doing so he was belligerent to the officer(s). Confirming that you haven't commited a crime doesn't suddenly give you the right to go ape on the offier, insult them and curse them. You may not have said every officer is corrupt. That certainly seems to be what you are getting at though by constantly posting about previous cases of police corruption. I made the simple point that we don't know exactly what was said between the two parties, just that the evidence seems to point to Disorderly Conduct. You seem to be trying to make the argument that cases in the past of police corruption = this situation being so.
  5. What I truly find sickening, is that the woman who saw Gates breaking into his house and reported it has apparently received hate mail. Apparently her 911 call was released to the public, only to find that she didn't even know what skin color Gates was. She saw something suspicious and called it in. I'd be happy to have a neighbor like her. Cops show up I'd THANK them for checking it out, show the ID and that would be that. I hope that if nothing else, people agree these attacks on this woman are ridiculous and disgusting.
  6. I can't believe you losers read game novels. Now, I'm going to get back to Halo: Fall of Reach.
  7. Right, I point out that labelling all police officers as corrupt nazis is biased idiocy, then you come up with some other incident. Fantastic argument. If you believe every cop in this nation is corrupt, you are beyond hope and arguing with you IS pointless. You completely fell into my argument about a racist fool using incidents of blacks commiting crimes making as much sense as your cases of police corruption being some example that EVERY incident involving police is obviously corrupt. The Thin Blue Line, this case of a woman being attacked by police. OBVIOUSLY THIS INCIDENT AND EVERY OTHER IS THE SAME... DUH! As for your impression of me... do you actually believe I care? I frankly hope you hate my guts. It would be scary to think someone as delusional as you had anything but animosity towards me.
  8. Sigh, same planet, different worlds. Logic and common sense have no place here and I might as well be arguing with a brick wall. I should have learned my lesson the last time when arguing with Borat.
  9. Maybe because he's an arrogant Harvard Professor? I've also heard he said something along the lines of "you don't know who you are messing with" to the police. Cursing at someone goes beyond 'annoying'. All it takes is a small amount of respect. Hell, you don't have to respect them. Just don't insult them/completely ignore the law. Again, you show your bias. Some scum cop goes fascist and ALL of them are pigs who flaunt the law. I could tell the exact same story, except replace the word cop with black man and draw a similar conclusion. I'd be a racist prick, and you are just a biased prick.
  10. I like how you manipulate the 'facts' to fit your agenda. The first thing that happened after the cops arrived was the showing of ID, followed by Gates' belligerence and request for a name/badge number. It was given to Gates, repeatedly but he was yelling loudly at the officers. It was DURING this time that the police asked for Gates to step outside. If you think that cops should put up with someone's bs because they are black you are pretty racist. Seriously, watch just one or two episodes of Cops. Always a clown or two who is belligerent with the cops, ignores their requests and then they arrest that person. At this point its past an apology and they are going to jail one way or another, no matter what the skin color or gender is of the suspect or the arresting officer. The problem again, is we don't know exactly what was said between Gates and the Officers who arrived, just that after arrival one of the officers repeatedly called in about Gates' belligerence. I'm more inclined to believe the officers because, again, I know enough about cops that you don't piss them off. Thats the thing though. Obama has no idea either, and it shows his own bias. He and his buddies are above the law and it was obviously the cops who were at fault.
  11. Heh, thats a good one. Real stupid of Obama to say cops acted stupidly for arresting Gates. Grandmother has a security system she once accidentally tripped. Cops came out, asked to look around and she said sure. End of story. Gates 'breaks' into his house, is seen by neighbor. Cops show up, ask to look around and he rants about them being racist and curses at them. I'm sorry, but you don't act like a jack ass around cops. Has nothing to do with race (one of the cops arresting him was also black). Obama is either arrogant (don't arrest buddies of mine!) or a bit racist himself. Or it was yet another knee-jerk reaction from presbo.
