Bokishi Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Waddya mean meh? There goes TF2 and Portal Current 3DMark
alanschu Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 It'll come eventually. I no longer absolutely need to get something as soon as humanly possible. Besides, would you rather they stick with the original release date and just have them release it regardless of the state it is in?
metadigital Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Maybe they're waiting for Vista ... OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
Fionavar Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Maybe they're waiting for Vista ... That's an intriguing thought - perhaps unfortunate - but it does have a ring of plausibility to it ... The universe is change; your life is what our thoughts make it - Marcus Aurelius (161)
metadigital Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 They're releasing it on ever console simultabeously, as well, though ... OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
GhostofAnakin Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Good, it gives me more time to buy a new computer. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Calax Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Imagine the portal gun with the grav gun in half life 2... :shudders in geekasmic glee: Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Morgoth Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I wonder if they would have been faster shipping a proper HL3 rather than Ep1+2+3? Ep1, while good and very polished, was compared to HL2 a totally forgettable experience. Rain makes everything better.
Bokishi Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Nah, a true HL3 should use a new engine and be released in 5 years. Current 3DMark
Morgoth Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 But that's not going to happen. Ep1+2+3 = HL3, so to speak. I hope Valve don't abandon full price Retail games, and I wish they'd create a new IP. And with that I mean not mere silly puzzle games like Portal. Half-Life, while an awesome franchise, needs a break. But good to know there's still Monolith who churns out awesome FPS. Rain makes everything better.
alanschu Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 A break? What with the 2 games released in the span of 6 years?
Morgoth Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 ...which every gamer on this planet played to death. Me wants something new to chew on! Rain makes everything better.
Jumjalum Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Valve have hinted recently that they might not be planning a HL3 due to the sheer volume of work that was involved in HL2 and the time it took. It may be episodes all the way, baby. We now bring you live footage from the World Championship Staring Final.

Judge Hades Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I'll wait when they have an episode collection pack.
Llyranor Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 You can jump in this game. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Morgoth Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 (edited) Episodic content sucks. You're so quickly through it that you even didn't realise you played it. I find it already cruel enough that full price games only offer me 10 hours of gameplay. Edited August 27, 2006 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Judge Hades Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 At least you aren't paying full price for them.
Morgoth Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Who knows what they're up to with Ep2? They also include TF2 and Portal, what if I don't want those? Would I get a cheaper package without that mini-game crap? Rain makes everything better.
Petay Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Imagine the portal gun with the grav gun in half life 2... :shudders in geekasmic glee: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I could totally imagine the amount of creative destruction caused with this, what with shooting cars right through portals to give the enemy a little surprise. And multiplayer? Well that would just be awesomely mad. Can't imagine being possible with more than something like 4 players at a time though, it would just get too hectic!
