The Bucs are going to take Jamies Winston first over all. He scares the heck out of me. There is no doubting his skill or his football intellect. And there is no doubt he is the kind of kid who the combiation of millions of dollars and six months of unsupervised free time can get into a LOT of trouble. I'm afraid he's going to be either Ryan Leaf II or Jamarcus Russell II. Either would be a disaster. And if Mariota goes on to become Peyton Manning II I'll have to give up football. This 1st overall pick is making me a nervous wreck! I almost wish they were picking 2nd!

I received a call and an e-mail last night extending an offer on the job in Nashville. It wasn't enough by far to be worth moving. I countered by inquiring about the flexibility to work from Memphis. I suggested (without saying it) that I'd be willing to take less $ to do so. Considering the kind of work I'd be surprised if they agreed but I was going to turn them down anyway so we'll see what happens.

The vets "gut feeling" was a benign tumor on his thyroid, the fix for which is literally one zap from a laser ($1500+) or medication for the rest of his life ($ unknown), but we'll get the test results today or tomorrow. And I was wildly off on his age. Apparently he is 15, so I don't know what I was thinking there. Im also wrestling with the cost vs benefit analysis. Vet says cats can live to 20 but the more realistic average is 16-18. Soooo, as I was staring into my wifes tear swollen eyes, I folded like a beach chair and told her we could get the laser treatment if that's whats wrong with the cat. I'd have done the same.

Scotch Enoch. Lawyers drink scotch. You don't want to get in trouble do you?

Lady GD is at work and I just got home from a 4 hour drive. As hungry as I am the only thing I have energy enough to make is a microwave hotdog with a lowball glass of bourbon to wash the taste away. Maybe 3 glasses.

Win of US elections by Obama is a best operation of KGB/FSB forever. I KNEW it!

The Griz had a HUGE win on the road in Houston last night.

I went to Nashville for a job interview today. It went well I think and I'm expecting an offer. It would have to be a hell of an offer because we'd have to move.

The Monsters of the Mississippi have slipped a little. They are 6-4 in their last 10 but are having trouble putting together back to back wins and the Rockets are getting hot and creeping up behind. Not worried yet but... well, maybe a little.

Bring back any memories? So, so many. 25 years this year and I still remember our SDI and DI's names, platoon number, drill commands, all of it. I was 17, on firewatch in the recruit barracks looking through the porthole to the blinking lights of Mission Hills, the same place I was at this week, as a senior citizen of 42. I think MCRD San Diego would be harder to deal with. Parris Island is remote. When you are there it is nothing but Marine Corps as far as the eye can see. By the end of Forming Week you hardly remember there is anything else. In San Diego it's all around you. It's a funny thing isn't it? Boot Camp is such a small part of the Marine Corps experience but it's always the thing you remember the most. MCT was more physically demanding than boot camp. Hell PT in the fleet was often more demanding with real consequences for not doing well in it. I was in for five years. I served in seven states and five countries. I met countless people but the three names I remember the most are Sgt Crosby, Sgt Cundiff & Sgt Simmons. Strange how that works.

That it was all done behind closed doors and enacted in secret is particularly worrisome. As is the story in CNS that the FEC was consulted.

USA Today is predicting a Warriors-Cavs finals. That would make this thread interesting at least. Like having Volo vs Leferd in a steel cage texas death match!

I LOVE Verzion's response to this pile of BS: For those not familiar with old technology that is morse code. It was the preferred method of communication when the law that now governs internet traffic was written.

This is much ado about nothing at the moment but it can (and probably will) be a segue into more sinister things. My two biggest problems with it are 1) It is NOT needed. It is a solution in search of a problem. 2) It was done in secret, by an agency that is not accountable to anyone that refused to even talk to congress about it. That bit about tyranny might sound a little looney but there is more than a grain of truth in it.

Nice! You get the best vacations.

It might be you are just what they are looking for. Good luck!

I had an interview today with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation today. About five minutes into it I was wondering what the heck I was doing there. They are looking for someone with a Geotechnical, Environmental, or at least Civil Engineering background. I have a BSEE and 20 years of RF/Electronic experience. Nonetheless it was a pleasant conversation and I gave a good account for myself. I showed I was a quick study and that I paid attention in my Fluid Mechanics class. I seriously doubt anything will come of that but it's always good to get interview experience.

Wow this thread is old. You guys have been fighting this modern war for almost 2 years.

Show up naked with the Illuminati pyramid painted on yourself and start screaming about LizardJews. Guaranteed success. Consider it done!

I have a job interview tomorrow. I'm not sure why they are interested in me because it sounds like they need someone with a civil engineering background. But I was invited to apply by a friend and then granted an interview so what the heck.
