I've reread the article in question, and have failed to see any mention of him being blamed for tha harrassment of others. It mentions the fact that he was allowed to give an interview in said clothing as indicative of a larger problem in the industry, not him having any sort of malicious intent with it.

 

So, erm, yeah.

 

 

Why wouldn't he be?

On-the-spot reporting usually involves talking to people in the middle of their workplace or in the middle of work. As such, those people wear what they normally do.

Although the affair appears to have been very real, the site in question (and the journalist with whom the affair was conducted) never ran a review of the game, which is available online for free.

It's amazing how many facts can one get wrong in a single paragraph: It didn't start at 4chan. Eron didn't spread Zoe's nudes(they can be found at soft porn site where she has put them herself). It wasn't reviews, it was positive coverage.

I really hope these reports of physical attacks and swatting are untrue.  If they are, however, they are sadly unsurprising.  I'm guessing those on the radical far left were caught off guard by this level of resistance and they were ill prepared for a lengthy drawn out conflict.  As this continues on into month 3 and beyond and it's become crystal clear that the regular tactics these people employ are simply ineffective and doing nothing to make GamerGaters back down, it's definitely not unexpected that they would start to resort to more and more extreme tactics.  People resorting to more extreme tactics is scary, because extremists may well be capable of horrible atrocities, but it also tends to suggest that they are close to crumbling, as it's a clear indicator of desperation.  Again, though, I'd much rather these claims of physical attacks and swatting were bogus.

I saw a poll where only 23% of women consider themsleves feminists (20% of the population overall) while the majority of people do consider themselves to be for equality. If any of it is true it's very sad... but also kind of funny that it is not the demonized "dudebro sexist gamers" but the "noble and righteous" other side that has crossed that line.

What's annoying is there's multiple claims of various things going on, but we won't know for weeks or months if they're bold-faced lies or true, simply because they involve the police, FBI or the court system.

 

Gonna be honest though, I think divas aren't exclusive to one group. I question the validity of claims from both sides.

I'm waiting for verification myself, but it does seem(from my biased POV) that one side seems to be crying wolf much more than the other.

Great news.  I'm ready to extend the olive branch to some sites, provided they show ethical reforms, I already have in some cases, but not Gawker.  Gawker is a lost cause and need to be burnt to the ground (figuratively speaking, of course), as far as I'm concerned.
