Bokishi Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Disc swapping is a hassle though, and the game boots faster without a disc. No-CD cracks are nice, but they tend to crash newer games, such as FEAR. Current 3DMark
Fenghuang Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Have you done a comparison between game crashes without the disc on a retail version and game crashes with a DD version? I'd be curious if there was a difference. RIP
Bokishi Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 That sounds like an expensive experiment heh. With a cracked FEAR it crashes on exit. I doubt a D2D version of FEAR would do that. I haven't tested it, but I imagine quite an outrage if it did. Current 3DMark
Fenghuang Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I wonder why. It'd kind of sort of make sense if it crashed during startup, or in the middle of the game when it was doing a disc check. But on exit? RIP

Krookie Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Nothing. I still can't find anything decent for my 360, CoD2 for PC is getting old, and if I here "Super Mario, Suuuunshiiiine!" one more time, I'll throw my GameCube out the window.
Lare Kikkeli Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 BG2 and RTW. Waiting for NWN2, like most of you are.

Bokishi Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Hey Bok, did you have a chance to play Prey yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah it's pretty good. I have to take frequent breaks because I get dizzy from it Current 3DMark
Hurlshort Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I've got a serious game of Jagged Alliance 2 going. I love the new patch that allows me to play at 800x600. I just ripped the kingpin off, hired Magic, and now I'm on the way to the hospital for much needed medical supplies. Hitman actually bled to death because I ran out of bandages. I also haven't gotten the Bobby Ray website yet...not sure why.
alanschu Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I remember having that problem. IIRC, it's a link on one of the pages, AIM's I think. I kept wondering how long it would take to get Bobby Ray's as well.
Krookie Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I've been thinking of giving KotOR 2 another go, but I'm procrastinating digging my Xbox out of the attic.

Thanks for the help, it was a lifesaver, as I really needed some new artillery to take out Kingpin.
GhostofAnakin Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Dusted of the Xbox, and started K2 over. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I tried that the other day. The story's too fresh in my mind, though. So I ended up giving up after I reached Telos. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Krookie Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I haven't played it in over 4 months, and I've never played through darkside either. I've on the Harbinger, but I can only play in hour increments or I get bored. God damn Peragus...
karka Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Without the Peragus part, the game would be much better.
GhostofAnakin Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Actually for me it was the Peragus + first part of Telos. The beginning where it was extremely linear about what you can do before you're actually able to go to whatever planet you choose. Peragus and Telos themselves weren't bad. It was the fact you had to play out a certain portion of those no matter what. Dark_Raven Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Peragus was a bore something I would do quickly. Telos wasn't that bad, at least you had interaction with others and quests. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
