Bartimaeus Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I kinda gave up trying to give people stuff on this forum I mean, when the games that aren't immediately taken are just the ones that nobody around here has ever heard of, how can you blame us? The ones people have heard of (...and have heard of them for not being terrible) usually get taken in like less than 24 hours...I don't want to take a game I don't think I'm ever gonna at least try, so I don't. I'm sure others feel the same. 3 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

I'm sure others feel the same. Dunno, I would have thought the Star Wars games, the Sega pack and Tropico 5 at least would attract someone and fit the bill for being heard of, at very least. Some might even say they're good games. I suspect the problem there is that everyone who wants them already has them, or won't take them due to thinking gabe is the devil and steam his little hell on earth, or runs out of impetus before reaching the bottom of the list. If you want a suggestion for lesser known but good games I'd suggest Quadriga (roman charioteering simulator, here's a very good write up by Tim Stone, the one genuinely great bit of RPS who liked it so much he reviewed it twice) or Ultimate General Gettysburg for a sort of Total War approach to, well, Gettysburg. It's a little rough around the edges still but it's certainly worth free no money down. Edited July 31, 2016 by Zoraptor 2

You're outnumbered, outgunned and the Union has a far better position. Edited August 2, 2016 by kgambit

shushNMD Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Hi, I haven't been on these forums since PoE was released and even back then never left a comment, but now... What happened here? Forum looks emptier than a FO1. Only 2 topics in General discussion and even they are dead and dated? Did everyone just left?

Bartimaeus Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Given that they mentioned specifically "General Discussion", a name of one of the sections for the PoE subforums, I think they were talking just about those PoE subforums. Gorth Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 How do people end up with so many spare codes?... Sadly I either don't know the titles or have them already (guilty of having a long list of games from Steam and Gog that collects dust) “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein

ShadySands Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 (edited) Oh hi. Sorry, I didn't see you there Since you're here already I just so happen to have an extra copy of Civ VI that I'd be willing to give you. Not for free mind you but in exchange for something else. I hope I'm not asking for too much but maybe I am, I dunno. Anyway, I'll give you this game if you agree to write up an in depth review of your first few days playing it. Just circle yes or no... or PM me Edited October 22, 2016 by ShadySands 4 Free games updated 3/4/21

Oerwinde Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Tempting, but my reviews tend to be very brief. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
melkathi Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Yeah, I was tempted as well, but I tend not to be underwhelmed by Firaxis games. Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).
