Morgoth Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Yep, CIA thriller - Dark Brotherhood - checked. Since that guy said "January eight things"...does that mean SEGA is going to make some major announcements in January? "January eight things" means they're items posted on January 8th. Not my fault Americans use such wacky designations. Rain makes everything better.
Hell Kitty Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 "January Eight". Man, what will those wacky Americans thing of next.
thepixiesrock Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Word on the streets is Feburary Five is in the works. We won't know for sure until next month though. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.
Humodour Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The CIA/FBI deal with cults, no? I think it's highly highly probably "The Dark Brotherhood" is indeed the other project Obsidian is working on.
Tale Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The CIA/FBI deal with cults, no? Did you ever watch X-Files? "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Gorgon Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 It's not the size of the plot, it's the movement in the ocean. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Pidesco Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Info on an Obsidian game that is a new IP? Well, I never! SteveThaiBinh Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I agree that "The Dark Brotherhood" is a horrible name for a game. Aside from the Oblivion connection, I also get an unpleasant Dan Brown-esque vibe from it. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Dark_Raven Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 That's the name? How stupid. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Humodour Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) That's the name? How stupid. It's likely just a trade name, like Jefferson was. EDIT: And then I realised Obsidz don't give their projects real names unless they mean to. This game would have a political sounding name if it were just the production moniker. Uh oh! thepixiesrock Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 The Dark Brotherhood is a state, right? Right? kirottu Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 How is that name stupid or sucky and who really cares? To me it sounds like perfectly normal game name. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Humodour Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 How is that name stupid or sucky and who really cares? To me it sounds like perfectly normal game name. I agree, but: 1) it could also be better, 2) it reminds me of Morrowind, due to an assassin's guild by the same name.
Tale Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 An Assassin's guild even more prominently featured in Oblivion as a major questline/joinable faction. If it weren't for Bethesda being a publisher themselves, I would think the game would have to be theres. Also, keep in mind that even if the rumor is true, as rumors often have distorted messages, the name may be be incomplete or distorted. It could be The Dark Brother of ___ or ____: The Dark Brotherhood Which, with an appropriate cover wouldn't seem so bad. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

Well considering that they called one of the most recent fallout games "Fallout Fantasy" I'm hot holding much faith in the name's validity.

thepixiesrock Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I just finished my game of Mahjong Titans, and now I'm going to play Minesweeper, because I can never win at Chess Titans. Nick_i_am Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hey! Lets make a game in the Planescape setting about a guy who's tormented! We'll call it, Planescape: Torment! Wow, i'm glad PC games are here to come up with intelligent names that put consoles to shame. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Morgoth Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 It's really a sad day when (console?) gamers start mocking such a classic like Planescape: Torment. Rain makes everything better.
Nick_i_am Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I loved PST, it was you I was mocking. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Tale Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I loved PST, it was you I was mocking. Psst. Hey. I'm pretty sure he got that you were mocking him. He's just being intentionally dense to troll you. It's a fabulous tactic and I admire him for using it. Everyone should express their inner troll every so often. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
