Meshugger Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Russians are funny in a weird way. Walsingham Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Note the use of proud 'sardaukars' to herd unarmed migrants. Do you don't known about difference between riot police and military/FSB special ops? )))) And why so butthurt, explain please. On my point of view all participants of this arrest are happy, nobody beaten, gunned or teased. Where you find discrimination here? The difference is that British police don't use firearms, apart from specialist units. Your alty bull**** seems trapped in the days when Soviet Russia claimed Moscow had no murders. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

Malcador Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 This is the most entertaining thread here. 1 Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
HoonDing Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 He didn't say they didn't carry firearms, only that they didn't use them. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Zoraptor Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, it's untrue and unfair and a horrendous slur on our fine bobbies. After all, if they didn't carry guns on occasion how could the protect the British Bulldog Old Blighty Spirit of Dunkirk people of this blessed plot from the scourge and depredations of reprobates such as that Brazilian electrician who deliberately and callously impersonated a known person of interest and then shot himself repeatedly in the back of the head all just to embarrass us. And you know what, he was an illegal immigrant, just showing just how perfidious a threat they are! (Sorry, the Daily Mail wanted an example of my writing for their job interview, and I wanted something for the Sun too. I think I may have overdone it with the rampant nationalistic hyperbole though, after all there's no way the two best selling papers in Britain would publish a load of pseudo- well, maybe not pseudo for the Daily Heil- fascist rhetoric, there's no demand for such things in the UK and the fantastic press system ensures if it ever happened it'd never reoccur).
Malcador Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Come now, surely you considered prostitution before the Mail. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Zoraptor Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Unfortunately there's far too many ingrate immigrant prostitutes taking our, uh, jobs so there isn't much call for a grandfatherly gigolo with a cool aristocratic accent and impeccable tailoring any more.
Malcador Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 That is a good point, the Slavic women are superior to the UK natives. Why has elegance found so little following? kgambit Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Russia and child labor (waiting for the predictable denials, excuses, claims that we "westlings don't understand Russian culture" and cries of western butthurt from Oby our resident ultra-nationalist troll) A new report by risk analysis firm Maplecroft, which ranks 197 countries, identifies Eritrea, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Sudan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Yemen as the 10 places where child labor is most prevalent. Countries with high poverty rates fare badly in the index due to the need for children to supplement their family income, the report said, but economically important countries like China, India, Russia and Brazil were also found to have extreme risks because child labor laws are often poorly enforced. http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/15/world/child-labor-index-2014/index.html?hpt=wo_t4 Global trafficking is an enabler of child labour - with migrant children the most vulnerable group. The problem is particularly prevalent in China and Russia, both of which have been downgraded by the US Department of State from Tier 2 Watch List to Tier 3 in its Trafficking in Persons Report 2013. This is due to the governments’ ongoing failure to comply with minimum standards, or make significant efforts to do so. Trafficking is a critical factor in Russia’s increasing risk profile in the Child Labour Index. Inefficient law enforcement, weak institutional capacity and corruption are important contributing factors. The last 10-12 years have seen significant changes in the nature of child labour in Russia, especially among migrant children who, increasingly, are found working in shops and on construction sites. Children performing work in Russia are also often engaged in the worst forms of child labour, especially in rural areas where agricultural work may involve risks to their health, such as using dangerous machinery and harmful pesticides. Source: http://maplecroft.com/portfolio/new-analysis/2013/10/15/child-labour-risks-increase-china-and-russia-most-progress-shown-south-america-maplecroft-index/ Russia (Tier 3 risk) Russia is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children who are subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking. Labor trafficking remains the predominant human trafficking problem within Russia; the Migration Research Center estimates that one million people in Russia are exposed to “exploitative” labor conditions characteristicof trafficking cases, such as withholding of documents, nonpayment for services, physical abuse, or extremely poor living conditions. During the year, workers from Russia and other countries in Europe, Central Asia, and Asia, including Vietnam and North Korea, were subjected to conditions of forced labor in Russia. The Government of Russia does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking and has been placed on Tier 2 Watch List for the last nine consecutive years. In the 2011 and 2012 TIP Reports, Russia was granted consecutive waivers from an otherwise required downgrade to Tier 3 on the basis of a written plan to bring itself into compliance with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking. The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) authorizes a maximum of two consecutive waivers; a waiver is no longer available to Russia, which is therefore deemed not to be making significant efforts to comply with the minimum standards and is placed on Tier 3. Malcador Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I suppose the criticism I read on reddit, where I found this, was more of an issue of focus rather than it being a lie or something. Still was a good read, like something out of NatGeo. Related blog about this - http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/14/down-a-road-less-traveled-looking-for-the-still-heart-of-russia/ Read that as 'within 750km' at first for some reason, so was a bit confused as what was off the track for you Why has elegance found so little following?
