Considering the level sophistication used for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuxnet i do not know what to think, except that the US government has access to some very good black hat hackers.

Journalism and sexism in the games industry
Meshugger replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
Has this been posted? https://8chan.co/gamergate/res/149585.html They seem to be serious about it. //edit: Godspeed, you glorious bastards -
Woldan, you should freelance for National Geographic. Your pictures aren't just beautiful, they're art.

They better have some proof rather than hearsay. Lots of money involved there.

During the Cold War the Russians were very keen to infiltrate counterculture movements to undermine the West they obviously didn't think it was pointless, specially since they used those methods to subvert Afghanistan. Nowadays you see the result of what the Left has brought, you just have to look at Sweden to see an extreme of what this ideology means when it affects politics. Plus you have them also affecting the media because they want to preach their ideology, therefore they have turned entertainment into a political battlefield. Maybe you don't see this a relevant but sadly your opinion doesn't change the fact that if they are ignored they will end up controlling the medium as they did with Games Journalism and the Indie scene. These are not isolated incidents as other facets of nerd culture have been affected, namely the tabletop and comic book communities. Hi Guys I'm back from my Xmas holiday, I had a great time Do you really see the GG movement as significant as the ideological conflict of the Cold War? I'm not sure if you being serious? Your comparison really doesn't work, that's like saying that because someone talks about a shooting that they see it as a war. The means are the same but the scale is different. But when you see the influence of feminism and leftism on academia and education; probably because that's one of the jobs that you can get with a liberal arts degree, you begin to realize that they are brainwashing a generation into a totalitarian way of thinking. The fact is that before this whole thing I had some misconceptions about the influence that they wielded, I thought that it was restricted to game journalism with its clear lack of ethics and standards who picked bloggers because the medium isn't held to a higher standard. But now I begin to see that ideological inclinations matter more to them and how it affects their work. I saw how the traditional media covered the story and learned about how the news will run things without fact checking, I saw how throughout colleges across white nations there is now an anti-white ideology masquerading as multiculturalism. The problem of the SJW isn't merely restricted to the internet, that is just where it finds its loudest voice, the real danger is the quiet ones that say nothing but do on behalf of their insane ideology. Now we begin to see those and how they have gotten things to this point. I really want to believe you because you generally make very accurate posts that can be succinct or detailed, but always interesting, but I'm just not convinced about the apparent insidious, influential and pernicious nature of SJW. And if you can't convince someone like me you may battle to convince others Its a little dramatic wouldn't you say? If you are honest with yourself you should see I'm right Orogun01's scepticism isn't exactly new in any way. Other famous persons have said similar things before: I happen to agree with that as well.

I figured it out... Why RPGs seem to be going down hill.

I figure myself as an artist too edgy for a patreon account. -

Judging by the content of this thread, one can easily demonstrate the state of RPG's in the form of Tom Petty videos: In the beginning, everything was exciting, fun and filled with unchartered waters Now, the industry is just a steady decline to the worst ...but with some oddballs that are still fighting the good fight -
It is? I had no idea.

Alright, back from the holidays, spent playing D:OS, eating ham and enjoying the company of my extended family. For now, i will endulge you guys with some nice tweets. Gamasutra didn't even like gamers before gamergate: The only way to confront con-artists enjoying the support of the "intelligentia" is to simply mock them: Orwell's warnings are still in the highlight:

Hum, twitter apparantly went all berserk, all while i was typing my previous post. Someone posted child porn on 8chan while the mods were asleep. Then someone downloaded the images, took screenshots and spread them on twitter to point out that GG endorses child porn. While HotWheels have nuked the board where it happened (according to the rules of the site), people are now faced with the problem that these Anti-GGs have spread child porn all over Twitter just to prove a point. Apparantly the authorities are now involved since any form of distribution of child porn is illegal (duh!). What were they thinking?!! https://twitter.com/PlayDangerously/status/547301012415844352

You just can't help yourself, can you? I will let that one slide by since there are other things to discuss. I am talking about not understanding science at best or discarding hard science at worst. I am talking about forming an opinion/ideal and roll with it, and still roll with it when the science says otherwise. For example, look at the whole Sokal Affair: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokal_affair . My point is that the very same ideals stem from these departments in academia that do not care about science to begin with. Pretty much everyone from this generation agrees with the second wave feminists: Equal pay, equal oppurtunity and so on. It's the third wave that i have problem with, who are not much more than another variety of Alex Jones with their deconstruction of gender, patriarchy, rape culture and forced quotas on everything. People who disrupt Janice Fiamengo from speaking at University: Such diversity of opinion. When their feels are threathen it is time for some good 'ole attacking. Nevermind that what studies she had brought with her, nevermind what debate she wishes to have. She make ungood fell, must be unperson. I hope you're not claiming that some art, music and literature have instrinsic value over any other? James Joyce and Herman Melville are no better than a amateur rapper from Detroit? How on earth can that be only objectivist in any way? But what has that to do with feminism since there are atleast 3 different 'waves' of it? No, what i am talking about are SJW that only use feminism when it is used against the very things that they hate the most - white men. What i am talking about is the same SJWs that claim that everything in western culture is a form of oppression, all while turning the blind eye on cultures that have real oppression embedded in their very laws. Often they manage to blame the western world for people oppressing themselves in their warped relativism. Kinda racist really. It is very embroided in academia as far as i can tell. This is a documentary that was created and broadcasted on the norwegian national TV, that shows how disconnected from reality these people are: Lastly, in order to connect all of this to GG: I do not believe that Anita, ZQ or Brianna are SJWs, they are just con-artists that abuse the current system. Their portrayal in media pretty much confirm this. //Edit: Care to elaborate about what your deal is about evolutionary psychology? I am not really familiar with the subject at all.

