Sheikh Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I recently discovered the beautiful sound of the instrument called a harp. I think it fits well into any medieval style RPG. So do you think its likely it will make a showing? Any other harp fans out there? 1
Silverbarr Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Harp would be awesome, but please, allow me to bring Kvothe into this world with the most perfect of instruments for the bard-like, the lute! 3
Rostere Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Harp darp 1 "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
nikolokolus Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Harp is nice, but I'm holding out hope for the kazoo. So much evocative, great sounds, emotions! 2
PrimeJunta Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Can't be properly medieval without the hurdy-gurdy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHmML7bu-iM 6 I have a project. It's a tabletop RPG. It's free. It's a work in progress. Find it here: www.brikoleur.com
JFSOCC Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 harp is beautiful, I hope to hear lots of it. Remember: Argue the point, not the person. Remain polite and constructive. Friendly forums have friendly debate. There's no shame in being wrong. If you don't have something to add, don't post for the sake of it. And don't be afraid to post thoughts you are uncertain about, that's what discussion is for.---Pet threads, everyone has them. I love imagining Gods, Monsters, Factions and Weapons.
IndiraLightfoot Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I hope there will be plenty of musical instruments made from animal bladders and other membranes. Nothing beats the squeaky hums of Ye Farty Olde Haggis Squeeze, the magical bagpipes for a bard I never got to make for Josh & Co, since I hadn't enough dough at the time of the Kickstarter. Making it is very difficult and gory. Here's how the bloody process begins: *** "The words of someone who feels ever more the ent among saplings when playing CRPGs" ***
AGX-17 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) I recently discovered the beautiful sound of the instrument called a harp. I think it fits well into any medieval style RPG. So do you think its likely it will make a showing? Any other harp fans out there? I am extremely incredulous about this post. As such, I will continue the ongoing activity of satirizing this post by stating my desire to see the soundtrack prominently feature the theremin. Edited January 2, 2014 by AGX-17
Robsidious Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Why so cynical? Ubiquitous trolling in the internet not withstanding. Personally, I think the harp is one of the most beautiful and evocative instruments in the world, and I surely hope it features in PE. Harp, violin, piano, guitar. The harp is probably most suited for PE out of all of these, though also the least versatile to my layman's ears. 1
Labadal Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Could see it working in a temple or in a slow/emotional situation or mystic city.
Messier-31 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Bagpipe solo. 2 It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air...
skydragon81 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Someone playing an harp in a temple is always (pretty much) a good thing
rjshae Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 You guys will harp on about anything and everything... 1 "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
SophosTheWise Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Or just hire Kirill Pokrovsky to bring in a myriad of weird instruments and sound scapes. Man, I love Pokrovsky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNhzVigirQA&list=PLE227056841D08FBF 1
