Somehow I think if Jesus visited a Wal Mart on black Friday morning and saw people fighting each other over a slight discount on second rate merchandise made by slave labor in a country where the government supports groups who want to kill the people fighting over those cheap products he would be horrified. How much more so when he hears it's all to honor Him.

You said it all right there.
-
Yep. Anything but probably not something good.

What if it would only save the ones deemed "good" by your personal moral metrics? Bartimaeus & Malc have answered as well as I could have. Although there are people in the world who wish ill on their fellow humans, that is not the norm. However, when the collective good of "us" is in conflict with "them", us wins every time. Would you help a stranger at the expense of a family member? Just as an example.

If humanity collectively believed that, we'd still be living in caves, you do realize that, right? I'd say it's because we don't believe this that we are not.

I don't mean to sound dismissive because rapes are terrible but the reality of cases of rape in the refugee camps amongst the refugees isnt enough to really deter the overall strategy? In other words I imagine crime is fairly common in these refuge camps ? What....why don't you like Merkel? How is she a villain? Bruce it isn't that they are just raping each other. There have been over a dozen instances of rape involving German women. That to me is more than enough reason. As I have posted before I would not trade the life of a single American citizen if it would save every man woman and child in Syria. If I have to choose between us and them I'm choosing us every time. GD ...mmmm,,,,are you using that famous Tennessee hyperbole again? So if someone said to you we will kill one American or nuke the whole of Syria ....what would you chose ? Bye bye Syria. In all seriousness, I served in the military and I was and still am more than willing to risk my own life to help someone but I will not risk someone else's. Especially when those receiving the help are so ungrateful for it. These people act like the basest of savages in the home country and practice a religions that teaches them it is perfectly ok to rape infidel women. Why are we surprised when we bring them into other countries and they do the same thing? Why is that so hard to understand.? Granted most of them have better decency than that but I would not risk the safety of one innocent American to find out if the ones I'm helping are the decent ones.

I have a permit and I carry a weapon everywhere except places where it isn't permitted or otherwise inappropriate. Everyone I meet or see is perfectly safe from my gun so long as they don't pull a weapon or try to kill me. Don't do either of those things and no one will ever even know I have it.

I wonder what the German women who have been raped by the flybitten savages in the refugee camp thinks of Merkel's award? Or those folks who are being threatened and told to cover up and adhere Islamic social mores think of it? But hey, why let the freedom and well being of citizens who have done no wrong get in the way of a good social justice cause right? I mean, so a few innocent women get raped and some hard working German citizens get threatened. to hell with them. Look are all the "good" that is being done by brining those people in. http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6527/migrants-rape-Germany http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3247831/Rape-child-abuse-rife-overcrowded-asylum-centres-huge-surge-migrants-pushes-Germany-s-services-breaking-point-claim-womens-rights-groups-politicians.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3249667/Germany-state-SIEGE-Merkel-cheered-opened-floodgates-migrants-gangs-men-roaming-streets-young-German-women-told-cover-mood-s-changing.html http://www.reuters.com/article/us-europe-migrants-germany-idUSKCN0S02N220151006#mbdKS7KsXpA1sAVt.97

GD do you have another link to this story outside of Breitbart? Yeah Briebart is a crappy site with pop ups and adware. This is from the Chicago Tribune: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-uber-driver-shoots-gunman-met-0420-20150419-story.html

Does not know enough details to tell how it would work, but it's worth looking at. Seems she should be a bit more informed You know why she won't commit to a strategy now....if she does she will face the full onslaught of powerful and vociferous groups like the NRA who will really attack her on any idea and it will become a distraction The NRA is going to attack her no matter what. As Enoch pointed out this is just a ploy during the nomination process. Once she is nominated we'll hear no more of this. I gave you my honest opinion of Hillary's candidacy on the previous page.

This award stopped mattering they day the put a mirror on the front cover saying the Person of the Year is you. I think that was '06 or '07. Personally I think the Person of the Year should have been that Uber Driver in Chicago who pulled his licensed carry weapon and stopped a mass shooting in progress. But he barely made the news because the media didn't approve of what he did: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/04/20/concealed-permit-holder-stops-attempted-mass-shooting-in-chicago/

I spent the day catching up on the Walking Dead. Now I know why there were pictures of people walking around dumpsters looking for Glen.

