By extension... could I spend a force skill point from alter on one of those combo skills, and use my control roll to use the power?
-
Does lightsaber combat count as one of our selected force skills, or is it automatic? Do we need to buy the skill with a point from control AND sense to use the Force lightsaber combat skill?
-
You mentioned before that having just a pip in a skill is better than trying to use that skill without any training; you can't handle a blaster very well when you've never handled one in your life. But... I put a pip into gambling, investigation, and search, and my perception is only two. What I want to know is: are the pips going to make a difference in these skills, or are these skills that function on the base level just fine without penalties or additional difficulty?

Cheers for RPG's that starts "high"

It makes them insane. Maybe insane doesn't mean what we think it does, what we assume it to be, but it's still insane. -
"Prosthetic Design: Advanced Skill: requires 5D or more in Prosthetic Repair to acquire." What does this mean? If we have 3d technical, we add 2d to the skill "prosthetic repair", do I have the option of picking this skill? Oh, and I see that the lightsaber skill can be used in place of melee parry. Can it be used in addition to melee parry, if we have that skill as well? Or is there really no point in actually putting anything more than a pip in melee parry in case I ever get stuck without a lightsaber?

Where did you get, "frungy" from? Is there somewhere that has a list of wierd skills like that? or something that would inspire the creation of such a skill?

Her eyes are a little too high set. The lips, as they are after the makeover, are really badly puckered and lack any character. I think the nose is sort of oddly upturned, but maybe I just looked at it too closely. The jaw's really not that big a deal after you do all of those things... if I could only put it up on the net somehow... As I have it, the lips still look crooked in an odd way. I have an idea of some things to try, though ... and no, I still have no idea.

No - fascists are a little nicer, but the absolute power thing is still there. I wouldn't trust it for their to be a Sith communist - it's not even a matter of realism.
-
I had some suggestions, but I decided to forgo them for how often I was changing my mind. I took the smudge tool, made some changes to what you made. I don't know how to put it up, though. It's not complete, but the basic idea is there - you could fill in the details, I don't think I'll bother.

Though communism ends up in the hands of dictators, (people can't know/trust eachother or predict eachother's motives on such a large scale... thus we have systems to offset some of that, and communism tries to destroy those systems...corrupt as they can be and, often, are) it isn't equivalent to fascism. The "idea", pure and simple, is of absolute equality. This works on, say, a village (for a limited time) or a family(sibling and adults of the family) scale (in a non-disfunctional family), but it doesn't work on the much larger scale involved with everyday life. There are no checks and balances in communism; the checks and balances are SUPPOSED to be in the people. Thus, someone with a communist (unless you mean fascist) ideal isn't necessarily evil. The fundamental basis of communism is just to lay out what's wrong and what should be improved with government - and I have to say, the US form of government tried to do that very thing. Without, of course, losing sight of reality. A "Sith Commie" couldn't technically exist - unless, again, you mean "fascist". There are plenty of fascists that go by the name "communist," but they aren't true communists. No one can be a true commie, sure; but the Sith belief in a totally opposite philosophy, one of tyranny and leaving behind the weak every chance they have. In communism, the idea is to have everyone on the same level, one way or another - with no one being left behind, and in practice people being "Dragged down". At least, I'm sure they Sith would call it that. Well, regardless of if anyone was talking about this, I saw a chance to blab about something on a philosophical level that I found really interesting So there.

What's he done? Since this was brought up, there was a little tidbit related to VO that someone put up at the Kotorfanfic.com site. http://www.wilwheaton.net/mt/archives/001643.php#001643 Will Wheaton talks about his audition for KotOR II in a web journal. (I'm not really sure who this guy is, but hey... whatever.)

I always thought episodes 1-3 were considered prequels because of the OT coming first. Right? ...or is GL going to say now that the OT was actually made AFTER ep. 3? Well, two plus two does NOT equal five! Blah. Reminds me of 1984.