Cernovich giving some pressure to Patreon to clarify about 8Chan: The discussion quickly shiftes focus on somebody else: RogueStar (most known for pushing the IGF-fraud) And that's about it. I will now iron my christmas sweater and turn on the sauna. Got a big family dinner tomorrow and you have to look representable....by christmas standards.

American Riots, Michael Brown....is it justified ?
Meshugger replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
Illegal to record the police? Where was this abhorred law passed? Spain. At the vanguard of unemployment, social inequality, and retrograde, stupid-ass lawmaking. Yes, this is the EU (if only barely). (for a less inflammatory perspective than Alex Jones') Errr, maybe i am wrong here, but i think that goes against several EU-laws (freedom of expression, freedom of the press, etc, etc). But it has to be tried first, so we will know in 4-5 years after someone makes the effort Atleast Mr. Generalissimo doesn't spin in his grave at the moment. More like he is in a firm deep sleep, totally relaxed in knowing that his country is still building his dream. -
Ok, ok, i get the hint. It seems like the closing of 8Chan's Patreon has caused quite the stir since it was the result of the #Stop8Chan-hashtag. Patreon themselves quickly changed their TOS so that they can close anything based on their own whim, as of writing this. Which means that they can now close "problematic" patreons, which GG now using against by the very people that asked for 8chan's patreon to be shut down in the first place. What happened: https://twitter.com/deku_king/status/547113161770692608/photo/1 What's going on now: https://twitter.com/TinyPixelBlock/status/547115518940176384/photo/1

So, no argument then. Mine was a simple interjection to the current discussion. You don't happen to be a moderator at a forum of your own, do you? I think I'm hardly at fault for thinking you intended to respond to a question I asked when you're directly replying with a quote to the post where I was asking said question. Also, hard to argue with the assertion that "SJWs are all rabid postmodernists" when I've never met any SJW who even mentioned postmodernism, let alone identified as a follower of it. There's literally zero connection between the two groups of people, as far as I'm aware. I made an interjection that you responded with facepalm and no argument. That's all that there is. Also, my claim comes from post-modernism is about: - Critical Theory on Culture, Art and Economics - Knowledge through reason is unobtainable. Therefore even science is discarded - There is no truth, except through personal experience - Moral relativism - Only power can change your position or your surrounds, and it cannot be judged on any objective moral standard, due to reasons mentioned above Sounds familiar doesn't it? SJWs stem from Post-Modern thought, whether they like it or not, just as any Libertanian stem from The Enlightment. In other words, what you feel is more right than what can be achieved through reason, science or rational thought.

Me: "So there were accusations about games journalists wanting to censor and ban Hatred. I've scoured Kotaku and Gamasutra, the two sites I remembered from the 'Gamers Are Dead' scandal to the best of my ability and didn't find such - actually, quite the opposite. Could you guys who obviously pay more attention to this sort of stuff point me to any articles that were asking for censorship?" You: "SJWs are all evil postmodernists whose raison d'ĂȘtre is to force everybody through direct or indirect coercion to accept that art has no intrinsic value beyond one's personal experiences." Me: "That's all fine and dandy, but it had nothing to do with what I asked " I don't see any particularly passive-aggressive about my response. So, no argument then. Mine was a simple interjection to the current discussion. You don't happen to be a moderator at a forum of your own, do you?

I dunno, there have been a number of gunning down people movies. Straw Dogs, Death Wish, Falling Down... Now you can argue that games making the player part of the process makes it different from viewing violence as a spectator, but American culture is facsinated by violence. But I'd also argue that games journalists (as opposed to the weird "I write about games but am not a journalist" crowd) shouldn't be advocating for anything other than better games. Which a good discussion could be had whether Hatred is the right move for the game industry towards that goal, but as far as I can tell that discussion was never had. Interestingly enough, I did some digging, and all the articles I've found at the usual suspects - Kotaku, Gamasutra, y'know, the "SJW sites" - have said "this game is pretty much a desperate attention grab, a cynical attempt at riding controversy in order to avoid the only question that should matter: 'is this game fun?' - but it has every right to be published". Censorship! Bias! They're all book-burning anti-intellectual fascist nazi scum! And that's fine, I was addressing your "the only context where I've even heard (from second-hand accounts, with no direct quotes) of games journalists advocating for stopping a game from being distributed/made is the case of How To Gun Down Unarmed Civilians Begging for Their Lives: The Game" comment, which clearly isn't the reviews you mention above but other reviews (potentially hypothetical, as was my response). Ah, that's fair, I guess. So, I've scoured the "SJW headquarters" and didn't find such articles. Could anyone here point me to any? In case you haven't noticed, it's derogatery term used for anyone fighting for social justice by removing freedom & liberty. It's about the authoritarians vs. libertarians. But if you wish to find the philosophical foundation, you can look into the Post-Modernistic school (only power is real, everything else is personal experience) and if you like to read som literature about it, then anything by Foucault or Derrida is recommended. Basically, a post-modernist thinks that the video below has the same value as Beethoven's 9th symphony because of the personal experience of it. The only way to enforce this view is through coercion: directly or indirectly.
