The majority of water evidence (to be fair, what has been found in not water as we have it here but hydroxl) located in any abundance has been near the lunar poles. The Apollo landing sites are all near the lunar equator. The one mission that brought back the most samples bearing the greatest amount of evidence of water was Apollo 15 which landed at Descartes and was the northernmost landing. The fact that the Descartes samples contained evidence of past water is what fueled the then commonly believed theory that the moon was created from ejecta from the earth following an impact or volcanic event. It wan't until the orbiter Clementine photographed the poles back in the 80s that the beleif arose that there might be large amounts of water. Since then US, ES, Chinese, and now Indian probes have all gathered supporting evidence.

No it's real. The chemical symbol is H3. It's been a long time since my last chemistry class but I think it can only exist as a solid at extreme low temps and it is very unstable in any other form. Would't H3 refer to a molecule with 3 H atoms in it, instead of an isotope with a couple extra neutrons in it (which is what tritium is)? I thought 3H was the normal notation (with the 3 superscripted). You're right, I wrtoe it backwards...

Finally getting around to playing Icewind Dale 2. I've had it for at least six years now, never even opened it.

I actually disagree with you on that one. I think the wildcards have been a real boon to the sport. If I were to get rid of anything is would be the DH. On that note, what does everyone think of the DH? If you like baseball you gotta have an opinion on that one. Epic win by the fish last night, victimizing Lidge yet again. Lidge had blown five saves vs the fish this year.

It is an ideal nuclear fusion fuel. Excellent reactance and very high energy, without the down side of heavier fuels such as uranium and plutonium.

Americans set to get standardised/universal healthcare

The Constitution requires the federal government to secure the republic and defend the borders. It does not require (and I would make the argument does not permit) the federal government from administrating healthcare, nor compelling the citizens to participate in its largesse. -
Except for Tritium which is extremely valuable, if only the logistics of actually extracting it and bringing in back could be worked out. Perhaps in our lifetime but not now. But I would point out that the baby steps must be taken before the big things and the benefits they bring can be accoplished.

I passed on the job opportunity today. For the first time in years I'm pretty happy with my situation. For the first time ever, money is not everything. It just goes to show how your values change as you get older. A few years ago I'd have backstabbed my own mother for a shot like that.

Good article about the manager situation in Houston. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bb/6632313.html I remember the contrasts between the 97 Marlins and the 02 Marlins. The 97 bunch hated each other are were less than cordial with the fans. It was all business and no fun. In 02 it was all young guys, the mood around the clubhouse was light, you could tell the difference on the field. It was much easier to cheer for those guys.

Yankees clinched. I forget who said this but: "Cheering for the Yankees is like rooting for the house in Blackjack."

After the accident I had to give up running all together and really had to change how I did weightlifting (strictly low weight hi rep now). I would try swimming regularly but I live out in the sticks and there is no gym anywhere near thats in any way convienient. I did go buy a heavy punching bag and I work out with that almost every day, plus I bought a complete set of dumbells to do physical therapy with after the crash. But it's nothing compared to what I used to do. I can tell the difference, I watch what I eat so I have not gained weight, but I can tell my energy levels are not what they once were.

Phils took the first of a doubleheader with the fish. Their magic number is 5. With that loss and the way the rocks are playing it looks like the Marlins six year cycle will come to an end. But I really can't complain, both they and the Rays had great seasons and kept it intersting late. I really pulling for Minnesota to close with the Tigers, that would be a great story. I guess for the playoffs I'm pulling for the Cards & Twins if they get in.

I was offered a promotion today. Actually it is a whole other job but it is in management so it counts as a promotion. The money is much better, but there is a catch. The job is in Dallas. I didn't even apply for this, they dropped it on me out of the blue. So now I'm taking a nearly full bottle of Knob Creek, a steel bowl of ice and a glass and I'm going to go sit on my porch and think about this.

Here's an SNL skit that might offer an answer: http://www.hulu.com/watch/96411/saturday-n...2009#s-p1-sr-i4 "If we all do it we can't get in trouble" Now, that was funny.

It was suppposed to be a joke, I thought it was funny anyway. But I do have to admit it was a lot funnier last night when I saw it after drinking all day. Nothing is really funny right now.

What a rotten weekend. Gators should have destroyed UT but didn't. Marlins got blown out by the reds today, Bucs got blown out by Buffalo. But at least the Phillies lost and in the minors the Redbirds won the PCL championship. How cool is that?
