  1. HMMMM, maybe it's related to perception, resolve or some other attribute level? I have never talked to Wenan after getting the Searing Falls quest until much later when I've joined another faction. So, by then he won't have anything to do with me. I know that some of the dialogue choices require a very high attribute level to show up such as the Simoc dialogue (perception 20 or resolve 20). Or, maybe, it's just a bug as you say.
  2. Have you looked at the map on the table behind Wenan? Also, did you get the geological map from the chest in the room behind the merchant? I usually do both and have no problems with the quest. But then, I also don't run into many of the bugs others have reported either out of sheer luck or the blessing of the gods and the few I have encountered have been minor and easily resolved. (I am running my fifth party.)
  3. Did you check your options menu under game to see if auto-attack was disabled? If it is not disabled then it's a bug. I generally have auto-attack disabled see I can micro-manage my spellcasters to target specific enemies; e.g. wizards and druids otherwise they go after the closet enemy or the one initially clicked on in group. After they cast a spell I pause and give them orders.
  4. Since this is Eder's quest the game basically requires he is in your party when you find the metal standard. This is also true of Hirivias' quest as he has to be the one to fight his counterpart on Burial Isle. You just can't do it for them.
  5. That door requires that you first try to open it then go talk to the ghost in the far NE area again. When you talk to him the second time he gives you the oath that originally opened the door. Remember what the spirit breaking the machine said about turning the guardian souls against Nua? That is one of the dialogue choices that you'll have after returning to the door.
  6. Wenan is not the person to talk to about the cinders of faith quest. After getting the quest you have to go to searing falls and then return to the temple in the ducal palace to complete it. If you check your journal entries they usually will tell you who or where to go next.
  7. I use Durance with a poleaxe as backup melee when he runs out of spells that I frequently use. With exceptional armor and a recovery under -40% he does a good job as both spellcaster and backup melee.
  8. The NPCs with gold name labels are backer written stories and can be skipped instead of reading them. Killing them does not affect the story but may turn the locals against you if you are seen doing it. So, if you are really that bloodthirsty, leave no witnesses. As noted above, unnamed NPCs are not plot critical but like the backer NPCs their deaths can turn locals against you. Named NPCs fall into two categories generally quest related. Either they are the giver/object of a quest or a merchant. Money is not a problem in this game as selling off loot from quests and exploration provides more than you can spend by the end of the game unless you buy every unique item for sale even if it is useless to your party and style of playing.
  9. There is a baby Wurm that can be picked up as a pet in the endless paths on level 2. As for the spider, have you searched all the buildings and floors of the stronghold (not endless path) and the bushes on the grounds?
  10. Not sure what the issue is. Fampyrs cast charm and the charmed character should start attacking the rest of your party. If they are charmed then they are considered part of the enemy group and won't aggro except for being attacked by the rest of your party. If the character is doing nothing but standing around and still allows you to click on them to give spell casting commands that affect your party it definitely is a bug.
  11. Have you tried reloading the patch again? Is your copy from GOG or Steam? If it from steam the path should start with C:\Program File(x86)\Steam\...
  12. When you normally pick up Aloth he has that spell already memorized as he would be level 2 or 3, depending on how long you wait to pick him up. So picking him up at level 1 gives you a freebie (100cp) instead of choosing it on level up.
  13. Actually you are not supposed to get the two to fight each other. If you side with the lioness then you have to fight the bear; if you side with the bear you have to fight the lioness. The implication is since they could not defeat you then they were not worthy enough to fight and become champion. After you kill one or the other return to Galawain to complete the quest. I think they attack you because you are meddling in their affairs.
  14. Northeast of the junction chamber is a room of glowing Adra and five Animats with a Cean Gwla. Before leaving, inspect the Cracked Animat Armor lying on the earth by the Adra crystals. It contains the final element needed for Tcharek: Adra Shell. This shell should be collected for Tcharek as part of the side quest. At this point, backtrack to Level 13, speak to Tcharek, and conclude this side quest.
