Guest PoziomyPion
Purkakake thanks for reminding me about that game! I loved it , it was one of my first RPGs, and my first jRPG! I'm so buying it when it hits GOG, Septerra Core was ahead of its time in my opinion, the story and voice acting rocked! Had it on CD, but lost it

It is like 100h long thanks to all the looong areas with a million enemies. The story was interesting and the voice acting was pretty good, but what I will always remember from it is the world. I can't think of too many gameworlds that have layers of floating continents. The ending was also pretty interesting for me then and the fate card combining system blew my mind

Purkake
I've heard the name a few times but know little. What's the key gameplay attraction? Well it's pretty much like a JRPG: your dudes are on one side and the enemies are on the other, when your "time meter" fills up you can attack, it has three levels of filled-ness which allow for more powerful attacks. There is no usual magic, all magic comes from "fate cards" which you collect over the course of the game, you have three characters at a time(you can choose from 9 total) and each of them can use a card so you can mix them to get better effects. For example you have one character use "water", another use "all" to affect all enemies. Here's an illustrative screenshot:
Tigranes
I played FF games so I'm not one to complain about JRPG combat, but it seems pretty generic. Or is story supposed to be the thing that keeps you going? Can't tell you much direct about story because at one point i just was unable to continue the game and at that time i was without internet so didn't have access to any walkthrough and i think i was unable to finnish more than 10% of the game Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Wrath of Dagon
I played SoT on the Xbox, it's good but depends on how good you are at platforming. What really annoyed me was that you could not save checkpoints, thus if you quit before finiishing a level, you'd have to start that level again, so I only did 30% of the game. PC saves may work differently, I don't know. "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Purkake
I can't finish Septerra Core - if anyone knows how to beat that Lava Boss? I bet you will never see LA and EA games on GoG... it's not in their bussiness strategy... Hm? It would fit GOG, but maybe you meant is isn't LA's and EA's strategy. I'm assuming you mean the three tentacle lava boss and not the Hellgod which looks like a giant mole? Here's a quote from a strategy guide: Sonic Lava Device:This will probably be your first truely challenging boss battle. This bio-organic Chosen device consists of three tentacles that shoot fire at your party members, plus a central orb which can't be attacked but which can spray your entire party with lava or heal the tentacles with fire. Physical attacks do negligent damage to the tentacles. The trick is to use Summon + Water to summon Sedna and Pilak, doing considerable water-based damage to the tentacles (one or two summons is all that you need to destroy each one). Have your two best magic users use the summon attack, while the third party member uses core runes to keep your Core level up. I don't really remember how I did it, but it took a few tries. Some of the attacks are combos, which require you to do subquests to get. One is a Led-Grubb combo: To get Led and Grubb to get together (Led's got a lot of issues, eh?), put bothin your party, and go to the Ankaran Capitol, where the pirates have taken over. Examine the (unguarded) locked door with either of them, and they'll work together to open it. Once inside, Maya runs off to do whatever, and Led gets attacked. Grubb has a choice of whether or not to help her out or go after pirates that have a really good (for that point in the game) core engine (the Force Blitzer). Help Led out and you get the Combo skills. Edited March 27, 2009 by Purkake

Azure79
*sigh* I'm never gonna find a working copy of FF7/8 am I? And there was much rejoicing. I actually have the PC versions buried somewhere deep within my closest. Also, Sands of Time is an excellent game. You do have to like platforming, but none of the game's challenges are that difficult since you have the ability to rewind time and try again. I think you'll find yourself having a great time as you have the Prince perform some cool acrobatic feats. Some of the combat challenges might get tedious, though I thought the combat was really enjoyable, but nothing too difficult. One you learn how to use enemies and the walls as launching points for attacks it really becomes fun and fluid. Nothing beats luring an enemy close to a wall, have them swing at you only to miss as you've used the wall to soar through the air over them, hitting them twice before you fall. I love Sands of Time. There is an annoying bug with using an item in the wrong place and getting stuck later on. Maybe it will help with your stuff as well? I had crashes, but I don't remember those things specifically causing it. Also a little hind: take care of all the characters, even the one's you're not using, you will need ALL of them in the end.
