Mass Effect

I liked the soundtrack quite a bit. Especially Virmire, Noveria, Criminal Elements, Vigil and Saren.

Urgh, I finished the game. Everything until the praise part with Council was great, I really liked the boss fights and Ilos was awesome like hell. I just wished that the rest of the game had featured as intricate backgrounds and inspired ambience as Ilos. Virmire and Noveria were pretty great, but the rest of the planets felt like a corridor shooter, in a bad way.

Also, lol for asari sex.

LOL @ Asari sex too. Virmire was awesome, but Ilos was the best. Joker is the best.

Also, this game is amazing. The "walking on the wall" part was just plain awesome, not to mention the final boss fight. I've finished the game in barely 13 hours, so I'm going back in as a female **** renegade shepard this time, while trying to do pretty much everything.

Captain Anderson is badass.

Man, you are slow. I did every single mission, except the Dr. Heart Mission, and beaten the game less than 27 hours with a 49th level character.

I beat it in 13 hours by doing absolutly no side quests at all.

Don't do this, seriously. Mass Effect is so much mroe fun when exploring everything.

L0L Aren't you the one who tookm 40 hours or so to beat JE? It only took me 27. All this proves is that people play games at their own pace, and avries for each game. For ME, I spent a lot of time on random planets riding in my MAKO looking at the sites, (re)reading the Codex, and organzing the crappy inventory, and going back and forth to the Citedal.

I only went back the Citadel twice after I left it.

I didn't even bother trying to organize the inventory setup. I hope they fix this in ME2. I prefer NWN2's inventory system over the ME/KotOR method.

27 hours seems a bit fast. I did most every quest including the doctor heart mission and finished out at around lvl 47 with around 33 hours of play time. But yeah you can blast through the game without stopping to look at the scenery or you can delve into the games more specific features for the entire experience. Whatever.

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

So I've been playing Mass Effect today, and me and my brother are using the same save file, so we've been playing together for the most part, but it turns out yesterday I missed a bit from taking control of the Normandy to on Noveria. I'm up to the part where you fight Benezia the aqua faced bitch, but she's kicked my ass 10 times already, so I was wondering if you folks had any tips as to how to beat her and her minions.

It's most likely the crew you brought with you thats causing problems. Biotics are kind of tough to handle if you are using tech specialist (I think). When I fought her I had Liara (for story purposes) and ashely and I think I only died my first attempt because I tried taking Benezia head on thinking I could kill her and it was just a tad too late once I got around to killing all the waves of enemies.

If I were you I'd stand behind one of the pillars(?) or w/e obstacles there are so she can't hit you with biotics. Then just take out each incoming wave to the best of your abilities. After like 3 or so waves she'll lose her uber shields or w/e and you'll be able to fight her.

Edit: Also you can adjust the difficulty setting on the fly.

It's probably also because of the stats and equipment of my character and her crew. It only takes two or three shots from those Asari commandos to kill me and my party members.

I've tried the hide, cover and shoot method from one of those pillar crate thingamajigs, but when the enemies have their biotic shields on and shooting them does bugger all, they just run up close to me and blast me away.

I think my character's only about level 13. I'll go and check next time I jump on there, which will be soon. I can't afford jack **** because everything decent is expensive compared to my measily 4000 something credits. I don't have anything valuable to sell either.

LEVEL 13?!?!?!?

Man, the lowest level I have ever taken on Benezia was level 25.

Well it scales, so that shouldn't matter too much. It also depends on what order you tackle the planets. I also went after Benezia first, and it was the toughest fight of the game for me. I bet if I'd waited until later it would have been easier.

I went to Artemis Tau first and it was pretty challenging. The other planets not so.

Though I didn't try killing the alien queen or going to Feros early. I assume Feros would have been hell if you went there first.

if you is only level 49 at end of game, then it seems very unlikely that you were having done every quest except dr. heart. almost guaranteed you missed a few more... whether you realize or not.

contrast: Gromnir were level 50 Before ilos.

Was my ending broken? I've heard praise about the ending music, but all that i can remember is that it was the same as the main menu-music

Maybe i need to try to rerun the whole ilos->ending part again.

You'll likely need the "Completionist"-achievement to get the track.

And Hades completing most of the side quests on level 49 is bull. You can reach level 60 if you complete around 90 percent of the quests, but the game caps at level 50 on the first playthrough.

I clocked in 42 hours btw, longest ever on a Bioware game.

Yeah, at end game, I was level 48, and di quite a bit of quests, and obviously took my time comapred to many as it wa sabout a 45 hour tri. And, there are some known popular quests I missed. ie. Space monkies, and Rachni rampagers are two noticeable ones plus I think I missed the planet where you used the Consort's disk (or just missed the place you use it, HA!).

Ending music, I believe, is the only track that actually has lyrics in it.

Lyrics? I think that i will have to restart the old save then, and complete some sidequests.

I've only started my first "main planet" (the one with Liara)... and that's AFTER playing for 7 hours looking for random stuff to do. I got to high levels fast and now have a specialization class (nothing special)... I didn't even get there on the first playthrough.

Oh, and I found EARTH! YAY! Except nothing happens on it... Yawn.

I'm starting to like the music more.. reminds me of the old Red Alert games.

EDIT: My Biotic terrorist side quest is bugged. I got in the warehouse, but found no captain Kyle. So I shot an explosive barrel which was accidently right next to a terrorist, so the guy got angry like it was all my fault ( :- ) and then shots were flying everywhere until I killed them all.

Still can't complete it though.

Well, I thought I did all the quests. I got the completionist achievement and no other quests popped up except for the main story line quests. I had zero outstanding assignments and i went to every single star system that was available for me to visit.

More systems are available after the first few main planets... maybe more become available after another point in the game? Maybe after you leave the Citadel with the help of Anderson?

There's probably a LOT of side quests in the Citadel though... you just have to find them.

Most of the systems are available from the get-go, but a few are "unlockable" via quests. For example, after you clear out the geth from the 4 systems in the Armstrong Cluster, a 5th appears.

Yeah I'm starting a new play-through, probably tonight.

What order of quest/plot planets would you recommend I do? This time around I won't be going to Noveria first, and going by Mus?'s word, going to Feros first would be a no no.

I was going to play as a male character but I couldn't create a decent looking face. I think the whole face customisation thing is quite ****, actually. The default guy is pretty cool. If only I could change his eye colour and hair style, there'd be my character face.
