Walsingham Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 The UK is sweltering at the moment, and set to stay so for at least a week more. I am loving it, but it is rather warm. Mainly to amuse myself I fired up skyrim and schlepped up into the mountains, then dove into an icy mountain stream. Lovely. 1 "It wasn't lies. LadyCrimson Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 From the title, I was expecting some pictures of Walsh sitting on a dryer in his heart-covered Valentine's Day boxers or something. Woldan Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Whats ''rather warm'' in England? 10° Celsius? Just above freezing? I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
Walsingham Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 Whats ''rather warm'' in England? 10° Celsius? Just above freezing? 27 degreed celsius. We're hotter than Rangoon. "It wasn't lies. Gorgon Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Was sticky hot yesterday. Now on my days off it's cloudy. Naturally of course. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
LadyCrimson Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 27 degreed celsius. We're hotter than Rangoon. So about 81F? ...that's an average (literally), pleasant summer day here. Barely break a sweat weather, unless you're running a marathon in full sun at 1pm. But definitely nice weather. Not too hot, not at all chilly. “Things are as they are. Woldan Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 27 Celsius is a pretty average summer day temperature here in Austria, but we usually have a week or two with 37 Celsius (thats 98F I think). I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
Humanoid Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I assumed it was meant to be dry British humour, but then I see articles that call that weather hot unironically. http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/hot-weekend-for-london-birming/15188283 L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G
Raithe Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 You guys have to remember, we're all adjusted to being pleasantly warm and strip down to tshirts for soccer games when it's around 14 C (about 55 F) or so. When the weather hits 20 C, it's just warm. When it's bouncing between 26-30 C (around the 80-88 F) range, it's feeling sweltering. 1 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

Gorgon Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 It was barely 26 yesterday and I had a blower on max setting pointed directly at my face just to get some work done. We don't have air conditioning. It's only hot 14 days a year, so noone bothers. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

Nonek Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 It must be remembered that it feels considerably hotter because of the natural warmth of the English personality. 3 Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!
Walsingham Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 It must be remembered that it feels considerably hotter because of the natural warmth of the English personality. LOL. You have to recall we've had what feels like an eternal night of crap weather. Last summer barely happened at all! All over the place English people can be seen staring in dumb wonderment as they go a funny brown colour. "It wasn't lies. Raithe Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I think whats making this more of a pain, is that there's bugger all air movement. When its hot and there's a breeze, it's not so bad. But when its just "dead" air thats hanging oppresively there as you kind of bake, it feels a lot more draining. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

Most people around here don't wear jackets at 55-60F or so here, either, unless it's really windy or raining. Unless you're my husband, who gets blanket-cold if it drops below 72. Altho it is odd, how 55F in summer feels fine, but 55F in mid-winter feels chillier, somehow, even on windless evenings. The gauge says the same number, and yet...I guess because the sun on the skin just doesn't feel as hot? Psychological? Dunno. “Things are as they are. Gorth Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 27 Celsius? Pfft, we had a solid week of 90+ Farenheit (32 Celsius) with about 80% humidity. Sounds like a typical summer day here. 27 degrees would be a mild spring day. I need to get my mind out of the gutter...
