Yes its a horrific ongoing war and Im being generous if I say its gets 5% of the attention and outrage that the Palestinian vs Israeli conflict gets And that includes attention and activism from Africa which is where you would expect to find the real concern But there was attempts to pass UNSC resolutions last year declaring a ceasefire but Russia vetoed it, the only country that blocked the resolution https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/11/25/un-russia-vetoes-sudan-resolution-despite-global-support

The All Things Political Topic - SNAFU edition
Bartimaeus replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
https://people.com/donald-trump-mistakes-dementia-screening-for-iq-test-11837935 Canadian neurologist Dr. Ziad Nasreddine, who created the MoCA test in 1996, told NBC News that the screening should not be used to measure intelligence. "There are no studies showing that this test is correlated to IQ tests," Nasreddine said. "The purpose of it was not to determine persons who have a low IQ level. So we cannot say that this test reflects somebody's IQ.” I always like it when news stories bother to add these "expert opinions" to stories like this, bonus points that it's literally the creator of the MoCA* this time - as if this is a serious story where we really need context to fully understand what all of this means, when actually...yeah, we know the guy is just a dumbass. * -

LJMPRO started following Resets conversation state of all NPCs
-
Unsure what caused this, but all of my conversations in the game got reset. Unsure when the exact moment happened but it really ruins the experience. I realized it happened when I went back to the clinic and the doctor did the whole quest dialogue back over again. Confirmed it happened by going to all the completed quests for NPCs and they all ran through their quest completion dialogue again. Hoping a day one patch fixes this, because this feels game breaking.

Calvin jensen started following Unfortunatly flawed in only one way

Hey i know you guys get allot of messages but please listen to this one i dont know if this is the right place to mention this but i baught the premium eddition and am playing through i hate spoiling things for those who havent played yet ill try my best but in terms of flaws DO NOT accept the "EASILY DISTRACTED" flaw the flaw itself restricts your max skill level to 3 there are certain progression points which require higher skill levels causing a soft lock in progression i have done every sidequest and explored every available area for experience but no luck i am level 13 and need another 11,000 experience to get more levels but even then i cannot level up my required traits because the max is lower than what is required of me to progress through the main storyline this flaw also removes skill boosting from armour and helmets so even if you have armour which could boost you to your required skill number this is still not an option therfore i repeat if you accept the flaw "EASILY DISTRACTED" there is not much you can do other than create a new file to either avoid this flaw or set your hack skills to an amazing amount i fear this is an oversite of some sort. Also beware of the "FLAWED" flaw fore it sets your charecter so that you must accept new incoming flaws which can easily be a trap when trying to specificly avoid one flaw all other flaws seem fine it is juts the "EASILY DISTRACTED" flaw and the "FLAWED" flaw i am about to delete a save file with 2days worth of playtime without entire game completion please let whoever you can know about this. I would say it is truly the only negative experience in the game everything else is amazing.

Do you recall what notable events traspired before getting those effects bugged onto your character? Like, was Eder transformed into something like a Fearsome Brute or Helpless Beast? Also you can check if those effects are active when you check the casting speed of an ability (spell, weapon active abilities, etc.) by right clicking the ability and hovering over the Cast Speed. Those will show you what effects currently modify your attack speed, and Go Not Queitly modifies attack speed.

prepared one o' our faux fancy & low effort meals for family. made an immersion blender caesar salad dressing a couple days before dinner... is sooper ez and quick but you gotta be careful 'cause olive oil becomes bitter when hit with the high-speed immersion blender. recommendation: halve the extra-virgin olive oil amount and go with grapeseed or other neutral oil as a substitute for the remining oil volume... and try to blend thorough but as little as possible. am knowing we identify opposing tensions, but there is a point at which your blended olive oil will become unpleasant bitter. that said, you may blend the ingredients in a mason jar so is fewer dirty dishes to clean. literal takes a few minutes to do prep and combine o' ingredients. yeah, hand whisk is more legit and you don't need worry about the blender+olive oil issue if you do the mixing by hand, but the immersion blender option is so much more simple and quick. a couple days ahead, we dry brine a cross rib roast. remove any excessive fat from the meat and then salt and season and place in the fridge for a day or two. ideal place the roast on a wire rack + baking sheet so you got good air circulation. this step counter-intuitive required the most meal prep effort on our part as making room for the hunk-o'-meat-on-the-sheet in our refrigerator were challenging. the remaining menu were popovers made with green onions and creole seasoning as well as roasted root vegetables... and if you want desert, then buy something from a bakery or soopermarket... we purchased an apple galette from corti brothers. am suspecting nobody needs us to detail roasting root veggies. we added a bit o' fennel bulb and parsnip 'cause they is delicious and 'cause our family thinks they is exotic. *eye roll* am thinking we have mentioned once or twice how we bake only extreme infrequent. popovers is kinda a cheat/exception. despite our baking aversion, we have a dedicated popover pan which is a bit deeper than ordinary muffin tins. we make popovers relative frequent. serious, this meal is so simple it is stoopid. we got one o' those wireless thermal probes which tells us when meat is at temp, so cooking the roast beast requires searing the meat and then sticking it in an oven set at 275F and then waiting. depending on your oven, you might need to rotate the meat every 30 minutes or so to achieve even cooking. regardless, when the meat reaches your desired temp (or rather, when the meat is ~ 5 degrees shy of your desired internal temp,) remove it from the oven and tent it with foil. the meat will continue to cook for about ten or fifteen minutes and the internal temp on a roast o' 3-4ish lbs will increase by those five or so degrees we mentioned. deglaze the baking sheet and then add the drippings to a sauce pan-- is the foundation o' your au jus/sauce which is gonna vary a smidge depending on how you seasoned the meat as well as personal preferences. am genuine feeling guilty when we make this meal for company. cross rib roast is a much underrated cut o' beef and is cheap compared to other options. cross rib is also ideal for pot roast btw. roasting root veggies and making popovers is extreme low effort. immersion blender caesar dressing is no more difficult than the immersion blender mayo and is easier than immersion blender hollandaise. ... gonna admit the cortis brothers apple galette were likely better than whatever Gromnir mighta' crafted, so that worked out great for everybody but it does hurt our pride a smidge. edit: we also made croutons for the caesar salad. these were premade, so we kinda forgot to mention. more low energy as we prepared 'em in a basket air fryer. not long ago we ordinary made croutons in a skillet, and we still do when am wanting the best croutons we can craft. the air fryer variety is simple and far less messy than skillet croutons, so now we typical go the air fryer route. HA! Good Fun!