There's a problem with the sequence of these things that I've noticed. In all the NPC party member quests, someone comes up and tells that character something from their past. If you visit the planet their quest would be on before they get a chance to talk to them, (I think you have to talk to said character, get through enough dialogue to meet this announcement character) you don't get the quest. It's broken. I've had this repeatedly happen in games that I rushed helter-skelter through just to try some other way of playing, or to find things I didn't find the first time. In two of my games, I never even met or saw Dustil. He just didn't exist. And for the first few games I never saw sunry's wife, until I played a game where an old friend talks to Jolee.

This is what I'm thinking, ender: There was something of a semi-rumor that the Sith armored person was a filler in your party, because they didn't have all the NPC's. Wouldn't it make sense if they kept building up NPC's and their subplots as the development cycle went? I'm sure they have plans for more than 10 total NPC's, but I'm thinking they already have at least the one's we've seen so far well-developed. The rest would be in flux because they don't know how much time they'll have. Gandalf (and everyone else who was bringing this up): if you don't recall, the first game had character's dying permanently. I don't suspect they'd know the frequency with which that would happen in the sequel. You don't need a full 9 party member roster at all times, ya' know, and I suspect the character's important to scripted plot events or with integral story/gameplay roles will die off before you really need them. At least, I'd hope not.
-
I'm already focusing predominantly on sense. It would be hard to change, because my character concept is pretty dependent on that. He's a knowledge- seeker, and a pilot/explorer. I suppose we could have two sensor's and change that later, though - it just might make party balance off at first. If sense isn't a part of your character or what you really wanted to do, you might consider taking something else.
-
Eru and John haven't said yet... Indalecio has said non-jedi, as did anakin before that last post saying it really depended on the others. Personally, I would prefer a mixed group.

Poll: Odds of Bastila coming back
nightcleaver replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Couldn't that, "tied destinies" thing mean up until a certain moment in time? Maybe Bastila will survive with amnesia like Revan.. heh... But yeah, if they think up a really awesome plot, and it mean's Bastila is dead, they might just use the plot anyway. -
You know: Wow. We've reached nine pages of complaining. I agree though.

I think he was saying that it removes the mysticism; instead of the person being strong in the force, it's the midichlorians. In other words, he wasn't being literal. But didn't someone say elsewhere that the midichlorians were possibly only a sign of greater force power? There will be a bot, and I quote, "with a suspicious resemblance of" HK. So it's a similar character, but probably not the same one. Unless they can do it really well, I hope it ISN'T the same one. I think HK was a model assassin droid from an assembly line, and Revan programmed him for improvements. Namely, giving him greater protocol functions - such as the sand people language.

weapons holstered instead of in hand all the time

I agree with this. -
Poll: Odds of Bastila coming back
nightcleaver replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If they'll ask questions about ANYONE, it'll be about Bastila and Carth. They were the two leads of the previous installment in the series, as I recall. That said: You can kill Bastila if you're lightside, and you HAVE to kill carth as darkside female. Darkside male, Carth is left on the unknown world, very likely to be dealt with later. I think it would be cool for Carth to escape and try to find revenge on male DS Revan, and you see that in some form in this sequel - but I would suspect that they just lump the two together, making Carth die by Revan's hand either way in the end. Yes, this is a different story - but as has been said before, people want something to remember the original in the sequel, and the sequel should be the continuation in a SEQUENCE of episodes. Bastila and Carth were central to the first plot, so I really don't see them taking those two as totally un-necessary. Well, anyway... I'll be happy as long as I hear what happens to the characters since the first game. -
Tales of Jedi Planets in KOTOR 2
nightcleaver replied to Nur Ab Sal's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That sounds friggin' awesome. Maybe it would be how the Jedi hid their recruits during this time period? If that would mean it was around in Dantooine time... well... did they have multiple Jedi Academy's at once? Or was this a different type, maybe a different level of, academy on this space ship?
