What are you playing now?
Not to mention they "really" screw with people who've played the original. REmake is one of the best games ever. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't remember a lot about the game since I haven't touched the original in quiet a while, but I was definitely expecting to know my way around the place. Good changes I would say though. ... I'm not alone when I say this game is hard right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well.... umm.... Maybe it comes down to playstyle. what's giving you difficulty? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Normal. I"m not wining or anything, I'm having a lot of fun. I just don't remember the classic RE games being this hard. Jill can only takes one hit before being knocked into caution (so far, I've only fought zombie, super zombie, zombie dog and giant snake.). The second hit will probably knock her into orange caution, danger or it might just kill her. Third hit from normal zombies is definitely death. Handgun seems fairly underpowered compared to previews games. It does little almost nothing against zombies unless you empty a whole clip, the dogs don't flinch very often either and I imagine using it again other enemies is not a very good idea. Also, knocking down zombies seems like a fairly bad idea since it leads to a lot of backtracking since you don't want them coming back as super zombies. Shotgun seems like the best weapon, but ammo is so scarce... That's the only real part I'm having some trouble with. I've always wanted to do that to someone... I've never gotten the chance.

Larger castle(s) to explore with much more varied areas. Great music, lots of items, abilities and Secrets to discover. It also feels a lot more "open" then the newer games. Also doesn't have the needless and annoying anime crap these latest incarnations have. You should definitely revisit.

What are you playing now?
<3 <3 Portrait of Ruin. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bored of it yet? I sure am. I think they need to try something new for the next Castlevania. The Metroid formula is already old. Playing Resident Evil for the Gamecube. Game is VERY good. I wasn't expecting much beyond a face lift. They really ramped up the difficulty and the game is even more frightening then I remember... I'm struggling a lot just not dying and ammo is quiet scarce.

Just finished Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Very disappointing. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin next.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Okay. I've installed the 1.30 beta patch. I can finally play the game! 1024x768 resolution, medium texture, low shadows, bloom on and x4 AA. Very solid 30+ FPS. It's also not stuttering as much and it feels much more smoother. I'm getting through the initial part of the game, hopefully it won't crash when I travel on the world map.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Sounds like my kind of site. Those fixes that is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Basically it's a compilation of fixes that have been talked about on the official forum. Back to waiting. Now I'm getting stuttering regardless of settings. Completely unplayable now, just beautiful.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Gonna give the game another shot! Found a bunch of fixes on a certain site. I would link to it, but I'll probably get in trouble for it (the site links to a securom destroying program and a no CD/DVD patch).

Go Camping for a PS3!
Who knows? Japanese PS3 Ebay sales are not selling for outrages numbers...

So how buggy is NWN2?
Only thing that is stopping me from playing is the fact that every time I travel on the world map the game crashes.

Volourn's Early Final Fantasy 12 Impressions
This man speaks the truth. ... Anyways, I think I'm further then most people around here... The Gambit system is interesting. Basically, the better Gambit you setup, the less you actually have to do in battle. I'm conflicted... Is this a good thing? All my characters have some basic commands... Heal when HP is low, remove major status effects, raise fallen allies. I also gave some characters very specific task such as using heavy elemental spells against a monster's weakness or crippling monsters with enfeebling magic. The only thing I ever have to really do is switch out characters/equipment and start a Mist chain every once in awhile... I'm about 30 hours into the game... Initially, my thoughts about the story were very much like Calax's... Now however, it's growing rather absurd I'm afraid. The game is still very fun though. One thing this game definitely got down right is exploration. Huge areas to explore, with a lot of treasure to discover.

Games you are looking forward to
Persona 3 (PS2) Etrain Odyssey (DS) Jeanne d'Arc (PSP) That's about it for now.

What are you playing now?
Final Fantasy XII. (Only because I can't play NWN2.)

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Man, I really want to just sit down and play the game. But it seem like every time I manage to set it up so it's actually playable, something else goes wrong! Vague spoilers: Just wonderful.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Hurray, now I'm crashing when I travel on the world map.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Question, if it's ok. What are your specs? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> P4 @ 3.2GHZ 1.00 GB of Ram ATI x800xl Pretty much the recommended specs.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Define everything. Did you turn off shadows completely etc? I find shadows are a big lag inducer for some games. Even if my computer can run with them, it's always better with them off. I'll be curious to see how it does on my system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Changing resolutions, turning off shadows, switching filtering methods and texture quality. The only way to gain a substantial increase in performance is to basically run it at minimal settings.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Holy crap... is it possible to get a decent frame-rate on a mid-range system? I've tried everything and it's still not getting a stutter free experience.

What are you playing now?
Neverwinter Nights2!!! :D
-
NWN2: Forumite Impressions
Damn it, I want the game. My local Gamestop still doesn't have it's copies.

Anyone looking forward to FF12?
I development... and it's being milked dry before it's even released!
-
What are you playing now?
Contact. Gonna head over to Gamestop tomorrow... Trade in a bunch of crap and hopefully leave with Neverwinter Nights 2, Final Fantasy XII, Fatal Frame 2 and if I have anything left, Children of Mana.
-
I'm gonna be broke! :(
Neverwinter Nights 2 and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin will probably be the last two games I buy this year. Rumor is, if you open the the manual it says "Press A repeatedly to win the game!"
-
What are you playing now?
Finished up Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner... it was okay. Playing through Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and Contact right now. Hopefully I can finish them before Neverwinter Nights 2.
-
Now that NWN2 is finished...
I didn't realize NWN2 was almost here. (w00t) Those system requirements are steep... I wonder how accurate they are.

Anyone looking forward to FF12?
You don't even need Aura... Just keep Squall at 1/2 HP all the time and keep pressing O until his limit break comes up (that works for everyone).