I signed up for a full Ironman with my wife. I did one in 2019 in Santa Rosa and it was pretty miserable. It took me 15 hours. I had a good swim, an ok bike, but terrible run. My stomach was a mess and I walked most of it. Anyways, my wife watched me suffer and has been bugging me for the last 6 years to do one with her. So we signed up for Ironman California, which is in Sacramento. It is still a year away. We volunteered at the race this year and paddle boarded for the swimmers in support. The swim looks amazing, it is downstream and should be fast. It also looks like a fun run snaking around the Capitol Mall. But now that I've paid for it, I'm in training mode, and that is a different lifestyle. I'm not out of shape, but I'll be pretty much doubling my training hours over the next year. It should be fun. I hope I can nail the nutrition this time.

Protectorate Will Not Aggro
7thdrxn replied to 7thdrxn's topic in The Outer Worlds 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
It fixed when I closed the game and restarted, thank gosh. -
I just tested that I can go from Port Maje straight to Neketaka and met Thaenic on the way, buy slippers. Just did some stuff in Queen's Berth and Periki - including Arkemyr's Manor. Still 21 days for Neketaka/Hasongo. I can use barrels to trigger invisibility and then prolongue it with Cabalist's Gambeson I already have with proper enchantment. Now I can easily do any quest in Neketaka, robe and steal anything, explore entire old city and hanging sepulchers without stealth mode. I will do the quest with Rymrgand as the last. Then I should buy voyager and some helpful stuff for sailing speed, go to Hasongo and later catch Thaenic one more time to buy Magran's Chosen Belt, jester cap, another pair of boots for dex immunity. I don't remember how much money can be gathered in Neketaka alone, but should be enough for the ship and some of its upgrades.

So it really sounds like recruiting Inez requires the "Diabolical Drones of Doom" mission, and you need to accomplish some key things: o You've got to talk to Trooper Faulker to trigger the quest (I'm betting you really need to do this first) o You need to complete the quest o You might need to destroy all drones in the area, not just the ones in the "Drone Corral" o And if you have the ability to deactivate the drones (your skills are high enough that you get that option), you need to deactivate the drones (even if you've destroyed them all). That last point was what I needed in order to get Inez to show up in the Town Hall, which then fired off the argument and gave me the ability to recruit her.

Yeah I have figured it out after creating another test character with fully explored world map from Berath's blessing. Now I can easily pinpoint Deck of Many Things 27/5. Now I consider another route. I can start Maje > Sandswept Ruins > Deadlight > Dunnage or just sail straight to Neketaka from Port Maje and met Thaenic right before the port of the city. Then I could buy slippers and do Arkemyr's Mansion for Cabalist's Gamebson and abuse the trick to literally loot & steal everything in the city, do all quests without loosing presious time in stealth mode in old city and hanging sepluchers. Then go to Hasongo and have more time to do what must be done for Scordeo's Edge and Current's Rush before even confronting lava dragon. I guess it's all will be try and error. I want to test something new. I could just copy one of most popular runs with skaen/bm.

I too am having issue with Inez. At first, she didn't appear in the town hall (where Milverstreet is). I followed the advice I found online to backtrack from the MoA to Fairfield, but didn't find any drones to kill. However, I went into the large barn building, talked the to female scientist, then as I was heading out, Inez popped into existence in front of me. I followed her to Milverstreet, they had a conversation, but then nothing is happening, she only repeats one line of dialogue, I can't have a proper conversation with her.

Felt weird when I found the stowaways that were stealing greenhouse stuff in Fairport, the sheriff came down, the dialogue turned "okay we gonna kill you" - then they didn't. Even when I attacked one of the guards or the main girl the others would not attack. I didn't think anything of it, then later in the game doing the main relay quest and went to sneak up to kill a protectorate soldier... no sneak attack. Only pickpocket. I was able to kill the boss there but this takes all the challenge out of the game and will probably bug something later. When I "trespass" within their territory they just look at me. I can't sneak attack anyone, if I hit them they'll finally defend themselves but their allies just watch. Really hoping for a patch.
-
I might found out how to solve the problem, if you finished the mission Diabolical Drones of Doom, you have to talk to Trooper Faulkner, the one on the Northwest exit of Fairfield, who actually is the mission's starter. Then go to Ethel Tinsley, who has a giant pet in the Northwest of the town. After your dialogue with her, Inez will spawn right after. Then she'll walk into the Town Hall.
