And I agree about the fact that the even with "Movie update" the movies aren't looking any better <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry, i reacted too quickly. Theme's and such are stereo (44kHz), i was unlucky enough to check those with mono (some battle-tunes).

I've got two problems with this patch: 1. The movies are at bigger resolution, but the interlacing is still there. 2. The audio quality is higher (176kbit compared to 10kbit) but it's still Mono at 22kHz

The high-res movie/music patch has finally been released. With the TSL-mod, we'll finally see what Obsidian originally intended with this game.

I think $50 a year is a great price for the service you get with Live. It's not just "PC online gaming", it's an entire closed system, with voice service, text serivce, everyone on a mic ready to talk, buddy lists, Live aware, tracking systems, and DL content. Added next gen, there will be video chat, and the GUI will be far more expanded, including stat tracking and feedback. Granted, most all of these can be found on the PC, but in order to take advantage of them, you have to get everyone on the "same page", with the Live environment, you can meet random people, and instantly have access to all these features with them. While it may not be your thing, it's a solid system, that is, in my opinion, the best online model ever created. I look forward to when MMORPG's explode on it, and all these features will carry into them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Live is good for the Xbox, no question about that. I see no use for it since, as you already stated, the same services are already available on the PC. That's why i'm interested in what Sony and Nintendo has to offer as an alternative (hopefully not as half-assed as you put it).

If Sony's idea of online is similar to what we see in the PC community, then i'm all for it(free?). Xbox Live is something that i'll never accept, i refuse to pay for a service, which is free on the PC-side.

Which games are those? Developed in-house by EA, that is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I buy their sports titles, which EA develops in-house. And considering that EA bought Maxis, one could say all the Maxis titles are really in house. I'll definately be buying Spore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> EA bought them out in 1997, which leaves to give EA credit for one game: The Sims. In order to continue this discussion, if EA collapsed in 1993, would the industry be in a bad situation if that happened? (Don't counter with "I don't deal with 'if's'" )

UPDATE: On top of school work, my cat managed to get get so ill, that surgery was needed, which leaves not much time for gaming. I can't say when i have the time to try it out, but it will not be before this weekend.

On the other hand, will Oblivion be as big as Morrowind?

There's alot of talk about PST's combat here, but no matter, combat has never been one of the reasons on why i like a RPG (except maybe for Halo).
