Original Street Fighter 2 US game cover

Hello,

Can anybody still remember on this cult cover, which is showing the amazing painting with the tough battle between Chun Li, Blanka and Ryu?

If yes, what are your opinions about that cover?

In the attachment there you can find the poster, which is showing the painting from this cover. I must take it down from the wall to make a scan. The poster was hanging there for about 12 years already.

Regards

Jan

The cover was certainly misleading as to what the game was actually about.

I remember thinking what kind of situation these characters were in that they had to fight each other like that... Turns out the story was a lot more silly then I could have ever imagined.

I always thought the cover art was a bit crap, even way back when I was 12 and got it for my SNES.

Meh, when I saw the cover I figured it'd be a fighting game. Turns out I was right.

In hindsight, they should have had Ryu fighting Chun Li, since that's pretty much what it always comes down to.

story??? wtf? its a beat-em-up!! story lol!

Actually, it's a "fighting game." Technically, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Streets of Rage, Final Fight, etc., are "beat-em-up's." :D

But yeah - story, WTF? LOL!

Street Fighter series had a rather intricate story actually...

No. They were farking awesome beat-em-ups!

Everyone complains about the death of the RPG and the death of the Adventure game. Where's the love for the long lost game genre that was the beat-em-up??

I miss Battletoads and Double Dragons. :)
