I like how the game that represented 1989, was SimCity 2000.

In other news, the game representing 1995 will be Madden '09.

You see, ever since the whole Doritos Locos Tacos thing, Taco Bell thinks they can do whatever they want.

Well, it turned out to be Crusader :p

And there was nothing wrong with SimCity2000 represeting it's prequel for 1989 either.  I also loved the Jagged Alliance for 1994.

What are the odds that 1998 will be Baldur's gate? ( Since they don't have FO2 anymore :grin;)

I had a hard time getting that game to work good the last time I tried to play it. I would buy it again if they did all the work for me.

Tomb Raiders eh. Not surprising, but i'm not touching it. Could be one of the few games i liked, that i will never play again to keep the good memories only.

Deus Ex looks like it's going to be up there for some time with the purchasing, 2:09 as of now

Over 6 hours total!

With that being said, I just knew I'd miss Gothic 1. I have the rest of the games that they've had up so far in some form, except for some of the Might & Magics and Crusader.

I wonder if Psychonauts will be the 2005 game.

Oh, and for 2004, I'll bet they'll use it to debut their launch for Vampire TM - Bloodlines. Or Far Cry or Hitman 3.

Stalker x3 DRM free 70% off, not too shabby. :)

I just noticed that. I have Pripyat and Chernobyl via Steam already but having them via GoG and not being Steam-dependent would be great.

Free? Why, yes please. I knew there was a reason I hadn't tried to get it from GoG yet. ;) **

**in reality, I still have my DKGold on disc/installed on an XP machine, but being able to play Deeper Dugeons on Win7 will be nice too

Anyone know, if you already have the official DK1 editor files from the disc version, if they'll work on Win7 with GoG's version? (you had to manually "install" the editor by copying files, even back then).

I know the editor isn't included with GoG's file, dunno if that's because it doesn't work with GoG's tweaks to make it playable on later O/S...

...that is all... ;)

...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!...

A long, long time ago, but I can still remember,
How the Trolling used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance",
And maybe we'd be happy for a while.
But then Krackhead left and so did Klown;
Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town.
Bad news on the Front Page,
BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage.
I can't remember if I cried
When I heard that TORN was recently fried,
But sadness touched me deep inside,
The day...Black Isle died.

So, GOG is adding some more new titles (one allegedly being Risen 3, since the first two games are definitely coming), but with regional pricing.

Hilarity ensues as GOG staff get their posts downvoted to oblivion and people throw their previous pronouncements back in their faces. I'd be outraged too, seeing as we always get lumped in with the Ockers and their a kidney for a game pricing scheme but fortunately I know what a VPN is and get the compensatory benefit of a certain visceral thrill when sticking it to the man and getting US or UK pricing.

Posted

Thing is, the regional pricing of The Witcher 2 was defeatable by simply changing the country field in your user profile. If I have to VPN in to buy from GOG, I'm not going to be pleased and seek alternatives. I mean even bloody Amazon doesn't do geolocation.

I didn't like it when they did it for The Witcher 2, but bought the game anyway. What sweetened the deal that time was free digital copy of PS: T and Septerra Core. I have finished both but not The Witcher 2- Oh, the irony.

Annoying that they have been doing this whole holier than thou thing in the game-retail world, and now they try to put a spin on it how they are doing it for the cause.
