Slowtrain
And yet Bioshock allows me to modify the abilities of my character more extensive than so called (Action) RPGs. Not really. It was as meaningless as the "moral choice". Whereas in Deus Ex or even Diablo II modifying your character added to your list of abilities or enhanced your weak ones, in Bioshock you start out good at everything and get better, and nothing is permanent, so by the end you have no weaknesses at all. It's more like Oblivion than anything else. An all-powerful character is no more interesting than a supremely weak one. But, this hype, yes, it's stupid. But I've reason to believe that USA Today wasn't paid off, but rather, a staggeringly large contingent of console 'tards (as Yahtzee affectionately called them) actually believe this ****, and USA Today is only calling it as it sees it. geez, the last time I was here, Bioshock was going to redefine the computer game as art. what the hell happened? Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. Slowtrain
Levine did a "Molyneux" on everyone. harsh. I'll probably still buy it anyway though, just to try it out. WILL THE ALMIGHTY
I like Halo and everything, I love the game and REALLY WANT IT... but this is just plain stupid. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Morgoth
Levine did a "Molyneux" on everyone. Still pissed because you didn't get a Shock3, or pissed because you got it a week later than the rest? Anyway, Levine might be many things but a "Molyneux". Sand
I just think it is stupid that many places are billing it as a CRPG when it is obvious a FPS. Murphy's Law of Computer Gaming: The listed minimum specifications written on the box by the publisher are not the minimum specifications of the game set by the developer. @\NightandtheShape/@ - "Because you're a bizzare strange deranged human?" Pop
Levine did a "Molyneux" on everyone. harsh. I'll probably still buy it anyway though, just to try it out. It's not a bad game in the slightest, it's just not an RPG by any stretch of the imagination. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality! Still pissed because you didn't get a Shock3, or pissed because you got it a week later than the rest? Anyway, Levine might be many things but a "Molyneux". There are just too many design decisions in Bioshock, that I think were idiotic. And, considering some parts of the game are truly awesome, all the things that are crap in Bioshock really stand out a lot more. ****ers.
