Chilloutman
Where I live there is really very small amount of Islamic people, but even there was leak from one mosque where preacher preached to beat childrens who dont follow koran and to kill any infidel. If there ever is some 'restrained' muslim he should have step up and tell him to gtfo, but guess what? Never ever I heard abou single muslim saying that those teachings are bollocks. Can you imagine priest in church preaching to kill any human being? What do you think would happen if single one do that. I believe whole church would just leave and tell him to GTFO. That is the difference and that is hard for me to believe that there exist any 'restrained' muslims 1 I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
Rostere
Well if we acted sooner about nazi extremism there would not be world war dont you think? The dolchstosslegende which put the Nazis in power was grounded on a military overreaction of the entente powers. I believe that is the best lesson from in inter-war era. Of course you could also have handled the Nazis differently but I prefer to use peaceful, preventive means. Also secularization of christians didnt come from anyone esle then christians themselfs, do you really believe that any other ethnicity forced secularization on christians? No. But it was a slow and arduous process as well. Secondly our secularism - specifically the freedom of religion in the Netherlands which was the forerunner at it's time - was inspired by the Ottoman Empire at the time (late 1500s IIRC). Yes process was slow, but why it was slow? I believe its because we didnt have anything else then religion but today we are flying into space. All those scientific discoveries made through history brought us closer to secularisation because they start questioning christian teaching (if you were is space you kind of know that there is no bearded man on cloud here). Same should apply for muslims but for some reason it didnt Yes - why didn't it? It's a good question. They have actually in many cases reverted from secularism to conservatism. All we know is that religions can change, and that they will change beyond recognition when their followers do so. Just look at today's Christians - not at all similar to Christians of 100 years ago. And Nazis get into power exactly because other powers didnt want war so they give them more and more space until its was no longer in their control and you are suggesting completly same thing No. I'm saying that they could have acted preventively so that Hitler would never gain popularity. In any case, I believe that in peace, you should do your worst in diplomacy, and in war, you should do your worst in war. The entente failed to make inter-war Germany a growing ground for democracy and preferred senseless punishment. And then when they declared war, they did not attack in earnest. This breaks both my principles. "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
Orogun01
Hindsight is 20/20 but on the other hand I wonder how many countries sympathized with Germany after they had been economically wrecked by the Versailles treaty? The rise of nationalism and austere measures wouldn't have been indication of anything other than a reaction to the tough situation they had been placed in. It wasn't until Poland that things began to come into collision. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.

Malcador
http://www.thejournal.ie/dieudonne-arrest-1880765-Jan2015/?utm_source=shortlink CONTROVERSIAL FRENCH COMEDIAN Dieudonné has been arrested over comments he made seeming to express solidarity with one of last week’s killer gunmen. On Monday, Diudonné wrote on his Facebook page, “Tonight, as far as I’m concerned, I feel like Charlie Coulibaly”. It is was a reference to Amedy Coulbaly who is believed to have shot a Paris policewoman the day after the Charlie Hebdo attacks and was killed by police after shooting dead four people at a Jewish supermarket the following day. Dieudonne made his controversial Facebook post after attending Sunday’s unity march against extremism. He described the march, considered the biggest rally in modern French history, as “a magical moment comparable to the big-bang”. A judicial source told AFP that Dieudonné was arrested this morning for being an “apologist for terrorism”. Dieudonné’s notorious brand of comedy and provocation made world headlines in 2013 when French footballer Nicolas Anelka was banned for made a “quenelle” gesture. The gesture which is used widely, including by Dieudonné, resembles a Fascist salute with the proponent’s arm facing downwards. Critics say it is anti-Semitic but Dieudonné and others argue it is used as an anti-establishment gesture. Dieudonné’s arrest this morning was chronicled on his own Facebook page and included pictures of officers questioning him. The post said that police arrived at his home at 7am and reiterated there were talking to him on the grounds that he had made an ‘apology for terrorism’. Surprised they arrested him after questioning him, I'd have thought that alone would be the intimidating, but minor corrective move. Why has elegance found so little following? Valsuelm
This isn't the first 'terrorist' event where the named official suspects reportedly came to be known to the authorities though a found ID under extremely unlikely circumstances. Very convenient for those authorities, and/or just super lucky. Twice now! Passports these days. When concrete is pulverized, these papers come out unscathed. Amazing quality. There's no blood or recoil when the police office is shot either; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P853PYcw90Q I'm no forensics expert, but I'd like to believe there would be some blood when a man gets his head blown off at point blank range. Anyway, I suppose we should stop asking questions. It's so passe. .. I'm glad at least one person on this forum understood the reference. If only a majority did; the world might be on it's way to being a better place. Edited January 14, 2015 by Valsuelm

There's actually a lot of truth in that article. The major glaring flaw with it (it's not the only flaw) is the same major glaring mistake so many in this thread are making, and that's a whole people are being blamed for the actions of a relative few. The 'Jews or Judaism' were no more responsible for the acts of a relatively few number of Jewish people than the Muslims or Islam are responsible for the actions of a relatively few Muslims. Yet there's no shortage of people crying out against Islam. There's really no difference between them and the people who blame 'The Jews' for all that a few evil Jewish people did or are doing. Volourn
Ity's funny that people will go all out for their right to make fun of Catholic priests being pedophiles because a minority of them are but you can't write anything negative about Islam at all even if it's the truth without threat of death and people claiming it's deserved. EVIL. Also, caholics and non catholics tend not make excuses for the priests who do that sort of crap but muslims and non muslims have plenty of excuses for those who commit mass murder or rape under that religion's banner.
