Volourn Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 "Anyone else get a Fallout-esque feel to the multiple endings?" Yes, Obsidian did very well with the multiple endings. It's up there with the FO series, and HOTU in terms of top notch handling of multiple endings. Overall, MOTB is a very good game. No doubt about it. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Jinx Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 (edited) I have no idea how many variables of endings there exists. Basically there's "unoptimal good ending", "optimal good ending", "unoptimal evil ending" and "optimal evil ending". However, each one of these has insane amount of variables. Looking over the audio files I *think* that the variables are determined by; Your alignment Who you brought with you for the final section of the game What your influence was with those characters Certain important dialogues you have with your companions during the adventure What/if you told Ammon about your old comrades What you did in certain side quests relating to your current companions Certain npc's you may or may not have killed Who you sided with outside the city What you did with Akachi Your conversation with Khelemvor If you pursued a romance and how that went. There are probably a few more but I think those make up the bulk of it. I'd say maybe 30 or so if you count the conversations before the slide show? Edited November 21, 2007 by Jinx
Atreides Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Is there a romance option with Kaelyn? Spreading beauty with my katana.
Tale Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Is there a romance option with Kaelyn? She's a career woman. No time for settling down. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Xard Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Nope, she reminds me of Jeanne D'Arc Also, soon I shall gorge Wood Man's delicious spirit. OM NOM NOM How can it be a no ob build. Gorth Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Nope, she reminds me of Jeanne D'Arc Also, soon I shall gorge Wood Man's delicious spirit. OM NOM NOM Heh, I completed the game without using the crafting system much... maybe because I was a "Good" guy, not eating my fellow (tree)man, or other natural and/or supernatural beings for that matter. Next time, I think it is going to be Dinner Time! “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Walsingham Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Nope, she reminds me of Jeanne D'Arc Also, soon I shall gorge Wood Man's delicious spirit. OM NOM NOM ROFL. I have an image of you like Sylvester the cat, with a gingham napkin around your neck. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
Xard Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Umm, how and what you can do with all the special essences? How I use Okku's essence to enhance by sword to +10 Blade of Inevitable Destruction? Or Shape of Flame's for that matter. etc. etc. etc. How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)

Save before you craft, as usual. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. Gorth Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 And if you get it, the Malleate Spirit feat can supposedly work wonders. Well, sort of. It is to Mold Spirit what Great Cleave is to Cleave. I don't know if you can create +10 stuff with it, but you can always try. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Xard Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Where do you get it? Also, spirit gorge is deliciously evil ability. DUH, of course, the satchel... I tried to mold them outside the satchel, heh How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. Tale Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Malleate comes from a weird box you find in Thay. You use the box on an essence (I think), you get the feat. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Pop Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 You have to use it on a spirit essence. I stumbled onto it, never thinking I'd figure it out. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Gorth Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 You have to use it on a spirit essence. I stumbled onto it, never thinking I'd figure it out. Took me 624 attempts to figure out what the box was for I first thought it was some kind of Hellraiser reference. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
