  1. Source: Kotaku.com The train wreck that is the 360 Japan Launch continues. Unloved 360s consoles collect dust, and retailers are unable to return those unwanted Xbox 360s to Msoft due to contractual obligations. To cut loses and cover their arses, stores are left with no choice but to offer discounts. The originally 38,800yen (about $350 US) consoles have been lowered to 18,800yen (about $150 US) with Internet Service Provider contracts so that the shop could get some kickback money from the IP. And this is what, four days from launch? Hmm, i might import one for that price
  2. Yeah me too, reinforcements pronto! P.S. Meshugger why did you add yourself twice? P.P.S. Nice cat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Severe mouse trigger incompetence
  3. Yup, i'll watch it in the near future.
  4. Yeah, blue and green. I think it's turkish angora, one of the few breeds who are furry and are odd-eyed.
  5. I had no pictures of myself, so it ended up with our cat.
  6. Most anime look very shallow, but they have the characterdevelopment and story that surpass most western comics/movies/series.
  7. //UPDATE: It's been a while and i have watched the following anime: (Hellsing and Cowboy Bebop were dubbed, the rest were in japanese) "Hellsing" -"Releasing contract restrictions to level 3.....2....Unlocking limited release control system to level one. Situation A, the Cromwell approval in now in effect. Holding release until target is silenced. Now i show you how REAL VAMPIRES DO BATTLE!". Badass throughout the the whole series, me likey. "Berserk" -Again a badass main character, very dark and suprisingly good character development. No magic or summons, just swords and blood. Ruthless ending. "Ninja Scroll" (the movie) - A very grim and dark movie, i can guarantee this to any ninja fan. "Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust" - Not your typical vampire movie, very beautiful and good storyline. "Samurai Deeper Kyo" - Oni meno Kyo is like Alucard, never admits defeat and humiliates any foe, the story felt a bit too short though. Excellent blend of action and humor. "Samurai Champloo" - Very stylish and amusing characters. The story isn't much, but the trio of Fuu, Jin and Mugen are hilarious. Especially the episode with the Dutch homosexual. "Rurouni Kenshin" - Has to be one of my favourites, excellent characters and story. Oro? "Hunter X Hunter" - Also in my top5 anime, the friendship between Gon and Killua is excellent aswell the whole adventure the go through. "Neon Genesis Evangelion + the movies" - Best story of any anime, filled with symbolism and deep characters. Worst ending also. "Scrapped Princess" - An uplifting anime, the plottwist was unexpected. Lot's of humor. "Trigun" - Very goofy at first, but the whole outlaw in the west-theme got me. "GunGrave" - Again, great character development and excellent story. Recommended to any fan of a good story. To make it less "anime" it's a mobster anime set in an american city. "Grave of Fireflies" - Saddest anime that i've seen. Don't watch it when you have a hangover. "Escoflowne" - Has to be a personal favourite. Packed with epic story, existensialism, mechas, samurais, innocent pubertly love, despair, hope + an excellent soundtrack. "S-Cryed-O" - A future post-apocalyptic scenario, the story is pretty good, but the characters makes it even better. Over-the-top final battle. "Cowboy Bebop" - Interesting theme, a future with bounty hunters in space. In my top5 because of the art direction and character chemistry. And i'm crrently watching Bleach, the story is ok:ish, but the again the art direction (I want to be a Shinigami!) and characters can easily make this a "top10 must see"-anime. I'll give the following a try aswell in the future: - Samurai 7 - Gundamn Seed - Last Exile - The Slayers - Fushigi Yuugi - Full metal Alchemist Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.
  8. Baten Kaitos on the gamecube. Very interesting battle-system. A quote from Eurogamer:
  9. Yay! A game set in the colors of white and gray! I can hardly wait! (w00t)
  10. I already know the reasons on why Jerusalem is important for the Jews and Christians. Other than the giant gold-mosque, what historic reference do Islam have to the holy city? Just curious.
  11. Which are ? Priness Leia outranked both Han and Luke and they were generals. I think General is a rank they just give to Jedi on the battlefield I've never heard of a Jedi refered to as any other millitary rank. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure. Princess Leia also got captured...what, twice? Had to be rescued. That blue Twi'lek Jedi in Episode III? Dead. Not even a fight, just dead. Bastila? Didn't she get captured and whatnot? I recognize that Jedi come in as generals on the battlefield, and I'm simply arguing that war is the male province. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The celts had ferocious female warriors and chieftains, but that belongs in another thread. Back to KotOR III, it should have the same amount of character customization as Soul Calibur III (2^60 different combinations IIRC). I've seen people create everything from a fat arabic assassin to Bill Gates with a dagger.
  12. Thing is, where can the story go? Say there's another adventure for the Exile and that pissant Revan, in which they either fight whatever's out in unknown space or come back to the known galaxy to defeat/take part in some great evil. What then? Do they just go off into retirement? That's essentially the same thing as heading out into unknown space to never be heard from again. If they don't go into retirement, what do they do? More adventures? Storyline's not over then, is it? What's the satisfactory ending? Both games had an ending, and you're saying you want more. Why wouldn't you want more at the end of the next one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I said it before, there wasn't a need to continue the story after KotOR 1, but they did it anyway. I don't see a reason to stop now either. Why can't the main character be a catalyst of events instead the "chosen one"? That would give fit to the story better IMO. Also, they "broke" the d20 rules already in KotOR 1, making the player able to max out in a mere course of 1-2 months and almost completely threw them out of the window in KotOR II. I therefore, see no reason to use the d20 rules as an argument. And i say it again, i never intended the player to actually have Revan or the Exile in their party, let alone control them, the player should be able to interact with them the highest. They should however, play a major role in the storyline as the game progresses, and if they die during the course of the game, then let it be in a blaze of glory.
  13. What story ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No need to pick straws. You don't see a story worth continuing, but i do.
  14. If it was your baggage to start with then perhaps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, i see. The devs can claim no responsibility of the stories they made, and go lazy with doing a new story. Fair enough for you, not for me.
  15. Of course not. But i don't want throw the story down in the dumpster either.
  16. Too much baggage. I'd be more inclined to agree if we were not at the start of a new console generation. But we are , so I wont. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If can't handle the baggage, then you shouldn't have packed it in the first place. I don't see a reason to compare FF to KotOR either, especially FF VII. Sephiroth died and the world was a safer place, even 500 years in the future. There was no buildup for a greater enemy, and no inconclusive ending.
  17. The KotOR series can break away and start fresh after they finished the Revan/Exile story in KotOR III. KotOR IV could be set 400 years after the events of the previous KotOR's, making a new start or even a new trilogy. Or even 6000 years later with the New Republic and with the Skywalker trilogy buried in history.
  18. :D That would be nice and simple. "Died fighting against True Sith." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And stupid as hell <_<
  19. Youre never going to get that. IF, K3, against all odds, ends up getting funded and developed it will be released sometime in 2008 at the earliest(if production would start tomorrow) at which K1&2 will be long forgotten and so the devs will start over and so K3 will most likely have nothing except the brand name in common with previous games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If a developer uses that argument: "KotOR II was released 3.5-4 years, people have forgotten the story" as an excuse for making KotOR III without any continuation of previous KotOR's, then they're ignorant and in denial, possibly both.
