If you not already played any Hal-Life game available, you're insane. But you're bat**** insane if you're not buying the HL games now, available on Steam with 66% discount.

Half Life: Source at $3.39, that's ****ing insane

It's also ****ing ugly and has/had a load game-scripted scene stucks bug.

Does it? Heh, good thing I have the original Half Life "Platinum collection" sitting on a shelf under my desk.

I loves me some Opposing Force.

Wait for Black Mesa if you want a decent HL remake.

Who doesn't have all the games anyway? If you haven't played them by now you must obviously hate Valve or FPSes.

Black mesa is the duke nukem forever of mods.

No updates since last november is also a little ominous.

I have not played them. I usually get bored with shooters pretty quickly, but I'm beginning to suspect that I should probably play a little bit of the half-life stuff if only for general cultural literacy. (The same urge made me try Deus Ex about a year ago, and the parts of it I got through were mostly worthwhile.) Give me the sales pitch.

As an aside, both Portal and Deus Ex gave me some motion sickness (the former much moreso than the latter-- I couldn't play it for more than an hour or so in one sitting without feeling ill).

The only thing I might get would be Half Life: Source as I own everything else (or at least I think I do). :)

You gotta look at the twitter updates at the bottom of the page apparently they absolutely assure it will come out this year. But I wouldn't bet on it.

"For ourselves, we shall not trouble you with specious pretences- either of how we have a right to our empire because we overthrew the Mede, or are now attacking you because of wrong that you have done us- and make a long speech which would not be believed; and in return we hope that you, instead of thinking to influence us by saying that you did not join the Lacedaemonians, although their colonists, or that you have done us no wrong, will aim at what is feasible, holding in view the real sentiments of us both; since you know as well as we do that right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."

If you want to get some sweet Half-Life action try HL2. It's a fun shooter with pretty good pacing and a lot of variety, once you get the gravity gun, it's even more fun.

As for the motion sickness, HL2 is certainly better than Portal, but it's still a FPS. I'd try to turn off motion blur and head bobbing and generally take it easy when playing. Someone who actually gets motion sickness might be more help to you, though.

The KotOR II restoration mod is the Duke Nukem Forever of mods. I think Valve is helping the Black Mesa guys out and might even buy them out and release Black Mesa with the next *color* Box from what I've heard(it might be just rumors, though).

Deus Ex had head bob you can turn that off to reduce motion sickness.

Speaking of which Blueshift for 1.69? How could I refuse.

No discount for Portal, meh.

I personally prefer disc over steam, but this is tempting. I wonder what games are going to be on the next box, which includes EP3.

Portal 2 is pretty much confirmed and probably some non L4D multiplayer game. Maybe Counter-Strike 2?

If I buy these games from the Valve store will they be shipped to me or do I have to download them?

They'll be connected to your Steam account and you'll have to download them, but you can redownload them as much as you want to as many computers as you want.

Keyword there: wait. Haha that's all people's been doing and will continue to do so for who knows how long.

I used to care about having a hard copy of my games, but not anymore. Case in point, last night I had no clue where my Stalker disc ran off to - if I would've gotten it through steam I wouldn't have wasted all that time looking for the disc or the compatible no cd patch of which I had to opt for.

If it doesn't come out, there won't be a decent HL remake, it's that simple.

People who don't like Half-life? They exist, you know.

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

That's like saying you don't like ice cream.

How do you know you don't like it, if you haven't played it?
