As for the classic and persistent beta excuse. I really want to make it clear to people that I've been involved in a lot of betas and never ever has a game rectified critical problems when designated as "beta", at which point I bailed the sinking ship. So, several things could be going on here: 1. Developers made a huge nomenclature mistake by calling it a beta; this clearly is a pre-alpha level of quality 2. This really is beta and developers are so close to its product they don't see how dreadful it is, this is further helped by the delusional nostalgia-fetish people who snarl at everyone not in the bubble 3. Developers have awakened from their stupor and will postpone the game by at least 6 months and make sure that people who are not close to it take a look at it...I don't know...have some kind of QA department!

LOL, the whole ragdoll physics thing was tangential, which is obvious to anyone who is honest and has a basic reading comprehension skill, not to mention that I had already explicitly explained on the very first page why it's not about it per se. This incoherent latching onto something stated in passing is a typical tactic of desperate people with cognitive dissonance.

I just hope Obsidian isn't in the same bubble of delusion, and they realize the impending disaster. In fact, I was wondering, does anyone know how many people are working on it right now? Maybe the development is defunct at this point, because it doesn't receive the support from the whole company. It wouldn't be the first time that happened.

Yes, melee classes tend to be dull and look unattractive in every game, which is why I don't play them. Dungeon Siege 3 being the exception. You should instead take a look at how many classes Titan Quest has and how many synergies are possible. Titan Quest is still one of the best ARPGs available, mechanically and visually. And yes, I realize that Pillars of Eternity was not designed to be an ARPG, that still doesn't render invalid anything I've said about its many shortcomings.

Yes, really. Ever since Titan Quest, they've made games a much more enjoyable experience. Because it's not about ragdoll physics per se, although that is the desired standard, but about combat having a kinetic feel to it, some sort of impact and weight behind actions. For example, Torchlight 2, not having an advanced engine that supported such standard, still managed to impart that impact through critical hits which turn enemies into blood pinatas, which although is a cartoony and arcadey way of doing it, is still far better than the nothingness we have here where enemies just vanish like ghosts.

-the color palette is washed out, making it difficult to discern clumped enemies -the animations are stilted and out of sync with everything, sometimes they skip entirely -the effects of spells(especially for cipher and wizard) are initiated awkwardly, again due to poor animations and no transitional animations -there is no flow to combat, everything feels awkward, have I mentioned animations yet? -because there is no ragdoll physics, corpses or anything you might expect, everything feels flat; defeated enemies just vanish without a peep -the sounds are rudimentary and unimaginative(especially for unique classes like cipher), further removing you from any kind of immersion -the combat system is questionable, to say the least, with robotic characters waiting frozen to make their next attack, if at least you put some higher production values in it...I don't know...like ANIMATIONS! -no voice acting whatsoever, not even introductory token lines with NPCs, like most low-budget games have Obsidian, please cancel this project and apologize to people who backed you up, this is a better alternative than the huge blow on reputation you will receive when you release this game. I really am baffled that the same studio who made amazing Dungeon Siege 3, with great animations, super enjoyable combat, and ragdoll physics, made such a mess of a game.

Is this the first ever game with procedural combat where you can make your own moves?

This is the most advanced thing I ever saw in an RPG game, why is no one talking about it. Watch the whole video at fullHD. Everything just fades in comparison.

but why would, specifically, 'female' characters be compulsory? There is a recent trend to feminize everything in gaming, due to supremacist, sexist and violent dogma of feminism present in fake liberal culture(actually socialist and totalitarian). These vile feminist creatures even made death threats to a recent gathering about reducing anti-male violence(women dish out most violence against children, especially against boys), so the whole venue had to be changed.