  15. I use traps and AOE spells without a problem. Use sneak/scout mode to get close to the mob and place traps. Then have your party far enough back so the mob have to run through the traps to get to you. Use one party member to sneak within bow range first and attack then run him back to the rest of the party. If you walk him/her around/beside instead of through the traps when sneaking the party member won't try to disarm the traps and can run through them without triggering them getting back to the party. This leaves your spellcasters able to throw AOE spells without getrting near the traps. If you want a spellcaster to initiate the combat have them sneak carefully around/beside the trap then run her/him back to the party through trap you just set without problem. If your cursor touches any trap it automatically goes into disarm mode so always click on safe ground when positioning party members. Hope this helps.
  16. Also, did you do the first quest for all three factions but not the second? Once you do the second quest then you are aligned with that faction and that is the faction you need to talk to to get the invite to the hearings after talking to Lady Webb.
  17. Went after Warchief Iklak for the bounty and ran into a bug. After killing all of his party the game remained in combat mode even though there were no other enemies around. Walked my party around the area thinking I might have missed someone but found zilch. Had to exit and reload the save prior to the battle. Second time no problem.
  18. These are the members of "The Forgotten" and they appear in the tavern after you kill them on the bridge. The gold name tags indicate their backstories were created by backers.
  19. I have been playing POE for several days now and have noticed a few shall I say discrepancies? The Rolling Flame spell does not work. Instead of going in the direction of the red path when you choose it the flame goes to the left or the right at almost 90 degrees from the path. This I also noted with another spell that shows a red path but forgot to note it down. In the Eothasian temple in Gilded Vale the silver key that opens the door to level two does not always show up when scouting. I have had two out of four parties find the key and the other two nothing shows up when scouting the room the key is in despite having the same mechanics score. This will be my running log of bugs as I find them with the various parties I'm running. Some of the traps in the game require either a very high level to disarm or cannot be disarmed as they don't show up as red (the chest in the two-story job, one of the sarcophagi for example) Had the "already activated" message on one spell also but after casting a different spell with the same character it went away. It did not prevent me from casting a different spell but just couldn't cast that spell until the message cleared. I also lost the deep pockets talent after fighting the thugs in the Valian embassy even though it remained listed in the talents section. Until this is fixed I just won't give that talent to any of my characters. Summoned earth blight in lighthouse by druid and after fight the blight remained on screen whenever I went indoors anywhere in Ondra's Gift. Summoned rain blight in lighthouse by druid and it kept raining on every level of the lighthouse. Armed to teeth for Kana showed active but only two positions not reddened out. Took item out of red slot and put it right back in and slot returned to normal. Happened several combat episodes (even when only fighting beasts) then stopped happening after exiting game and going back in. Aloth stuck in fireball cast when using last fireball of amulet. Fireball icon over his head but he did not respond to any commands even after combat over and the fireball never occurred but the amulet disappeared. Had to save, exit game and reload to get him back to normal.
  20. With all four parties that I've run so far I have sent one party member with a mechanics score of 4 scouting into that room and twice found the key.
  21. Pallegina needs to go with you to the embassy initially to open other dialogue options. I usually have her in the party when I get the The Forgotten quest but I think after the initial visit to the embassy with her you can come back without her and get the quest.
  22. I did all the levels of the Endless Paths with mechanics at 8 and had no trouble finding things. Some of the traps in the game require either a very high level to disarm or cannot be disarmed as they don't show up as red (the chest in the two-story job, one of the sarcophagi for example). Always save before trying to open chests and sarcophagi as they may not show as trapped.
  23. If you accept the second task of any of the factions your are automatically locked into that faction even if you don't complete the quest. Lady Webb encourages you to join one of the factions because it will give more credence to your words than going as a representative of hers.
  24. Sometimes the spell description (right click on spell) states "enemy AoE" which means only enemies are targeted. If there is only an area of effect noted then you can check by clicking on the spell while paused in combat and look at the AoE indicator. If it is red with a light blue outer ring then anyone in the red area will be affected but only enemies are affected in the light blue area. A solid red circle or cone with no light blue means all are affected. You have to position the spell so that only enemies are hit. You can tell who is going to be hit by the shape of the indicator at their feet; it will change from a solid circle to a cross or X like circle. The pause feature is a boon when targeting spells.
  25. Had the "already activated" message on one spell also but after casting a different spell with the same character it went away. It did not prevent me from casting a different spell but just couldn't cast that spell until the message cleared.
