Slowtrain Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Reading the article Hell Kitty makes me a lot less interested in the game. ANother linear FPS. WIth monsters. Oh well. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
Oner Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 And, on occasion, onto the frozen, lifeless world above Giveaway list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DgyQFpOJvyNASt8A12ipyV_iwpLXg_yltGG5mffvSwo/edit?usp=sharing What is glass but tortured sand?Never forget! '12.01.13.
Morgoth Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 This is the sort of games I'll wait at least a few months after release before buying, because previews indicate that it's a buggy mess and horribly balanced. Rain makes everything better.
Purkake Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 This is the sort of games I'll wait at least a few months after release before buying, because previews indicate that it's a buggy mess and horribly balanced. I could have told you that a year ago. Hmm, actually I did, on the first page...
Morgoth Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Metro 2033 was reviewed my German print mag "Gamestar", and got a respectable 85%. It's only 7 hour long, very linear and gunning is easier than stealth. Rain makes everything better.
Slowtrain Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 It's only 7 hour long, A game that short has to be brilliant to be worth more than a handful of change and some pocket lint. Linear monster mashes don't cut it. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. Guest Slinky Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Right. I might pick this up on steam sale someday if it's cheap enough.
Musopticon? Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Yeah, shame about the length, I was really interested. Now though, I don't want to fork over the dough for a full price game which offers only 7-12 hours of entertainment, too little content for a student's frail budget. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
Purkake Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Wow, you get Red Faction: Guerrilla for free when you pre-purchase this on Steam. Probably worth it just for that.
Morgoth Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Except, RFG sucks. I'll probably wait till December and snatch it for 10 Rain makes everything better.
Purkake Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 (edited) I guess you're also allergic to fun. Dismantling stuff and watching it fall apart is something common to all humans, you soulless automaton. Edited March 14, 2010 by Purkake
Morgoth Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Blowing **** up gets really old very fast. What else does RF offer? Sand? Rain makes everything better.
Purkake Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 You don't just "blow stuff up", this isn't GTA. Instead you methodically dismantle structures by destroying support beams and other structurally important points. Then you marvel at your work as the building slowly collapses under it's own weight. Also, explosives aren't nearly as fun as the sledgehammer or the nano rifle.
Morgoth Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Oh yeah, great. It's still a boring game. Rain makes everything better.
Purkake Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I'm sure you're the foremost expert on that subject without having ever played it.
Morgoth Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I'm sure you're the foremost expert on that subject without having ever played it. I played it for an hour or so, but then I had to realize how pointless this whole game was, so I quit. Rain makes everything better.
Walsingham Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I guess you're also allergic to fun. Dismantling stuff and watching it fall apart is something common to all humans, you soulless automaton. It's better with a real hammer. And a panda. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
Purkake Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Probably, but they don't really let us demolish skyscrapers here
Guest Slinky Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Gametrailers review Gives a good overview of the game, atmospheric but flawed. Yeah, I'll pick this up from a steam super sale, the current 49,99€ is ridiculous.
Purkake Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Atmospheric and flawed? Sounds like STALKER. Those Russian developers should try to mix it up a bit
Slowtrain Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Atmospheric and flawed? Sounds like STALKER. Those Russian developers should try to mix it up a bit Except STALKER wasn't actually flawed. Buggy, yes, but the gameplay and level design is pretty solid. Clear Sky was a bit flawed with its malfuncting Faction Wars though. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. Purkake Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Flawed and buggy are pretty much the same in my book, but STALKER had a ton of non-bug related gameplay flaws as well that they are still in the process of fixing with Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat.
Gorgon Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I'm currently playing Call of Pripyat. No crashes yet. Not a single one. Clear Sky crashed on average once every 45 mins. The level design is not quite as good as earlier. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Slowtrain Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Flawed and buggy are pretty much the same in my book, If buggy=flawed then all games are flawed and it has nothing to do with being made by a Russian or any other developer. but STALKER had a ton of non-bug related gameplay flaws as well that they are still in the process of fixing with Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. No game works perfectly, but STALKER is no worse than any other. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names.
