adamsorkin Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Although the way things are going tonight, the may make 14.
StromIV Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 If they add backers through Paypal we just might already be at 14 levels. 1
adamsorkin Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) This is true. Edited October 16, 2012 by adamsorkin
Kilroy_Was_Here Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 What's the largest RPG dungeon without randomized levels? Watcher's keep was what... 6?
norfar Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 they will have to work very hard on it or it will be tedious and boring dungeon 2
StromIV Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 You enter the final room at the bottom of the dungeon. You see a lone chest sitting in the middle of the floor. You look at it, and then around the room to ensure there are no traps. You find nothing out of the ordinary, and then slowly approach the chest. The chest is a great, gleaming gold that shows that something important is hidden inside. You open the chest expecting something spectacular, but instead you find out that you rolled the lowest loot roll and end up with a 'Wolf's Pelt'. A message then appears, "Too bad, try again next time." ---------------------------------------------- That is what you have to look forward to at the bottom. 3
JayDGee Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 would be great if there is a lore exploration element to the dungeon. ie some mad cult kept digging and you slowly piece together clues finding out what they were looking for. then get to the end and find it, wishing you had stayed home. 1 None of this is really happening. There is a man. With a typewriter. This is all part of his crazy imagination.
Chunkyman Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I'm going to have a hissy fit if we don't get to see the feet of that statue. 2
Oerwinde Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 If it goes more than 13 levels I would put everything over 13 above ground. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Rahelron Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Please developers: DON'T SCATTER "OD NUA JOURNAL" PAGES AROUND THE DUNGEON TO EXPLAIN ITS STORY! It's so cheap and so not credible... please find another way to tell the dungeon's story! 2

It's so cheap and so not credible... please find another way to tell the dungeon's story! Having wall carvings on each level detailing the events during its construction might be a compromise. Maybe a mix of things. An object found that needs to be deciphered, wall carvings that depicts events, and journals that explain things that happened and why it was dug this deep. Many ways to intermix the way the story lore unfolds. 8
genesis Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 If Facebook likes reach 40k after KS closes would that increase the dungeon or is that only until KS closes?
rjshae Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 The levels below 10 look to be flooded in that drawing. We might need to find the rebreather gear first. "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
Oerwinde Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I think the devs said the drawing is just for fun, not representative of final product 1 The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Tamerlane Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 At long last, my swimming-environmental training-aqualung Deus Ex build will be of use! 6
Michael_Galt Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Yeah, I'm honestly kinda worried about it. I mean, I don't know how they can possibly make a dungeon that large, that actually makes sense. I guess it could just be a haven for monsters/enemies, which get progressively stronger the lower you go. That way, it acts as a constant source of "training", where you can gauge your progress in the game, sorta like Watcher's Keep. But 14- that's just crazy. "1 is 1"
JayDGee Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 The levels below 10 look to be flooded in that drawing. We might need to find the rebreather gear first. I didn't notice that before. definitely looks to be flooded. not sure if it will affect game design at all but looks great None of this is really happening. There is a man. With a typewriter. This is all part of his crazy imagination.
Gorth Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 You have to find the Amulet of Yendor and bring it back to the surface 3 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
j3cwill Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 A 13 level deep dungeon could be epic if done right. I am truly looking forward to how it plays:)
Osvir Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 If I were any better at modelling texture and the like I would try to make this dungeon in Legend of Grimrock, level editor (which is great and easy). 13 levels, seems pretty awesome :D
curryinahurry Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 So we're at 13 including Paypal or 14? I thought I read in some post that they had it plotted out for 14 levels. Either way, that's a lot of critter stompin' goodness!
JayDGee Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 with paypal it is definitely 14. also the paypal is still open atm so potentially... None of this is really happening. There is a man. With a typewriter. This is all part of his crazy imagination.
