constantine Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 It's me, Imoen ! :D 4 Matilda is a Natlan woman born and raised in Old Vailia. She managed to earn status as a mercenary for being a professional who gets the job done, more so when the job involves putting her excellent fighting abilities to good use.
Gfted1 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Dat belt... 1 "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Starwars Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I want to not care about you... But I find myself forced to by some unseen power! Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
IndiraLightfoot Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yer all buffleheaded! 2 *** "The words of someone who feels ever more the ent among saplings when playing CRPGs" ***
kangaxxter Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 What did her belt even do in the second game?
Gfted1 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Made her unkillable until you left Irenicus' dungeon. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Luckmann Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Yeah, it ensures that the precious forced plot point wasn't ruined by the player's badwrongfun.
Gorbag Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Pfew! I thought it was a Noober thread. Got me worried there for a sec. 1 Nothing gold can stay.
constantine Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 God I hope they don't add a 'Noober' NPC as an easter egg ! 1 Matilda is a Natlan woman born and raised in Old Vailia. Stun Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 What did her belt even do in the second game? What does any chastity belt do? It prevented the promancers from "role playing" a 'relationship' with their Bhaal sister.
constantine Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 I remember in my very first BG2 playthrough how I couldn't stand how frail and pathetic Imoen sounded. I just couldn't feel for her. Silent Winter Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 ^somewhere out there is a gelatinous cube bhaalspawn, just biding its time... I know nothing more, so leave me to go. 2 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *Casts Nature's Terror* , *Casts Firebug* , *Casts Rot-Skulls* , *Casts Garden of Life* *Spirit-shifts to cat form*
Leferd Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I remember seeing this image from a PC Gamer or CGW. I prefer this version of Imoen. Not sure if this was done by Sweet, Manley, or Kovacs. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Luckmann Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Bhaal didn't stop at rabbits, either. This explains so much of arthurian legend to me. 1
Lord Wafflebum Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 The more powerful you get, the weirder you get with life. When there are no longer barriers, why stop?
Gorbag Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 When there are no longer barriers, why stop? Is that what she said? P.S. Man, I hope this thread does not get locked, it's so perfectly immature. Nothing gold can stay.
constantine Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks for the missle wand and goodbye. No ! She is pretty decent in BG1, you can build her the way you want, her being Lv1 Matilda is a Natlan woman born and raised in Old Vailia. She managed to earn status as a mercenary for being a professional who gets the job done, more so when the job involves putting her excellent fighting abilities to good use.
Gorbag Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) Imoen was among the most useful NPCs in BG1. She had great stats, initial thief skill distribution was good, you get her at the start so you can benefit from her ranged attacks in the early encounters and develop her however you like, and she can actually pass charisma checks for you in case you decide to dump it for your PC. Unless you are tired of her or don't like her character (or aim for a specific playthrough), there's no reason not to have her around. Edited January 23, 2015 by Gorbag Nothing gold can stay.
Stun Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 And she was one of a small handful of avaliable NPCs that had the stats to dual-class
Luckmann Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 And in BG2, she was turned into a useless, whiny, annoying, forced plot device.
constantine Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Well no. She is a very decent Mage/Thief of 'Good' Alignment, Mage being her most important aspect (also not specialist Mage, so she may learn spells from any school). Of course, she, or any other mage, is much weaker than Edwin, but personally I very often found myself not recruiting Edwin b/c of his attitude. But yeah, she was quite pathetic, Irenicus broke her big time. Matilda is a Natlan woman born and raised in Old Vailia. She managed to earn status as a mercenary for being a professional who gets the job done, more so when the job involves putting her excellent fighting abilities to good use.
