The guy that attacked the shirt guy worked at Polygon and was on the GameJournePro-list before this. It's the same arguments as being used against GG, basically.

I have to applaud the animators at Bioware, her facial expressions perfectly align to drugged up dialogue and mostly: Look at mr. Inquisitioners face, that is the only normal reaction to those kind of lines.

Btw, i like you are still willfully ignorant that these post-modernists, SJWs and third-wave feminists are not interested in justice, beauty and truth. They deny all of these virtues because: - There is no "truth". Only personal experiences to one's existence. - There is no "beauty". Only subjective pleasures to one's existence. - There is no "justice", since one person's justice can be in direct conflict with another person's concept of justice. What is only left is power. Power, to control the narrative, language, and behaviour of others. Is this morally good to you Bruce?

Dude come on, you are being very dramatic..you can't be serious? You are taking this whole thing waaaaaaaaaaay too seriously If you're not serious, then why even bother to complain about his clothing? why even agree with the people out to shame him? Look in the ****ing mirror already. Of course I'm serious about my point, I can understand why he apologized without pressure from feminists and SJW. He apologized because he wanted to, simple as that But that doesn't mean now this is an orchestrated campaign by SJW to control mankind and have dominion and power over all. You are being completely dramatic, that's the part that I mean is not serious He was bullied and shamed to submission to appease people that hate, and you support it. Nor do you seem to care about the absurdity of the situation when it was a celebration for the first spacecraft that landed on a comet. You are ok with him being judged for this and you are now ok with judging me on how dramatic my language or behaviour is.

I really don't think comments like this are very helpful. I am sorry, but my jimmies are seriously rustled when i found out that he had to publicly appologize. It's not a question of different opinion, it is a grand declaration of war to everything that is good in this world. The gloves are now off and it is open season. I know, I am angry about it too. But bringing rape victims into it, even in jest, really doesn't help. I know you don't mean harm with it, but imagine one of our board members might actually have a history of being raped and they'd see your comment. It's not your intention to hurt anyone (with possible exception of Bruce) but you might still, inadvertently. No he hasn't hurt me at all but you are right about those types of comments being potentially very hurtful to others I just get annoyed that people want to try to diminish the heinous deed of rape in order to make a point Stop dodging the question, stop trying shift this about hurtful comments and answer already. Why should he be judged on his clothing and others should not? What morally good comes out of this? Of course others are judged on there clothing, that's the nature of society. We judge people everyday about there appearances So scientific advances go into the backseat when it comes to judgement of clothing? Is that an ethic that you would consider admirable? Is judgement of appearance only good when it comes to shaming people?

Also, this with Pakman being labeled as bully for covering GG. There's not much a lone guy can do, but atleast i will not continue see this situation as something funny for an outside observer. I now see it as a force of hatred that tries to put humankind down the ****ter as fast as possible, and i will try to expose them as the frauds they are. They have continued to use bully tactics and shame to get what they want, and what the want is power. They are "progressive" as in terms of making people hate themselves, their friends and society at large because it is not their kind of progressiveness. These.****ing.people. That's why i ask Bruce and everyone that agrees with him: What is morally good by supporting this kinds of ideas?

BruceVC: If the scientist guy needs to appologize for his choice of clothing, should rape victims have to do that as well?

Pfeh, some fuzz over a shirt. The guy should've just said "I'm wearing this shirt because **** YOU, i landed a space craft on a comet, that's why" and enjoyed the butthurt soggy knees breaking everywhere. The thing is people, some people are more awesome than you, and always will be. Even if you will project your hatred for not realizing your goals in life, some people will not only meet them, they will excel at them and be revered by humanity forever. Now go back pretending that you have the toughest job in the world that, accidently enough, no one cares about.

I don't know whether I should consider hilarious or scary that questioning the status quo is considered the position lacking in critical thinking. I wasn't talking about arbitrary social systems in the game of life. I was talking about physical and mental traits, the only way to not play it is to die. You missed my other point as well, look at Nonek's post.

Or you know, societal structures expect women to conform to certain standards of beauty and have socialized them into wanting to conform to those standards of beauty. I know this thread is basically a circle-jerk, but come on, this is pretty basic stuff. It is even broader than with one sex. Humans are social animals after all, so arguing for the abolishment of such with "you are beautiful just as you are"-arguments is just BS. Better learn what cards you have at the game of life and use them to the fullest for your own self-improvement instead. But these authoritarians hate that, because it creates individuals capable to their own critical thinking, and we can't have that, can we?

Listening to this now and it's really interesting. I'd like to see some numbers but if that's true, it pretty much comes down to "a female player, when given the option, will most often play the most idealized, 'sexy' babe". Anyone have any sources for this? I would really love to see some hard data on what female players pick. Of course, people will just point out "internalized misogyny" or something but still. Yeah, i would like to see that as well. Try switching the tables a bit about "internalized misogyny". Lets say that men like to play big, bulky, muscular men because of their internal misandry. But they don't....why then it has to be only women that have internalized misogyny, but that in turn is sexist. So either the phrase "internalized misogyny" is sexist in itself, or it is completely BS. Back to the drawing board, my dear SJWs.

He even calls GG a libertanian phenomenon in the article, but never mentions the individual political leanings of the participants. I would say that is a fair description of it.

Me neither. But i guess that she is like good 'ole Thompson.

Most people realize that is a ridiculous adage. If you go through your life never getting hurt by words, you are quite likely a sociopath. Getting hurt by words is a consequence of any free society. Trying to abolish bad words and malicious intent (=badthink) is the first step to any totalitarian society.

For anyone still confused about all of this, ask yourself the following: - Is this "movement" or whatever you might call it, supported by people working in the pornography industry? - Does this "movement or whatever you might call it, generate the best satire and jokes about what it fights against? The first question is about uncontrolled lusts and desires. Any authoritarian movement seeks to limit the access to it or change it to their needs, since personal pleasure undermines the authority of those that tries to control it. The second question is about reflection, inner and outer. Satire and sarcasm requires a questioning mind and it also undermines the authority that it jokes about. If the target cannot understand or tries to stiffle satire, then you know that it is authoritarian in its very nature. If you answered yes to both questions, then you know what kind of people that are associated in gamergate.
