  1. That makes two and two, anakin. He has race limitations. Look back in the thread if you haven't seen it - it's not much. What's your style of combat, Shin? I'm going the finesse/paladin-type route, hopefully. If you take control, you'll do more damage with your lightsaber hits. Do you want to use force powers or the lightsaber more?
  2. We should get in chat sometime and organize everything. I want to figure out how we all meet and all that. Really, whichever era you have a better story for is best. Ok, shin... which force powers do you like? I want diplomatic and sense skills, and supporting control OR (if at all possible) subterfuge skills. Do individual force powers take skill points? Or are they all, in a given area, only affected by the "attribute" of the three Force areas?
  3. Double on the dark look of Luke - even if Mark Hammill is sort of annoying. (Note that I still like star wars, and that includes luke to some degree... but hearing him try to act commanding and mysterious makes my skin crawl)
  4. Yeah, blue AND pink... that's REALLY gay (I don't subscribe to those non-sense standards, just teasing you) Pink, as a variant of Red, is EEVILL. Pink should rightfully be even MORE evil than red, even - so evil not even Palpatine would touch it.
  5. You totally failed to understand what I said. We are NOT talking about the same thing here. Have you ever read a book? What's a favorite?
  6. I always thought Kray-a, but never really thought about it much. Maybe "Atris" is a younger version of Kreia, and that Sith lord was a big turning point for her somehow, and thus ends up playing a fairly important role in the current story. Past coming to haunt her and all that.
  7. As far as I know, it's easier to do much better graphics on the X-box, but PS2 could technically be faster. I've never heard advantages/disadvantages of the GC.
  8. Ah-ha, that's neat. Explains why lightsabers seem to need more training than just how not to hurt yourself. Makes saber whips even more implausible, though.
  9. Well, I'd prefer having Force powers separate from attribute points, and if we have a non-jedi that means we won't have that option. Unless you don't mind that advantage of characters. It really doesn't make a huge difference, though. If you really want to be a non-jedi, I think that would be cool. I might make a non-jedi as well, though probably not. Idea... how about we coordinate force powers? If we have three Jedi, we could each specialize in one of the areas. I'll focus on sense.
  10. This is the d6 system, yes?
  11. Vader still spared the man, and he threatened. You could argue that someone who's inexperienced with anger in real life treats anger like a drug - they give in whenever they can, but after a while their anger is more controlled and thought ahead. It isn't any less horrible, though, if you consider the pain Palpatine made.
  12. To me it looks like she's over extending, and he's very confidently and effortlessly deflecting her blow. He looks pretty darned scary, too.
  13. I don't disagree that Torment had limited character creation. It was unbalanced, too. ...but I prefer playing the dev's character than no character at all. Fallout had awesome character creation, but that really didn't attach to the story at all. I felt like I was playing a strange entity, an extension of my will. It didn't feel like I was playing the main character, which PS: T did amazingly well. Someone argued elsewhere that character creation meant nothing if it couldn't be reflected in the game. Well, I agree, and I say character creation means nothing for character and story if it isn't reflected in the story. Honestly, I can't remember a single moment playing TNO felt meaningless, like I was just playing a game, but I felt that all the time in Fallout - and fallout was always FUN in combat and game, it always felt like something real was happening, but it just felt like I was playing a game, fiddling around and messing with game mechanics. The Trait's system, while it added character, was a nifty game mechanic, and had no effect on dialogue or story. If traits made your CHARACTER different, it wouldn't be "just a game mechanic". When you're watching a movie, you don't want to feel like you're watching a movie, and it's the same for games. You may feel that games are going to feel like games no matter what, but I (and I suspect most here) would totally disagree. You might cite that playing someone else's character ruins suspension of disbelief, but evidently tons of people manage just fine with "someone else's character", and there really isn't any way to totally expunge disbelief when you decide not to just let yourself ignore it when you're not playing yourself in the game. Unless you're a developer, you can't put your own character in a game. At. All. However, you can always "make your own character" and pretend there's enough there to define it as you, but you don't have to play an RPG to do that. Go play Star Wars: Galaxies or something. It has lots of character creation options, and it DOESN'T have Jedi. Just to make sure: I'm not with the above poster, at all. Unlike him, I think I actually understand vaguely what your problem is.
  14. George Lucas' strengths don't make his weaknesses and stupid fallacies a strength as well. I think he meant idiot when he made the Jedi sit and die like idiots. If you ask me, if you want to simulate strategically deep battles you needs someone who knows what to do.
  15. It's slightly bluish, but maybe it's still silver? I doubt they'd show that and never mention it, but whatever. Also, though this might've been another forum, there was some debate about a certain green lightsaber being unusually thick. Look at the video, and pause when it crosses over the water - it's expanding.
  16. I actually like the name Ataris better than atris, though. It has taris and atari in it, but tons have names have overlap like that. Well, bastila used one blade in the cinematics. Wouldn't be that hard to switch back to a single blade from a double, really. Not that I think Bastila is in either form, but whatever.
  17. Palpatine is harsher on his underlings than vader, though, and Vader's pretty harsh. When vader pointed that out, as well, he was sparing someone. Not exactly as you said.
  18. I have mixed feelings on the thrawn era. KotOR era is good, I think. Maybe between the first and second KotOR? That's my preference. I'm doing a Jedi too, I think.
  19. Yeah, it was. I'm guessing the framerate is higher overall, despite the incredibly minor hiccups every now and then.
  20. I guess that's because computer users have lots of other reasons to be using computers. Console's can't word process or use the internet in the same way computer's can. A lot more casual gamers have computers and buy computer games, thusly. The solution? Real difficulty to choices that are drastically different.
  21. You might call it a sort of blonde, but it's quite white. Unless you're talking about the woman in the walkthrough video? That wasn't the same girl. That was, "Arren Kae", if you'll watch carefully, and the main PC for that adventure. On another note... I know what happens. She's dating YOU, but you find out later in the story that Bastila never died, and YOU are Bastila. That's regardless of gender, folks - you just don't understand what plastic surgery can do. Even better... Kreia is actually Atris in disguise, who is really Revan - regardless of gender. It would explain why you have a Force bond to Kreia, right?
  22. Yeah, Ni and Atari... I like it... That CAN'T be what they're called. "I am... Darth NII!!!!" "No! No more!" "Ni!" "Nooo!!!" "I am Atari. I published NWN and it's expansion packs, and now I come to haunt you in human form with crappy paper sleeves and NINJA'S OF CD DESTRUCTION!!" Hey... here's an idea... Game magazines can't say anything LA won't let them, so they make up some names and stuff BASED on what they were told and/or found out. Maybe THAT'S how game coverage works?
  23. Heh... it does, sort of. I like it. It's very ethereal and dark.
  24. Have you checked yet? I suggest you do.
