  1. I find this very odd too. It's like they can't fix the damn washed out color palette. Surely they must realize that the beta testing would go much smoother then. There sure are a lot of red flags about this game development.
  2. It's really a shame that there isn't enough flexibility for a rogue or fighter to be ranged characters.
  3. When I played the game, the experience was awful enough. But with your horrible framerate and crap graphics it really brought it to a whole new level of utter crap. Please don't post such videos again, negative publicity is a real thing.
  4. This needs to be obviated as soon as possible. Have you ever seen a game where characters have to be half-naked to be effective? It looks horribly silly, and it removes a huge aspect of the game - customization.
  5. They've done all of that in KOTOR2(except for vanishing corpses), but that was a 3D game, and they might not rank this project important enough because the annoying nostalgia people are constantly hounding them that the game should look as decrepit as possible, just like those old BG-type games. So, we'll see.
  6. I'm quite dismayed that Dawngate has much better character animations than Wasteland 2; they feel very floaty, like they're not actually walking on the ground but gliding across it.
  7. moderator spam: Wait, since when did Islam become a person with a skin pigmentation? You do realize that Islam is a fascistic, superstition-based ideology and not a race? Political correctness really diminishes mental capacity.
  8. Animations are more important than graphics. I can still play Resident Evil 4 precisely because it has great animations. Great animations never age, and that gives a significant longevity to games, because animations have a clear ceiling. Unlike the graphics.
  9. What does that have to do with putting basic production values into the game? Stop making this silly false dichotomy where something is subtracted from the game if it actually has good animations and visuals. You don't make any sense.
  10. Yes, and now if they want even more money than that backing, far more, they have to go beyond the nonsensical nostalgia bubble and actually put some production values in it.
  11. I'm pretty sure you belong into an exceedingly marginal group of nostalgia-fetish people, so your opinion is really quite irrelevant.
  12. This is the most important bit, across all gaming genres. In fact, animations are much more important than graphics and more significant because there is a clear ceiling for it. Poor animations just destroy any enthusiasm for a game, most people feel it but can't pinpoint it.
  13. I like everything about this. More like KOTOR2 and Fallout series the better. Classes are indeed very inflexible.
  14. I don't appreciate how all females have significantly more symmetrical faces and are younger. Male disposability and ugly misandry manifesting itself again.
  15. This still looks like characters are just about to merge with the environment and vanish from the face of the world.
  16. It just dawned on me that Obsidian did indeed make a game with almost exactly the same combat system where characters perform actions in a pseudo turn-based manner. It's called Knights of the Old Republic 2. And guess what, it was a damn fine game, because characters were not frozen between actions; they actually had varied animations between each action and depending on the equipped weapons, and everything was very smooth and clear. So, the complete opposite of what we have in Pillars of Eternity.
  17. Oh hell no! I despise when developers screw up their games like that! I actually uninstalled Company of Heroes 2 because of it, when you hover over every single unit it freaking changes color, like it's not a solid part of the world! How the hell can developers be that f**cking clueless?!
  18. Bad sign; no mention at all of fixing the rottenness of the core game: everything being out of sync, poor animations, no animations, rigidness of combat, etc., etc. They didn't even deign to post a single response about this on the main thread.
  19. I find males who play as females in games rather obnoxious. It's like they constantly have to sexually titillate themselves in every aspect of life. My skin just crawls when I see that kind of pathetic behavior.
  20. OK, so what is the budget comparison between the two? Although, since now we have far more advanced and user-friendly tools for creating games I'm not sure it could be even compared.
  21. It should be, to avoid the stark contrast of decrepitude it will create when compared to every other game made in the last 10 years. And that comparison is done automatically by our brains accustomed to modern standards.
  22. Regarding the potential scripted death animations, can we at least have different ones for different types of finishers? For example, Soul Ignition would have a burning/dissolving effect(bluish ethereal fire) from within, fire attacks/spells would have a flailing/turning into charcoal effect, two handed weapons would have dismemberment, bows and firearms would have knockback effect, and so on... Do I even have to state how such things would insanely enhance the enjoyment of the game? Are you gonna snarl at me now because I don't have standards in gaming from over 14 years ago?
