Question

Posted (edited)

This save was created post patch 1.03.0530

Lvl 3 barbarian player character 799 health.

48+16+16=80+21%(con buff) = 96.8 Endurance (or 97, as shown in portrait, this is accurate)

96.8*6 (barb health multiplier) = 580.8 Health

580.8 vs 799...what happened? Is my math wrong or is there a 37.5% increase in health from nothing? There's no health buffs active.

I think we're waiting for Obsidian at this point. It's lame they missed this when they fixed the other stat bugs.

Checked, and almost all of my characters are suffering from this. This is really frustrating - I thought I was managing my health well by finishing dungeons on a single set of camping supplies (Hard), but apparently my characters just have way too much health. This should be a huge priority.

To be honest, I'm not convinced most difficulty feedback thus far can be taken to mean anything. Ever since the game came out there has been some huge bug inflating player characters' stats far beyond what they should be.

C'mon, Obsidian. Don't make us wait for 1.05 to fix this.

How much does the max HP pool increase through this bug over the course of the game? 10%? 20%? 50%? More?

I was looking to start playing when the 1.04 version lands, and I wouldn't mind the bug (that much if the health increase wasn't enormous.

my guess would be the amount of stacking depends on the number of times the glitch that causes the stackign has been cycled.

in the release version, you literally could get unlimited stats/health/deflection/damage reduction scores by simply saving and reloading whenever you noticed the glitch.

I'm still playing the release version, since 1.03 is even more buggy, and I don't expect a stable patch that includes some sort of finalized gameplay balances to be released for at least another month.

in that version, even leaving items that boost stats on your character while they are stored at the keep will cause stats to cycle up.

the micromanagment needed to backtrack to avoid noticed bugs is becoming quite a chore.  some of the bugs are not repairable via the console, even entirely respeccing does not help.

I've taken to simply dumping "contaminated" companions and creating new ones at Inns instead at this point, which of course means I miss out on most of their story dialogue.

OTOH, it's incentive to do a replay once they finally get around to fixing it.

Yea a similar stacking bug occurs with Reckless Assault.

That makes sense, i do notice it usually when i return from fighting those guls at the beach...In my last game pre-1.03 Eder had the super buffed health, i guess it was from the Guls as well.

Is there any known work-around to reset player character health back to normal through the console perhaps?

I want to carry on playing but I don't want this issue to keep compounding itself and ruin my experience. I tried using console commands to see if setting constitution to 10 and then back to 17 (how it was originally) would maybe reset it, but that didn't help.

Bump. My Barbarian is up to 1076 health with 149 base endurance. This is silly. Needs to be in 1.05, if not in 1.04.

4. Looting deselects party bug.

Select all party with backspace, loot a container, then the character looting remains selected and the rest of the party are deselected.

Expected behavior:

Whole party remains selected while looting.

The permanent health increase bug has been fixed and will retroactively fix up any affected characters. This was linked to the "Vomit Blood" ability on Guls. This will be in the official 1.04 patch (it is not currently in the beta patch version at the time of this post).

Awesome to see the fix going into 1.04!

I seem to remember this bug occurring on more than just Guls, however - do the "Dank Spores" have any similar abilities? In particular, I believe I noticed this bug get worse on one of my characters (as in, health was already bugged and got even more bugged) after fighting the Dank Spore encounter in the bottom right of the Defiance Bay catacombs.

I may be remembering incorrectly, and I'll keep you apprised if I see it happen again after the patch.