GD.....I have never understood why you think there will come a day when the Federal government will resort to killing Americans to enforce this type of law, which I doubt will ever be implemented due all the resistance from influential groups like NRA I know you have explained this to me before but do you really think this is something possible .....and I wonder what other US members on these forums think about a possible future where the Feds resort to arresting and or killing American citizens for not complying with a law that wanted to confiscate firearms ? Also I can understand now why you probably dislike Hillary so much...when she makes these types of comments...she must be the antithesis of your acceptable politician Ok, I do like to engage in hyperbole on forums such as this one. Sometimes I'm posting honestly and sometimes I inject a little drama into it because it does make for good forum chatter. But my honest $.02 on Hillary would be that she would be a far less objectionable president that Barack Obama has been. Hillary Clinton is a sour, arrogant, dishonest and altogether unlikable human being. I do not think I'd want to spend even one second in her presence. Barack Obama is brittle and unfriendly but for that he is also thoughtful, moral, honest (in his own way and to his own ideals at least), and I think someone who is good to his friends and family. If you asked me which I'd rather have a beer with there is no question. However, Obama is a political ideologue. I think he genuinely believes most Americans are too stupid or incompetent to manage their own lives or make important decisions for themselves. He truly believes the proper role of the government is to be manager, guardian, and provider to it's citizens. The power of the State over the people is absolute in his view. He believes in honest government, benevolent government, and total government. He is exactly the kind of leader Hayek wrote about in his book "The Fatal Conceit" when describing the notion held by the educated elite that "they are as entitled to rule and those who claimed the divine right of kings". Of course the US system of government will not permit that so the best he could do is chip away at those annoying concepts like "individual liberty", and "limitations of powers". The truth is he has a done a considerable amount of damage to the freedom of this country. Hillary on the other hand is a machine politician. At heart she is as idealistically leftist as Obama and as arrogant in her view of the unwashed plebeians as he is. But she is less driven by that ideology and more concerned with outcomes. She will not start a fight she can't win with Congress or "die on an ideological hill" the way Obama would. She would be more open to deal making with the opposition to get something she wants. That pragmatism might make her a better President. I seriously doubt she would ever try something as radical as firearm confiscation. But her pragmatism aside she is still an opponent of everything Americans like me hold dear. I will not cast a vote for her that is for certain. I'd take any of the Republicans over her, even Trump. That does not make me a Republican. I despise almost every one of them but as I have posted before voting in the US has become and exercise of choosing the lesser of two evils.

When she slips the word "mandatory" in front of gun buyback, which she did, then it IS the same thing.
-
Yes this is all over the international media....Gfted1 when Trump makes comments like he did how do you feel? I'm battling to understand why you guys aren't more annoyed and or concerned ? I know I tend to perhaps overact to these types of comments but surly someone on this forum from the USA must be a little ......exasperated ? How do we feel? If I ever took him seriously as a candidate I guess I'd feel pretty bad. Or I wouldn't care (which is worse). But since I've always thought we was a buffoon I guess I'd say I'm not surprised.

With regard to Hillary, she is the only one who is actually talking about confiscating firearms. I wonder if she truly believes we'll just meekly hand them over when the time comes? Does she truly comprehend what the outcome of that would be?
-
One bad President won't bring down the country. But if you string 3-4 of them together...
-
Trump vs Hillary? It's like asking which butt cheek do you want the shot in. One one side you have a billionaire beholden to none (not even a sense of decency) and feels free to say anything the pops in his head. I can't imagine how that might go in world politics. On the other a millionaire with no sense of morals, who has told so many lies she no longer even remembers what's true, respects nothing, and looks at her fellow citizens with a condescending arrogance that is exceeded only by the current President. The thought that one of those two could become President makes me want to buy more guns, more ammunition, and more preserved food.
-
Careful, you are starting to sound libertarian. When a government can't be trusted to do anything right, doing nothing is the safest option!
-
Oh these two aren't wild. They are living in a pen with a rabbit house in my yard. The pen is pretty big with a "habitat" in there for them. Originally I was looking at keeping rabbits as livestock for the kitchen but my wife named the first two, we built them a house and that was that. But with everything that's happened I figured those two were fresh out of friends and they could fulfill their original purpose. But I guess I figured wrong.

Add this to the list of things you just have to have: That's right... a Death Star ice mold. Now every time you take a sip of your fine whiskey you can hear the imperial march music in your head.

I guess I had to find that out for myself Hurlshot
