did 8 flat on a treadmill but I could of easily went a lot faster and probably shaved anywhere from 20 seconds off that. Course that was when I used to run on a somewhat regular basis. Now I'd be lucky with like 9.

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

Well, I know I can run 40 yards in a shade under 4 1/2 seconds. Assuming that, you multiply that by 44 to get the necessary mile. Thats 198 seconds. So if someone had a calculator we could figure out how many minutes that would be. I'm thinking about 3 1/2 minutes, but I think I could get that down even further once I get my momentum going. Am I having to carry anything? What kind of shoes do I have on?

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

I'm thinking you should piggyback Hades, just to prove you're a manly man, you know.

Since this is an Eddo thread, I'd bet he'd prefer if you wore stilletos.

You have to be able to maintain that. Taking your 40 yard dash time and merely multiplying to get a mile is assuming infinite endurance.

I didn't assume infinte endurance, I said I thought I could get going faster once I got my momentum going, as it was I could only work with forty yards worth of momentum.

I used to run a half mile to school in five minutes as a wimpy kid (not very good imo, but coach wanted me to sign up for track anyway), but as an adult my bad knee prevents me from attempting anything beyond a short sprint.

The fastest mile is a little under 4 minutes so your 3 minutes and 18 seconds seems a little unrealistic. I'm not calling you a liar but I mean unless you've been doing wind sprints up mount Kenya and taking anabolic steroids since you were a fetus I kind of doubt you have that ability.

They say world record, but did anyone actual do that or are they just using models and equations?

World records are all just a bunch of conjecture

Only time I ever ran a mile is for a PE class in high school 6 or 7 years ago. I think I finished in about 9 minutes (I was walking half the time; I am more of an explosive slasher type and unlike Laozi I have trouble maintaining momentum.)

You've got to lean forward when you run.

I once ran away from a pack of starving teenagers, who had the idea that I was a boyband hater - this was true of course - but how they got this information is beyond me.

I think I ran about a mile before loosing them - and while it certainly seemed like more than an eternity - I'm sure it was something like 5-6 minutes. I'm thinking of developing a workoutprogram based on the experience.

Fortune favors the bald.

I've never tried a mile, but i did the 'Cooper test' when i was in the army, which means to run as fast as you can within 12 minutes. I did 2720 meters = about 1.69 american miles.

Hmm, interesting question.

Next time I go for a run, I'll do it as fast as I can, time myself and see how I go.

Sprinting is my forte, as opposed to long distance running, which I suck at.

I jogged a 3km {1.9 mile} run in about 12 minutes, so if I sprint {problem is I'll run out of energy fast and consume time} I'd probably be looking at a time of about something between just over five minutes to five and a half minutes. Probably more, since I haven't been on a run for nearly two weeks.
