Blarghagh
I'll check that one out, Raithe. Sounds cool. In the meanwhile, I'm currently feeling very apprehensive because a little known slow-burn type horror movie called The Innkeepers is very good at setting tone and atmosphere, even if it has thus far (half an hour left) not yet delivered on scares. EDIT: Nevermind, there they come. Not very pleasant in any way, even though it has nothing incredibly scary it still totally got under my skin. Blarghagh
Damn, Captain Marvel? Didn't see that one coming. Carol Danvers, so we're getting a female centered and a black superhero movie with Black Panther now going on.. I guess all the Inhumans rumors were right on the money too. Rosbjerg
Dawn of The Planet of The Apes. Really liked the characters and the acting, but felt the overall plot was a little lacking and drawn out. Also the main villain started out great, but got a little too evil at the end - his motivation was sufficient in and on itself and he could have made a good anti-hero in response to just and mighty Caesar, who sees, hears and says no evil. Also the main battle - in what world does a frontal charge with a 'civilian army' only trained in hunting - against the most effective killing organism on the planet (that knows how to handle weapons too) end well? Since the battle got so much attention anyway, it would have been easy enough to write one that played to the apes strengths instead. They should've been absolutely slaughtered charging those gates in that fashion. Fortune favors the bald.

ManifestedISO
Marvel reveals new slate: ‘Captain America 3,’ ‘Thor 3,’ ‘Avengers’ titles announced. No Black Widow solo movie ... first they cancel She-Hulk in the comics, now Natasha is out in the cold, of Siberia, probably. No, actually she looks to have a big role in Age of Ultron. And it appears Scarlet Witch is gonna mess with some Avengers' hearts and minds, plus a big battle in South Africa, Bruce, looks like they're coming your way. Apparently Feige was asked about the widow solo flick anfd he said something about her working really well as part of the Avengers so its not a huge priority, same with Hulk. But not to rule it out. I'm happy with the slate. With the Captain Marvel movie being further down the line it gives the opportunity to introduce Carol Danvers first. 1 The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity. Oerwinde
I have young kids, so I don't get a lot of new movies watched anymore. I have seen the 3 live action Ninja Turtles movies and the awesome CGI one about 4 times each this week though. As a related note, the bankruptcy and dissolution of Imagi makes me sad. Rosbjerg
The Zero Theorem Some thematic spoilers ahead: In many ways a companion to Brazil I think. It's interesting that Gilliam still works with the themes of Modernism and his nods to Kafka and Orwell is still very prevalent. But rather than flirt with absurdity of order/control he now flirts with nihilism/solipsism - "we" are inherently persecuted by our own dissociation rather than some outside power, that power however preys on the fear and chaos of individuality. Ultimately however the movie doesn't know how to end and tries to go for a "strange" happy ending instead of one that at least tries to enlighten the central issues. In many ways like Brazil, but that movie could at least end in absurdity and still be true to it's theme. Here we end with a sort of solipsistic "reality is what you make of it", which unfortunately hurts the overall message imo. Under the Skin Some thematic spoilers ahead: A very beautiful film, but not a very interesting one. It's pretty clear that Glazer had no idea what to do with the elements he was working with and in the end he seems to decide that the visual (almost visceral) feel of the movie should be the pillar that carries it through. But he introduces so many unresolved elements to his story, that they end up diluting the silent horror and alien feel. In some ways Glazer tries to do the opposite of "The Man Wo Fell to Earth" - where the 70s film examined the horror of a shallow external existence, "Under the Skin" examines the horror of shallow internal one. Showing that the main character is often a lot more hollow on closer inspection, to allow multiple viewers to sympathize and relate. The movie thus tries to be a sort of existentialist mirror. I feel however that an even more simplistic approach would have helped the movie, which would have compounded the dichotomy of the main character. Portraying her "humanity" and "alienaity" and helping convey the theme of "the human condition" in a more effective way. Fortune favors the bald. Chilloutman
Did someone already seen Interstellar? I hoped it will be like prequel to SMAC but i dont any emotional boring stuff... I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is?
