June 25, 200619 yr ^ That is a question better left unanswered. Beer. Does that count? It's Rolling Rock, Latrobe's finest (and only) beer. At least until Anheuser-Busch moves their production at the end of July. I've boycotted those bastards for stealing the quirkiness of my favorite summer beer. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
June 25, 200619 yr I've heard it's basically gonna suck after that since the water's better at the place they're making it currently. I wouldn't really know since I don't drink, but that's a pretty crappy move if it's true. RIP

I wouldn't really know since I don't drink, but that's a pretty crappy move if it's true. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. I wrote a column about the whole thing for the paper. It's funny, they want us to write columns every few weeks, but there's only a few things I'm passionate enough about to write 800 well-thought-out words on. Music, obviously, is one. Video games are another, and beer is a third. I basically whined about how A-B is bankrupting the city of Latrobe by doing this, as well as destroying one of the last independent successful breweries. Then I went into the whole history of the mysterious "33" on the bottle. It was fun and a few people took the time to write me on it, so that was cool. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
June 25, 200619 yr So what is up with the "33"? People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

June 25, 200619 yr The "33" is the number of words in the pledge. When the family was thinking of what they wanted the bottle to say, they had a bunch of drafts. The one they liked was composed of 33 words, and whoever wrote the draft wrote the number of words underneath it. That's how they sent it to the printer, and when the bottles all came back with 33s on them, a Depression-era new business was not about to just toss them. Or at least that's how the story seems to go. Edit: And a fried bologna sandwich, with melted cheese. Mmmmmm.
