I'm not sure why you'd need more realistic faces (nor pretty faces) to mimic expressions accurately.

That was the point I was trying to make.

 

Such a high level of realism is not needed to get the message across. Disney has been doing it for decades in their movies.

 

Many ressources could be better utilized in other areas imo.

I am finding it less of a problem to go back to older games with older graphics than I have in the past.

How do you get Bloodlines models into other games?

Well, with the Source SDK which is free if you own any Valve game like HL2, CS:S or whatever. Getting the Bloodlines art assets into a HL2 mod is as easy as making pancake then.

Well, that alone won't bring you far Sister Darque!

It actually needs a lot of work and expertise to get the rigged models properly from one game into another.
