Strangely enough, there's an article that echoes my thoughts: http://www.nichegamer.net/2014/10/on-gamers-culture-and-gamergate/

ISIS Group declares itself Pro-Slavery: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2014/10/13/isis_yazidi_slavery_group_s_english_language_publication_defends_practice.html So brave.

That is as much as objective as to asking Von Däniken why the US government is hiding UFOs. Is it to much to ask for a sociology scholar/professor, with no previous affiliation with feminism, to conduct some research?

Who are those few people? And how did they manage to dupe everyone?

This ride just keeps on giving, i tell you.

Aside for the usual "nerds reacting to change"-bahooola, something hilarious was mentioned here: According to Brianna Wu, IGN and Giant Bomb are pro-GG. ..... ... .

Nobody? Okay, let me give you folks a picture of the same musician slightly older, hopefully that will help: First picture I couldn't place him, but the second... Thanks, now i have been listening to Grateful Dead liveshows for the whole day

So... when someone quotes something that vaguely applies but was said about grander things, you must condemn a group of people for having someone that was dumb enough to quote it? Great. You have to be against the human race. Remember when Bill Hicks freaked about someone in his audience yelling "Free Bird"? That's how I'm starting to feel now. He died for our sins.

It was a review in the local newspaper. The reviewer claimed that the ending was changed, but bah, i have to see it myself i guess.

I know, they should quote John Carmack instead. Chicks dig that ****, i can tell you.
-
So, you're against people quoting MLK and Malcolm X? Are you some kind of supremasist or something, boy?

The best troll is never discovered. One example i used several times is to go to any cinema/homestudio-forum and claim that 4:3-ratio is inheritly better than 16:9, 16:10 and so. Preferbly with made up graphs outragous arguments about FOV of the human eye and so on.

What tweet did he refer to and what article is he talking about? Tweet that he is referring to is that "Oh and **** that Escapist article giving a platform to madmen" Tweets in picture are ordered chronologically so that oldest is on top and newest is on bottom. I changed it so that it would be easier to read. I am not sure which article he refers as he didn't tweet any links, but I would have to guess it is this http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/features/12383-Game-Developer-GamerGate-Interviews-Shed-Light-on-Women-in-Games , because of madmen reference. Thanks! But i wonder what he means by madmen. Is this the opinion of a madman? (Daniel Vavra) It has to be something more though, because judging by the article above, it sounds to me that Jim doesn't like winners at the game of life.

I found this post interesting as it raises some relevant and philosophical points around this discussion I'm not sure I completely understand all you are saying but do you equate people who want equality in games as the same as people who think a classic painting can't be admired anymore because its inherently racist ? It's about being unable to appriciate beauty, life and most importantly: truth, because of viewing the world through a political dogma. For them, a poem by Walt Whitman is not a wonderful description of summer landscapes; it is fantasy created by the mind of a white, privileged heteronormative man that has no worries of the world and is only popular because of the patriarchy. 'Racist' in my previous example was just a random prejorative, it could be anything they do not like. Political dogmas that do not allow dissent are the easy street in life for the mentally stunted, and especially for those that hurt, hollow and need quick fix to blame someone else.

They simply want to be offended.

Are they seriously suggesting that managers, business leaders and organized crime bosses are more likey to spend their time trolling the Internet than others? As you may have heard, those traits (narcissism, machiavellinism, psychoptahy) have historically been attributed to the those kinds of shady people.

It has to be tough knowing that there are people out there with an opinion about a hobby should be focused on men or women. Lets change the hobby itself so that feelings are accomodated. How? Well it is best if just everyone learns to stop having fun, hate everything and adopt a common framework where everyone should deconstruct the hobby according to certain political theories. What the heck is wrong with these millennials with their gender politics on not just a mere hobby, but on life itself? Enjoy a sunset by the beach? No, not everyone is witnessing it equally represented according to their needs. Some people do not have access to the beach, what about them? Having fun at a party? No, some cannot eat the food and some do not like the alcohol, which makes it exclusive and the fun cannot exist without everyone sharing it. Be mesmerized by a beautiful painting? Of course not, the painter was an oppressive racist and the painting describes and trivializes the suffering of minorities. So what if it was painted 1841? Our morals are eternal! By the way, we really need to change old books so that they better suit the current political climate. It's not censorship, it's an "update!". Soft language for this despicable behaviour also used, catchphrases like "Controlling the narrative", or "Leading the debate" are often used instead being direct that they are not interested open debate. I think that these people are not rebels, not like the generation before them. They are not fighting for more individual freedom, they are not listening to "dangerous" music or reading "outragous" books. It seems like there is no medium for them to express their ideas of art and culture....until games came along, thanks to cheaper and more simple technology to develop on. For great art to become emergent in a culture, there is a need of spiritual or actual strife and suffering. So i wonder, has any one of them actually been in a fight? experienced pure simple joy? actually been in love? I am guessing, "no". If they have, i suspect that they still haven't coped from a broken heart, a broken promise, shame or loss of dignity. Their mannerisms seems to show that they are spiritually broken, and have a lot of self-hatred. And such negative traits usually manifests themselves in lack of control and trust in their own feelings and judgement. Thus since they cannot control, understand or trust themselves, they reach out in a desperate attempt to control others in a glimpse of jealousy. If they cannot win at life, no one can. They aren't special, then either everyone has to be, or no one is at all. Their false love for a medium has turned into pure, tyrannical hatred.

...and in today's news of GamerGate: Kotaku writing about corruption with youtube-reviewers/LPs: https://archive.today/SgCx8 Francis, that fat, white, cis-privileged neeeeerd with his channel of 1.9 million subscribers, did not like it: Oh, guess who wrote the article? Nathan Grayson.
