Currently 56.3 gigs, but it's frequently changes. Thank god for Internode making Steam unmetered.

I know, right? Having to use Steamwatch is kind of annoying, though.

And I have a 50gb quota so I'm not sure it even matters

Is there actually any way to install Steam games outside of the steamapps folder? I made my Steam partition a bit too small, and considering I buy more and more from them, I might have to resort to some brutal methods for my Hard drive.

Sort of. You can change the Steam install directory but only when installing Steam. Make a backup of your steamapps folder, uninstall Steam, reinstall Steam, select a HD or partition with more free space, install there, then move your steamapps backup there. Will probably have to validate all your games again which would take probably 1 minute per game.

Just over 26GB.

I generally order disk versions of the big, new games. Most of the stuff I buy from Steam is smaller (World of Goo, Machinarium) or older (Deus Ex, The Longest Journey, Bloodlines). A big hunk of that 26GB is Empire: Total War, which installed in the Steam folder despite coming off a disk.

61GB.

Like Enoch, I generally prefer to buy retail, as it is usually cheaper, but a some games went into the Steam folder, anyway. The Last Remnant and Empire are two of those.

I buy the following games on Steam: old ones not on GOG.com, Valve games (way cheaper, and they use Steam anyway), games half their price in shops here (not hard due to both Steam sales and exchange rate), indie games, games under $20.

For example, Dragon Age on Steam cost about $35, but in stores it'd be about $90.

I can see a pattern emerging.

I think I can use complex analysis and write up a Python script to try and devise a set of equations for predicting the behaviour of this pattern.

I've been holding a piece of A4-sized cardboard fooscap file over a kettle for twenty minutes now and it's still empty.

Far more amusing than my reply. Good show, Monte.

Nothing installed on steam atm, though my steam backup folder is about 10 GB (only games stored are those I downloaded off steam without having a retail copy such as orange box for example.)

How big is your Steam folder?

That's what she said.

And I don't actually have Steam on my computer. Doubt I'll ever need it.

I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
