Ricky Gervais telling celebs to make political speeches is a celeb making a political speech. Also I can't remember the last time I've seen Gervais do something, I guess being anti-anti-ICE is him fishing for a spot in the Roganverse. Anyways, I think ICE Out pins is the bare minimum. I'm not expecting for Bad Bunny to personally stand in the way of Trump's secret police kidnapping children to deport to Epstein Island 2.0 God knows where, but kicking cash to help the people that are is good and if these guys already are (I believe Eilish is) then good on them. I still think the everyday resistance of normal folks in places where ICE is invading is more notable.

Damn The Dems won a race for state senate in Texas in a R+20 area that's possibly the hotbed of Christian Nationalism in the US, where the Republican outspent them to an absurd degree, and where Trump himself tried to stir up magats to the polls. Only a special election and we're 9 months out from the midterms, but I would never have bet on this happening.

Honestly, I think the Trump people being fine with their idol being a pdfile is the least surprising part of all of this. I hope there is some consequence for all of the Epstein people but frankly I think all of them, especially Trump, will see no real consequences from being accomplices to and participants in Epstein's pedophile ring.

I don't think so, not in the sense that Trump will not sacrifice Noem, but in the sense that he'd back down. This is what Magats want, to see "blue" cities and states conquered by Trump's paramilitary (****, you can scratch off the para) and occupied to bring them in line. The killings of "antifa supersoldier domestic terrorists" is an intrinsic part of this, not an unfortunate accident, and if you look at what the magats are saying to each other they do view this as part of "taking the country back". Trump and the Republicans are almost certain to get bulldozed in the midterms, but you have to keep in mind that Trump is a dementia-addled omegaboomer who consumes almost exclusively Fox News and Truth Social posts so he probably thinks this is the most popular thing in the history of our country. To boot, whoever is in the room at any given time is effectively the president and that seems to mostly be Stephen Miller.

While going after Bill now is certainly not motivated by a desire to see justice done, I personally don't care if he does get caught up over that because he sure as well was/is very good friends with a lot of the other Epstein guys and probably did do that ****. While he's there he can tell them about another guy him and Jeff hung out with in the aughts.

The TV and Streaming Thread: Enough episodes for syndication
Honestly, the vast majority of series would probably be improved by swapping out the ending for playing Come Sweet Death while humanity is merged into a collective being. Unironically, Omedetou out of nowhere is better than 90% of what actually happens. But at the very least in this case, it would show exactly what Vecna was trying to do. The Mindflayer is already capable of manifesting irl, or at least was until they retconned it into a D-tier Godzilla enemy, so his plan had to have been more than just bridging the gap between worlds to invade it from Mexico The Abyss. I'm struggling to articulate this well, but my thoughts on the final season is that it is at the same time too long and too short (ie bloated runtime without doing anything real) as well as that it feels like it was made to end an alternative series where evil Sarah Connor was a threat from the start or the supernatural hell dimension was always just a bridge. Like my memory is not the best but the Abyss just came out of nowhere and just contradicts the feel of every existing monster.

For me I think abolishing ICE is the bare minimum at this point, and we've still got 3 years of more in store for us. Democrats really need to hammer home how horrible it is instead of capitulation to Trump on immigration. I think there is more than enough corruption to purge the US government of all Trump appointees, everything from the Supreme Court to a dog catcher. Not sure how feasible it is or if the political will is there, but the precedent has been set. Frankly, I think if Democrats win the presidency in 2028 it will just be Biden again where they just try to forget about it in the name of normalcy.

I guess we've reached the stage of occupation forces murdering people in broad daylight in Trump 2.0. Someone from Minnesota, like @Bartimaeus I believe, may correct me on it, but this is apparently a 15 walk from where George Floyd was suffocated. Really ****ed up, ICE needs to be abolished and Nuremberg 2 should happen for ICE specifically but probably the whole US government. It was.

The End of Stranger Things The final season is more forgettable than anything else. I don't want to rehash too much of what's already been said about it, but honestly I remember maybe 15 minutes worth of stuff out of a 2 hour movie.

Man, Trump is really trying everything to bury the Epstein stuff. So the policy of the Trump regime is that the US can't hold the US president accountable for crimes, but they can kidnap presidents of other countries and put them on trial in the US? Seems pretty insane, but the whole operating procedure of the Trump regime is to act like a cartoonishly evil government from the movies so I guess this tracks. Would be kinda funny if arresting Maduro and putting him on a show trial for the trumped up nonsense of being a fentanyl kingpin fails spectacularly.

Cronos (1992) - Remastered I think you can sort of file this in the same category as the Midnight Mass miniseries as a world where vampire fiction doesn't exist. Also it takes place during Christmas and New Year's, so I guess it's a holiday thing just like Midnight Mass. Anyways, I enjoyed it quite a lot. The scenes of the Chronos device remind me quite a lot of Lynch's Eraserhead sequences, and you can hear Lynch's influence throughout the film. It's very much a Del Torro film throughout, and you can see clearly how this is the guy who would go on to make Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy.