  12. I eagerly await the controller made of fruit. Have a feeling I'd go through them quickly though.
  13. Righting wrongs is good and fine, but insisting on a conspiracy where there is none may turn out to be dangerous. Whoever was involved with or planned the 9-11 attacks deserves death. People start beleiving the gov was in on it with no real proof, just rabid insistance and we're going to start breeding our own retarded terrorists striking back for no reason. Conspiracy theories can be 'fun', but not in this case. Just no truth in these 'Truthers'.
  14. Bah, Watchmen is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
  15. AvP 3. One word: Awesome! http://www.gametrailers.com/video/marines-...aliens-vs/53511
  16. LOL, I'm tempted to use the Total Recall one. Alright... its mine... ALL MINE! Unless I spot someone else with it.
  17. You got me.
  18. Have to say I agree with taks. Cult has been used in its negative form so much in our culture/times that to call Christianity (or any other form of organized religion) and Scientology both cults is just an insult. You are ALL gay! How many of you just took that as calling you all homosexuals when my actual meaning may have been "having or showing a merry, lively mood". The word is just not used in it's original form anymore.
  19. If Hulu is a pirate site then instead of pillaging and raping they sail through a town dropping off goods and passing out chastidy belts to the wenches. Alec Baldwin is a alien pirate supporter! YAR! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m71m-LBqFQ So is Seth MacFarlane! YAR! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CMWkesiVD4...feature=related AND Denis Leary! Bottle O' Rum! Eliza... Dushku is a... pirate? Um... yar... suck my brains please! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTRBDElSQPE
  20. Scientology seems very different. I've had many conversations with Christians, friend & family. They each have their own ideas, arguments and reasons for their faith. They question it at times and reinforce it in different manners. Scientology seems more like Dr. Evil put your head in the brain wash machine come out different stuff. Frankly I think the Germans are right to ban it. Really, it seems more like a cult than anything else.
  21. Sorry... double post.
  22. I've watched a few Scientologists questioned about their faith on YouTube, and it really is like they are brain washed. They immediately go on the defensive and repeat the same slogans/phrases over again. My Grandmother went to some sort of Scientologist seminar many years ago and went through hypno-regression. Said she actually believed she was a baby again. Told me this a while back and at the time I didn't believe her. I'm very much into freedom of choice and freedom of religion... but Scientology just worries me.
  23. I certainly believe games can be scary. The first AvP made me jump out of my chair a few times. Especially the damned face huggers who fly at you and SCREAM straight from the first Alien movie when Kane was facehugged. AvP 2 failed hard and real scares though. Big problem was that AvP 2 placed the aliens in the same spot every time you played while AvP 1 randomized the alien spawns. Not only that, but the aliens in 1 were absolutely hell bent on reaching you anywhere you hid. They could even attack from the ceilings. I'm so hoping AvP 3 returns to that style (good chance too considering devs of AvP 1 are back for 3). Doom 3 also made me jump like a kangaroo a few times. After the initial demonic invasion, I remember making my way back through an area, approaching some stairs and then having an imp climb up from under the stairs. Resident Evil 1 got me a few times with the dogs jumping through the window & the zombie in the closet. I recently tried System Shock 2 and I honestly wasn't scared by it. I imagine if I had played it back around its release date I would feel different about. I didn't really find BioShock scary either.
  24. Well, L. Ron Hubbard WAS a bad sci-fi writer in the 50s wasn't he? I think some people are just desperate to be part of... something. Its eccentric and different, and the movie stars are/want to be too. The more you learn about Scientology the more of a joke it sounds like. Whats really horrifying is that people buy into it with their lives and savings. I guess it all sounds rather good at first. Sort of a healthy living spiritual type thing. The more a person pays the weirder it gets though and the more indoctrinated the people become. I used to believe hypnosis was a bunch of bunk, but I've recently changed my mind about it. The mind is incredible, and can unfortunately be manipulated like clay in the wrong hands.
  25. Have you seen the series it is a continuation of, Firefly? If not I highly recommend you do so. It only lasted one season before being cancelled and the movie ties up most of the loose ends. I wish more cancelled shows got movies to tie up sudden cancellations. Sarah Connor Chronicles is left dangling in the wind after an awesome season finale. You can catch most, if not all of the episodes of Firefly on Hulu.com.
