I have reached level 30 and don't appear to be gaining any more xp to continue getting skill points. I have unspent skill points, but they're not enough to do anything, not enough to add to a category to get me high enough to do anything. With the inability to respec or the lack of anything similar to Fallout's mentats or clothing with skill+ to them, or skill bonuses to the companions, I'm locked out of a lot of activities. There are chests I can't open, rooms I can't get into, those satellite whatevers at the chapels on Cloister can't be turned on. I'm missing out on experiencing a lot of this game due to lack of points. We only get 62 to spread across 12 categories and we don't even know which ones are beneficial until we encounter the situation. And some options require 11 or 15 or 17, one even had speech 20. ? How are we supposed to even experience those things without enough points? Can you please add something that allows us to bump up a skill category even temporarily so we don't miss out on all of this stuff?

Weird clicking Sound Bug
Sullivision86 replied to Jackoac's topic in The Outer Worlds 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
The same exact thing keeps happening to me with the terminals or sometimes when I make a choice in a dialog tree that ends the conversation. It’s like 4-5 mechanical clicking sounds at a quick tempo. I thought it was quest-related — like a sound indicating that the action I just took locked me out of a quest line. Pure speculation on my part. If anyone can explain this I’d really appreciate it. -
First: I am aware this is a semi-duplicated thread. There are already a number of notations on specific broken quest chains, including the one that sent me over the edge. Second: My intention is to offer some background on game design and development. Many of the errors within Outer Worlds 2 are not knew, and are replications of design problems in games old enough to legally purchase alcohol. Third: That means many of the solutions to fix the issues with broken quest chains and broken skill/perk/trait/background checks are already known. The simplest fix is to simply finish the companion system. That means adding Skill Buffs, Traits, Backgrounds, and Perks to companions. Then following through and exposing the companion Skill/Trait/Background/Perk through to the player. The 37 minute long video digging into the breaking quest chains, as well as the background in development, and some of the proposed solutions is posted here: https://rumble.com/v71iuow-outer-worlds-2-dont-do-that..html Also, yes, for anyone in Obsidian who has access to the Social Media accounts, yes, this is the same video in a post directly tagging Microsoft affiliated accounts over on X.

A Way Back to the Light is the one under the Archive where the Order Provost Coulter wants the lifts reactivated. I have them reactivated and I've been back to tell him twice now, even used the lift to go up and sign off on An Equitable Arrangement with Bishop Ruth, and yet it stays on my Task list. Every time I talk to him it seems to revert to earlier converstations - "Congratulations on your determinative victory" because his soldiers helped take the start of Cold Storage. I can't get him to move past that whenever I initiate conversation with him. Can't Complete A Way Back to the Light

At first I thought this just needed to be done a specific way, but after more research and seeing what others have been saying about it, I agree it probably is just bugged. I told everyone to leave permanently(wound up killing Aza because she attacked me afterwards) and I didn't get it. I thought maybe you need to piss them off enough to get them to leave you rather than the other way around, but your testimonial as well as others appears to prove that also doesn't work. Well, here's hoping there's a solution soon.

I find first person better for combat. The most important mod for me (besides no random dragons) is the alternate start one. It still allows you to get a rumour about Helfen and be the first to get there after it's destruction, and link into the main quest, but the different starts really help make your character yours.

Has anyone had issues with these trophies specifically? All For None: Had every living companion die or abandon you for good Go Out With A Bang: Killed 3 enemies with a single shot of the Big Bang Ad Hominem Homicide: Killed 10 Enemies that are taunted with the Popup Gun's Ad Drones I've done them all on different playthroughs, I finally unlocked SA Quarterlies Quantified (Paradise Island books) on my 4th playthrough after it bugged on the last 3

I finally started on my first Skyrim\LoreRim playthrough on Sunday It took me so long to start because I was doing comprehensive research on what additional mods to add and more importantly how you add more mods without breaking the massive and complex LoreRim modlist I settled on about 7-8 new NPC mods and some adult mods but end of the day LoreRim already has 4000 + mods so you really dont need to add much. Most of the mods I wanted to add were already included I also spent time watching several LoreRim config and starting tips YT videos. It uses Requiem and I wanted to prepare myself for what is different. You cant just jump into LoreRim without understanding the differences and I also have never played Skyrim But adding new mods requires a process where you need to run Requiem Reqtificator and Synthesis patching every time to try to ensure stability And I had some issues with Synthesis where it wouldnt run any patches but after advice from Synthesis discord I was able to resolve it by deleting the Synthesis Temp folder The most " difficult " part of LoreRim was initially understanding all the new menus around commands and hotkeys, that took me 3-4 hours because of how mods change things. For example I use the Arrow keys for movement and I noticed immediately that Down arrow was drinking my Magicka Potions. I couldnt see why and none of my Internet searches helped, they had lots of links about other LoreRim issues and how to configure .ini files for hotkeys but not this specific anomaly. Then I asked the question on the LoreRim Discord server and 2 people responded, its linked to a specific mod called Swift Potions and you need to use F7 to change this behaviour and reset this specific hotkey The LoreRim Discord has the most information but its very busy and you not guaranteed to get any answer or even the right answer like all Discord sites. But now I know which channels to ask specific questions. That is definitely the right place to get answers to everything around LoreRim and the creator of LoreRim and other serious mod creators are active. Biggie built LoreRim and he is really one of the most interesting and friendly people in the modding community So I finally started LoreRim and I selected the Alternative Start in an Inn called the Sleeping Giant in Riverwood. Im a Breton and I have decided to become a battlemage. Each race in Lorerim has really different stats and advantages. You have to take time to think about how you want to build your character and I love that about the game. The RP is massive I am not going to initiate the main quest until much later, maybe level 30. Because Dragons are very hard as they should be and I want to explore the world and understand all the mechanics before its impacted by the Dragons And its an amazing starting journey, I have this massive open map with no markers and I can do anything I want. Its the best example of open-world and sandbox I have ever experienced. At the moment Im just doing Riverwood easy quests and Im going to focus on level advancement and becoming effective in combat, I prefer first person view for combat but ostensibly third person is better for combat? Requiem also has meaningful survival mechanics so you have to constantly be aware of food, sleep and weather conditions And I killed my first mudcrabs and wolves, Im HARDCORE !!!

morg started following “Fiends in High Places” Quest Bug and FIENDS IN HIGH PLACES QUEST **BUG**
-
Hello! I've recently put 20 hours into my playthrough, and I found a game breaking bug at the end of "Fiends in High Places". Even after completing the puzzle and getting the bridge to extend across, the door that should open remains sealed, locking me out of the rest of the station/finishing the quest line. Notes: - "body found" enemy notification keeps popping up, despite no enemies being visible (yes, I even put the N-Ray mask on to see if I was being insane, lol) - fight music plays despite enemies not being in the area. - both fuses are in their respective spots and cannot be removed after placement - both sides of the bridge are lit up, indicating that the puzzle has been completed. - door remains sealed despite all prerequisites for it to be open being met. - no way around the door, from what i can see/find. Anyways, super hoping they're working on a fix for this because it's incredibly frustrating... my last save to load before this is one from when I only had 4 hours in game, so I'd basically just be starting all the way over....... and I don't want to do that. Thanks for any help.

No i loved KCD right from the start... I also got it when it was super buggy and new. Even then I loved it. I think its just a phase. It'll take something to click for me to get out of it. KcD2 is very good though. It's better in pretty much every way. Other than, I would say the story pacing is a little weird for me. Also it is missing the whole "from a peasant to hero" aspect... you are fairly competent to start.
