Dark_Raven Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 The Goonies was a good movie for its time. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Krookie Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 (edited) What about "Little Giants" and "Heavyweights"? EDIT: Spelt "Giants" with an E. Edited August 3, 2006 by Krookie
Surreptishus Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 The Thing. If this was the first time watching this type of film I probably would have been scared.
Darth Launch Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 The Thing. If this was the first time watching this type of film I probably would have been scared. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ooh! I saw that too! We must have been watching the same channel :D OO-TINI!
Kelverin Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Big Jake (1971) - Decent western. Entertaining, as well as an interesting take on the changes in America during the early 1900 J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning
Hurlshort Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I just watch "Silverado" which was another good western.
Krookie Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I like Hildalgo, but that's not really a Western. It does feature Aragorn as a cowboy though!
Hurlshort Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Speaking of Aragorn, I just watched "A History of Violence" and was delightfully surprised. It was a great movie, perhaps in my top 10.
Kor Qel Droma Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Last night I watched High Plains Drifter for the first time. How I'd never seen that before escapes me. And then I followed that up by watching Bull Durham again. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
kirottu Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Brother by Takeshi Kintano I have a giggle fit at some point of all Takeshi movies that I have seen. This was no different. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Baley Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Yeah, I sorta feel the same, maybe except Dolls, but it's been a while, don't exactly remember my initial reaction, maybe the park scenes were giggle-worthy? Also, Brother is his funniest film. Yeah, funnier than Kikujiro.
Petay Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I've just come back from seeing the new Miami Vice movie. I can pretty honestly say i'm not that impressed. Firstly, there was a hell of a lot of sex in it. Sure, sex is nice and all, but I paid good money to watch a quality action movie with lots of explosions and guns, not to watch some couple go at it like rabbits. Secondly, there was too much talking. Sure, talking sets the story and says what's going on, but I don't see how having something like 70% of the movie makes a good quality action movie. Also, it seemed to melike there were a few things missing in there, like an explanation of a certain part of story which I missed somehow. Maybe I've totallyl got this wrong but I was under the impression that this was meant to be a total action movie, but turned out to be thriller like instead. Good movie, but there's some things that I just don't like in there.

I just watched Dark City. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
Kelverin Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Big Country (1958) - Epic western with Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Charlton Heston, and Burl Ives. It is long (2 hours 47 minutes) but time flew by. Ives was excellent and won an Oscar for best supporting actor. Good flick! J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning
wannabesith Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Tombstone..An awesome movie. And if you disagree you can get out.

Pidesco Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Ju-On: The Grudge Quite scary. Not much else, really, but the director did what he set out to do. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. Krookie Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Saw that Talldega Nights:Ballard of Ricky Bobby. Very funny. This was the first movie that I've seen in a while that had the whole theater full, even at a 10:00PM show, not to mention the whole theater laughing at every joke.

It was solid, but ALOT of jokes fell flat. Alot of "who's that one guy laughing at that joke 2 rows up?" moments. Not in league with 40 Year Old Virgin or Old School, imo. Anyways, I recently watched Brick and Luck Number Slevin. Great films. Slightly predictable, but enough turns where at least some of them will get you. Edited August 6, 2006 by kumquatq3
alanschu Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 That one guy would probably be me. I remember my roommate and I were the only ones laughing when Cyclops suggested to Wolverine that maybe he'd rather wear yellow spandex
