  1. Finally! A place where we can pick our noses in public!
  2. Hopefully this thread will remain more... civil... than the last thread on this subject. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your mother wears combat boots.
  3. To expand on your analogy, K2 is like a huge, beautifully wrapped gift on your birthday. To get the most satisfaction, you carefully untie the bow and maticulously unwrap the gift, so as not to rip the paper. Underneath the wrapper is a the box for that AT-AT you've always wanted (you've got to be a child of the 80s to understand that part). With absolute glee you open the box but are dismayed to find a brick with a gift certificate attached. Furthermore, that gift certificate is for Bed Bath and Beyond.
  4. If I could leave the planet, I would.
  5. Is your goal to see his portrait as a light sider or is your goal to unlock his influence gains? If it's the latter, just continue to lose influence and be consistant about it. Negative influence is just as good as positive influence. You just have to have a bunch of either one.
  6. Definitely worth buying. K2 has some nice features that make it an above average game but K1 is a much better gaming experience.
  7. We also can't make exact copies of homes and furniture and then return them after we have tested them out or looked them over. As far as the game and the posted article goes, I am tired of reading the same old reasons for why people don't like the game. Most of this comes from over analyzing. If you really thought about what happened in the game you would see that yes it seemed unfinished, but the story had the strength to make The Sith Lords a good game and well worth my 50 bucks. I really don't know what everyone was expecting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1.) Yes I know we can't do that and that is why I stated it is 'too bad we can't do that'. Who is over analyzing now? 2.) If you don't like reading it then don't. 3.) The problem isn't the story. That was just annoying, like a bad ending to a great movie. The problem is the bugs that got by beta testing for the Xbox and then somehow got through to the PC. The readme.txt file stated that KOTOR2 crashes if you remain in a place for too long without going to a new 'zone' within a certain time limit. How many products are sold in that state outside of the entertainment industry. I don't see a brand new Ford F250 stalling on the side of the road because you haven't turned on the air conditioner in the last 45 minutes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You obviously have never owned a Ford Taurus. That aside, I agree with you that major factor in why most people feel ripped off is the bug factor. This game had the feeling of a "pre-release candidate". The story falls under "had potential". It wasn't the best story in the world but if given the proper treatment, it could come off as one. Too much of the full story relied on many cut-scenes, some of which were only triggered when you jumped over hurdle A, swung on rope C, hopped in a circle and nailed a three point shot. K1's story was just as good as K2, however it had proper treatment and a fully realized ending. I still get shivers at how utterly cliched the LS ending was in K1 but I still enjoyed it and it was saved from totaly lameness by the production. Overall, TSL is the gaming equivalent to the reason why I now rent movies instead of watching them in the theaters. I didn't expect it to live up to K1, since very few sequels do, but I was not expecting to be let down as much as I was.
  8. One of these days, you have to tell what that stands for... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [off-topic, delete at will] (F)ionavar, (L)ord (o)f the (S)ith (D)onkeys. (O)bsidian (B)oard (E)mperor :D [/off-topic]
  9. That's odd. I'm currently playing K1, just to pass the time while I wait for a K2 patch. Anyhoo, I just reached the unknown world and in the conversation I just had with Candy he says how he's tired of raping and pillages worlds. He'd stick around until I was done with him and then he'd go in search of his own way because the time of the Mandalorians was finished. [off-topic] I thought I had seen everything in K1 but it turns out there's still a few stones left unturned afterall. [/off-topic]
  10. Come to think of it some of his fire had been extinguished in K1, if you had completed his side quest. After the conflict with Jagi, he got all weepy and self-reflective.
  11. I agree that Canderous in K2 is an old pansy compared to K1. However, he annoyed the hell out of me in K1. I just wanted to smack him but the game mechanics wouldn't let me. So instead I would dress him funny. Like putting him in that funky brown armor with the orange highlights and the light-scan "googly" goggles. Then I would arm him with a stun baton and send him after the rancors.
  12. I knew it was Canderous the first time I saw him, before he even started talking. When he started talking, that clinched it for me. When the Exile asks him why he's such a pansy, what with being Mandalore and everything, he does say that there are days where the only thing keeping him standing is the armor. Perhaps his memory is slipping.
  13. Did anyone else picture Wicket in Mandalorian armor? Just me? Forget I said anything.
  14. Memory wipes, which I think is a lame way to explain things. What I don't understand is why Candy doesn't recognize the droids. Or is he so old that he's starting to forget things?
  15. All the loose ends have been cleared up for me, either from forum topics, missing content, or just playing the game way too many times and reading all dialog possible. What I still haven't figured out: Why is the Disciple considered a betrayer? Who exactly is he betraying? What is he a desciple of?
  16. In K2, I found the LS/DS penalty to force powers to be mostly irrelevant. After awhile, you have so many force points and they seem to regenerate so quickly. Give her every buffing power avaialable. With the force bond, it's fun to see all the little blue arrows stack up in your portrait.
  17. Whenver I did the exploit, I would search the body until my frame rates crawled. I thought for certain I would crash a couple times.
  18. Like hobbits? I tend to go for flurry because there's litte to no penalties. Unless I'm mistaken, the best threat range you can get for critical strike is 11-20, so it's a 50/50 shot at extra damage. I haven't quite figured out how the extra damage is calulated so I don't know if that's a good trade off for the lowered defense.
  19. Can someone explain the crit breakdown for me? I don't understand how a 4x could net numbers that aren't multiples of 4. I've played these games more times than should be admitted but I'm still clueless when it comes to stats.
  20. [completely useless post] My PC slept through jedi class [/completely useless post]
  21. *grumble* *grumble* I'm too old to be a legend! *grumble* *grumble* Damn it, kid, you just wait until you're my age and see what they call you! *grumble* grumble* I'm too old and I've seen enough to earn the right to grumble! *grumble* [/bindo] He was an irritating old man but he could be funny sometimes. Mostly irritating though.
  22. He used to do the best high-res 3D Star Wars renders and he used to have a web page at jim.geek.net. Google produces various pieces of his work at various resolutions but I haven't seen a central site of his since jim.geek.net disappeared. Thanks.
  23. Light side, I haven't managed to get any NPC to mastery. Dark side, Visas reached it before my PC did.
