chisled2bone Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I noticed a pretty major surge in backers today, i am assuming the update today had a lot to do with it, i hope it keeps up at this pace till the kickstarter ends. if so i think we can expect 8 levels on the mega dungeon bc i am pretty confident that the facebook page is going to reach 20k likes here soon. With 8 levels i am more than hppy about that, who knows maybe even more.
Chunkyman Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Can anyone who's good at math tell us if we'll hit the 3.0 million mark?
Monte Carlo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 3 million looks do-able to me, I've been following Kicktraq pretty much daily. Not sure about 3.5 but as I said this is my first Kickstarter. We just hit over 57500 backers, so that's another megadungeon level!
Ignatius Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 An eight level mega dungeon is pretty dang nice. Watcher's Keep was five levels plus the big baddy at the end, and that felt pretty satisfying.
Piccolo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) Can anyone who's good at math tell us if we'll hit the 3.0 million mark? It's trending towards around 3.1m at the moment. I don't think that takes into consideration last day surges though, or paypal... so I think 3.6m-3.7m is a realistic outcome. Edited October 12, 2012 by Piccolo 1
nikolokolus Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Somebody tell those damned dwarves to get off their lazy union arses and get back to work digging my dungeon! 4
eimatshya Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Yeah, from looking at comments on Obsidian's Facebook page and on these forums, I think the screenshot may have pulled in a lot of new backers and got others to donated more. Whatever the reason, I hope the surge keeps up. From looking at the kicktraq graphs from Wasteland 2, Shadowrun Returns, and Dead State, it looks like there's usually a good sized uptick in donations in the final days of the campaign, so I think it's reasonable to assume it will continue for P:E.
nikolokolus Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, people love graphics and shiny pictures. Edited October 12, 2012 by nikolokolus
Death Machine Miyagi Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 If anyone knows people who might dig the idea of an old-school RPG and hasn't yet donated money, now is the time to get them donating. I want my second city, dammit! Álrêrst lébe ich mir werde, sît mîn sündic ouge siht daz here lant und ouch die erde, der man sô vil êren giht. ez ist geschehen, des ich ie bat: ích bin komen an die stat, dâ got menischlîchen trat.
Monte Carlo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 ^ Miyagi, I've got Google Alerts on this and some days it goes crazy and some days it doesn't. Update 20 is being picked up quite slowly on the gaming sites, which is surprising.
nikolokolus Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 The game sites aren't interested because PE won't have an auction house, there won't be cross-promotional armor from Dead Space, no hawt romances announced, no super kewl co-op, no PvP, no grinding for loot and no consoles ... jesus, this game is gonna blow! 7

Hawt Asari romances are hawt though 1 Batman: [intimidate] "Let her go". Joker: [Failure] "Very poor choice of words."

Hawt Asari romances are hawt though Unassailable logic is unassailable. FWIW, PCGamer.com has given the project a lot of love. The comments in the Update #20 blurb they wrote were universally positive too ... maybe the first time I've ever seen the internets agree on something in ... forever? 1
Zeckul Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 By the way, we recently hit over 57.5K backers, so the next mega dungeon level is in!
nikolokolus Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Don't forget the 48K and 1000+ backers from Paypal ... Feargus just posted that a little bit ago on the KS comments section.
Monte Carlo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Live Q&A with Obz on PC Gamer 3pm PDT http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/10/12/project-eternity-obsidian-live-chat/
Kaldurenik Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 3pm? hmm ok i guess i will have to check it =)
Parallax Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Damn, I swear when I went to bed last night, it was 2.67 million on Kickstarter. And now... 2.72. Given that was about seven hours ago, that's a huge leap. I sure hope it continues at this pace!
KhaineGB Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I'd be shocked if they didn't hit 3mil. 3.5 might be pushing it a bit with only 4 days left to go... but I hope they get it.
C2B Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Look what I found..... http://www.ustream.tv/channel/project-eternity-live-stream
True_Spike Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) I do believe the project needs a ton more publicity in the final days, be it through huge gaming sites like gamespot or IGN (which I hate, but are strangely popular nonetheless) or via youtube personas (the like of Total Biscuit, who, I'm sure, would be very interested in doing an interview / feature about the project given his love towards complex and PC-oriented games in general). This would help a lot! I would have never learned about P:E hadn't it been for word of mouth. There are many more *thousands* of potential backers out there who might have no idea about the project even exists. Edited October 12, 2012 by True_Spike
Kaldurenik Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Yes they should get the word out there more... Get interviews with larger youtube channels, websites. And i guess we pledgers could keep the discussion about PE up on forums and stuff.
Monte Carlo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 We need the endorsements of hawt women and Vin Diesel. Hey, has anybody asked Vin about this? He's a deadly serious gamer. And he looks like Minsc. 3
Sugarjaye Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 We need the endorsements of hawt women and Vin Diesel. Hey, has anybody asked Vin about this? He's a deadly serious gamer. And he looks like Minsc. Does he have a twitter account..... ???? The shadow in the corner of your eye. The cold steel pressed to your throat. The beautiful vision that may be your last. Do not breath, for the Petite Death has your Soul in her hand.
C2B Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 They seem to be doing their best, updating their kickstarter video, Q&As, Livestream, Interviews. This campaign has been the most passionate and best managed Kickstarter campaign so far.
