Mom passed away earlier today.

I'd say something like "I won't be on for a while", but I know I'll be on tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day.

As dark is the absence of light, so evil is the absence of good.

If you would destroy evil, do good.

Evil cannot be perfected. Thank God.

I can't think of anything that would really be suitable for a situation like this so I'll follow Colrom and Darque's lead and just say:

my condolences

I don't know if poems help, but it might a little.

God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired

And a cure was not to be

So He put His arms around you

And whispered 'Come with Me.'

With tearful eyes

We watched you suffer

And saw you fade away

Although we loved you dearly

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating

Hard working hands at rest

God broke our hearts to prove

He only takes the best.

It's lonesome here without you

We miss you more each day

Life doesn't seem the same

Since you've gone away.

When days are sad and lonely

And everything goes wrong

We seem to hear you whisper

'Cheer up and carry on.'

Each time we see your picture

You seem to smile and say

'Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping

We'll meet again someday.'

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

The loss of someone close brings deep feelings of loss and sandness.

The loss of a parent brings one's own mortality into sharp focus.

I imagine you are still in shock, which will keep you numb from the feelings of incredible loss. I had to give my father's eulogy, so I didn't start to grieve until after the funeral (as I had to focus on that task).

Don't drink too much. Remember. Rejoice in her life.

Be glad that your mother is no longer in any pain, if she was in any, and always keep her in your heart: that way she will live on with you.

My sincere condolences.

Sorry, read this before and somehow missed the central message. For what little they are worth you have my sincere condolences. I have no profound wisdom to offer, which won't surprise you. But I shan't pretend I do, which might.

Hey, just read this. I'm sorry for your loss.

I heard a story not too long ago. The speaker said that he'd attended many wonderful concerts and at the end everyone had to go home. He may have been sad but also uplifted and inspired after and he didn't cry at the end, because he felt so privelaged to have attended those wonderful concerts while they were on.

I think the passing of someone very close is like that. While a concert's hardly similar to that person and we'll undoubtedly feel the loss, we also feel so privelaged and uplifted to have been part of that person's life, and likely we'll meet up sooner or later again.

Spreading beauty with my katana.
